About 6 months ago I bought a mincer and sausage maker. It took a bit of practice to make sausages. Recently I’ve been quite I’ll, so I’ve been living off from my freezer. I have made a lot of various sausage flavours. No additives, just plain meat. There is a great eBay site that provides many flavours that suits everyone. I’m not saying everyone should go this route. I am single and have the time to spare. My favourite recipes are pork and red onion and beef and horseradish. There’s loads of other flavours like beef and red wine and pork and apple. I also make my own black pudding, which is great. I even made my Scottish neighbour some Haggis, which he loved. It’s all about how far your willing to go.
People could be clicking on this video not realising it’s a food channel 🙈 top video Gaz, craving a Sausage Sandwich 🥪 now on this Sunday morning. Have a great day …. Smithy
I have been eating them for a few years now because they are free of sodium nitrate (which has been linked to bowel cancer). I consider them to be the best sausage on the market. I love them, especially in a nice soft bap.
Sausages don't usually have nitrites in them anyway so you might be wasting your money if that's the main reason for buying them. Even crummy Richmond sausages don't have any nitrites as it's just pork, not cured meat (like bacon). Hot dog style sausages are the only sort that usually have nitrites in em
Had this recommended by YT after an Uncle Roger video, and I'm rather impressed. Solid bit of humour, solid overview and video production, and those snags look nice and lovely - no gristle and not overly greasy by the looks of 'em. Love from Down Unda!
As it's from the other side of the Irish Sea, it's pronounced "browg" - rhyming with "oh" ☺️ UPDATE I've had the Naked rashers. Loved them! All slices identical. Naked products are quality and won't be cheap. I'd rather pay the extra for decent stuff. It isn't that often for me, so, these would be a treat 🙂
Great video sir I’ve been watching you for quite a while now. As an international student who came to study here since A level and about to finished my degree at uni I learned so much about British supermarket foods and various types of dishes from your channel. This is my last year in the UK and I’m sure I would really miss these food once I have gone home. Thank you and best wishes to you Mr. Gareth
You’ve convinced me to do a quick sausage sandwich with some cheese. I’ve not actually had 1 of those crunchy baguettes for bloody ages. I’m going to buy some tomorrow. Just seeing the steam coming off yours , reminded me of what I’ve been missing out on.
Watcha Gareth, have to tell you those sausages looked fabulous, fantastic, fan- dabby- dozzy.Just how a well cooked sausage should look😊❤ And in the baguette brilliant, maybe some fried onions? That & naked bacon your on the way to the perfect breakfast 😊Can't beat butchers meat in any supermarket. Get my stuff from ( sausages included) delivered to me in London from butchers in Scotland 🏴 worth every penny. Have looked out gor naked bacon, but no luck.Still always good to have options ❤Cheers for now ( did the nippers have the bap or did your good lady use it😢) Cheers pal Allan&Family
I remember eating "Vienna Steaks" in the school canteen, and later in my works canteen. A vaguely steak shaped lump of reformed "meat". Then there was similar round things called rissoles. We didn't worry about what they were made of, back then. 🤣
Remains of the Sunday joint, plus some odds and ends of veg, potato, etc when my mum did them back in the 50s from what I remember, sort of burgers I suppose.
Excellent video as always!; definitely looked tasty but yes I totally agree with you about adding bacon, egg and black pudding to make a mega breakfast baguette. The sausages are definitely not burnt, they need colour on them so you know they are cooked, it looks weird when the sausage is hot on the inside but the outside looks anaemic. Hope all is well, take care and hope you are having a great weekend
Hi Gareth, no wonder you are attracting so much adult entertainment infiltration on your channel with a title like that. Your trusty crocodile Dundee knife wasn't long in dissecting those bangers lol. All looked good mate. Keep up the spot on work. Best wishes from Scotland.
Have to admit that I love that sort of baguette, we have them quite often. And when it comes down to having some brown sauce on it I always use Daddies and a touch more than you put on yours.
That's interesting that you liked them. I buy the Naked bacon which I like but had been put off by the bad reviews on these. You seem to like them so i will give them a go now. Thanks
I have been looking for good brown sauce for a long time. Back in the 70s and 80s HP was thick and tangy. It came in a glass bottle. It was a challenge to get the sauce out of the bottle. Because HP is not what it was, back in the day. I have decided to order some of the stokes brown sauce. I look forward to getting it delivered and giving it a try.
These sausages are also handy for making your own sausage rolls, as the skin is very thin and disappears when you start mashing them away to add your own stuff (onion salt, apple, tomato etc). Most other sausages need skinning. I guess this is because of the 'vegetable-based casing' they say they use. Very good product imo.
Love the funny comments, such a nice friendly channel getting better and better .Gareth is such a laugh . I made Heck sweet chilli chicken sausages as dont eat red meat. The sweet chilli chicken sausages are quite nice.
Another great review Gaz.. I had these recently and I must admit I didn't like them very much. The spicing just tasted odd to my unrefined palate. I wasn't keen on the texture either. They are good quality that is for certain, they are more like a artisanal sausage. I think I just prefer a cheap banger full of the bad stuff.
A great tip for cooking sausages especially in the barbecue without burning them to a cinder is to boil them first. Boil in water for about 10 minutes, dry them off with kitchen roll and then fry or barbecue them until lightly browned. Because they’re already cooked through they just need a few minutes to get some colour. 😊 PS Got some of that brown sauce off Amazon. Far better than HP. Thanks for the tip 👍🏼
They look really nice. Have to agree on the stokes brown sauce I had poached egg on toast in a cafe a month ago and they had stokes sachets of brown sauce. First time I had seen it and tasted it. I googled it after I had it to see if I could buy a bottle. Unfortunately I can’t eat sausages with skin on anymore. I had an ileostomy in October. So certain foods I can no longer eat. But I get my fix watching you review and enjoy tasty treats.
I love a good sausage and I've been looking for something like this, a good, high quality sausage with nothing fancy in it and no hidden nasties. You're eating those just the way I like them too, in a nice crusty bagette. My nan always said that eating the crusts of the bread would make your hair curl. I think it's a bit late for that for both of us! I'm going to try these and see if I can find some of that brown sauce to go with it.
They look nice, 90% pork is good, and no nasties is even better, so I will give them a try, and yes, I will be clothed when I cook and eat them! That is a big difference in price from one supermarket to another, so I will definitely be shopping around. I tried the Stokes sauces after they were mentioned on a previous video and they are lovely. I never liked tomato ketchup before because it was too sweet, but Stokes is less sweet then Heinz and I actually like it. On the other hand, Stokes brown sauce is more sweet than HP, although not a lot, so I think I will stick with HP for brown - just my personal taste, nothing wrong with any of them. I could not find them in the shops around here, and I did not want to pay for postage, so my pal and I got together, ordered from Stokes website and bought enough between us to qualify for free postage - every little helps!
I tried that Stokes (had to get if from Waitrose) based on one of your older reviews on brown sauce, but it was awful to me, just incredibly overpoweringly sweet. I honestly ended up throwing it away! Each to their own I suppose. Hammonds Chop is the best brown sauce by far, HP second!
I’ve watched so many of your videos and am jealous of how food in the UK is so much cleaner and better looking than in the US. I dream to eventually take a UK food tour one day…
The simple things in life are the best, I make sausage sandwiches with tomato sauce, I cook a whole batch and use some for a proper meal with veges and tomato onion gravy, then others for one of my absolute favorite food sausage sandwich, heaven.
Enlightened people don't even look at Ketchup let alone put that crap on their food; instead enlightened people put either Mexican, Spanish, Greek, or Southern Italian tomato sauce.
Great review Gareth. They look alright and would be great in a couple of slices of bread with a dollop of Colemans mustard - other makes are also available.
Wow they look great sausages Gareth though i have not yet tried them i am very tempted to try them plus they are 90 percent meat content and nitrate free is good as you can't beat a sausage sarnie for brekkie with brown sauce yum yum 😋
When sausage rolls, ie sausage in a roll are mentioned I always think of a sandwich shop I used to pass on my way to work in London back in the early 70s who advertised 'sosidge rolls' in their window. There were some other delicacies such as meet rolls (Spam) and lettice also.
With the nitrates pretty sure the way these companies get round it is by using celery, which being mainly water is naturally full of nitrates. This often appears as natural flavouring or something similar in the ingredients
Thanks for the tip of where to get the brown sauce. Gaz couldn’t find it anywhere I’m from Crosby Liverpool there’s a couple of great pie shops here if you’re ever in this neck of the woods👍

Try putting loads of Rolnik Sweet Mild yellow Mustard on sausages. You can buy a 250g jar (looks like a small beer glass) from ASDA Polish foods section. DELICIOUS. I highly recommend it.👍👍
Trust Tesco to be most expensive but of course we have to remember "every little helps" 🤔 I do hate gristle in sausages but these looked pretty good, and will be giving the brown sauce a try for sure 😊👍
Hi .. love your channel. These sausages look delicious but I’ve tried both Sainsburys and Tescos stores today and they don’t sell them. Any clues as to where I can buy from ..?? Thanks Di
I would put then at £2.50 version against the Aldi premium version that are £2.50 for 6, which do have a nice flavour. and it is 90% pork too. with no nitrates and veg casings too. would always cut all down the middle then fill the bun better and do not fall out. and it looks more in the bun.

Have you considered doing a cooking vid on the Triple Egg, Chilli Sauce and Mango Chutney sandwich from Red Dwarf? (a quick search will bring it up) ... It's surprisingly good, one of the best sandwiches you'll ever eat!
That's a seriously good price for an electric mincer. Have fun with your first attempts, but a hand-cranked sausage stuffer is much easier, if you stick with it. First attempts are likely to be hilarious though. Plenty of tutorials on UA-cam.
That looks good! (I think the baguette might beat the bap, too.) And the fact I'm saying this after I've just finished a roast dinner means it's not hunger-longing making me feel that way!
This is off the subject but.... I went into the CO OP and whoever scanned in the prices or whatever ... well a packet of biscuits cost me 1p and a pod for my vape was £1 (usually a fiver). I offered to pay the correct amount but the lady at the till wouldn't hear of it, so I got and extra pod. I am not greedy, and I told everyone I met on the way home!
Nice Sausage absolutely loved that moment you took that big ol bite, gonna have to get these for me and the Mrs😂
Hi I'm from Northern Ireland, finnebrogue is pronounced ,

The best sandwich in the world
A egg sausage & bacon sandwich
The supermarket breakfast sandwiches are cold thus have very little flavour to them; in theory hot food has more flavour to it than cold food.

Oooh banging sausages those. I like them with a bit of ketchup ❤
