My vet told me (and I also have an African grey) that African Greys are the smartest parrots and they basically believe they’re people (rather than pets) which is why they’re very communicative. Nice parrot!
This is truly awesome as I have always had a soft spot for African Gray's.

They live to about 60-80 years old so she will out live us. Already trying to make sure she gets the best home once that time comes.

🦜How Cute Macy is. . I’m a vet asst. FYI. You should try an all aluminum cage, because galvanized steel like yours, can get a white rusty powder, in between the cage rungs and bars, and that causes heavy metal poisoning in tropical birds. Some bells, and metallic paint on bird toys can cause it, too. Some other things to watch out for: Teflon coated cooking pans, when cooking food at high heat, causes fumes which is dangerous to birds, keep their quarters out of the kitchen. Also any chemicals, like nail polish, polish remover, glass cleaner. Spores in the air, or in bird food. They’re very sensitive.

Macy is such a looker, very pretty bird and she is very good at talking, made me laugh when she said what you doing LOL, when she said Hi then after you said Hi she said How are you shows they are not just repeating and can form a conversation, so clever.
Very much appreciated! Sometimes her timing is impeccable but so hard to capture since she gets camera shy lol And MJ has conversations with her everyday :)

A friend from work just told me that she has this type of bird and she was telling me all of the crazy things that it says. She’s had the bird for 15 years and the things that it says, I was kind of like really LOL and so I decided to look up these type of birds on UA-cam and yeah they are one of the smartest breeds of parrot. Which is crazy that they can talk like that. I would love toA bird like that but I have five little dogs and I know that they are very needy and would need a lots of attention and I would hate it if I couldn’t give all of my attention. But who knows maybe one day.

I used to own a Severe Macaw named JouJou(French for toy).I was a nanny in Dallas TX. & would let Joujou hang outside in the tree all day for a year,then one day,the Mercedes broke down & I didn't get home till dark. Missing Bird signs were made and 1 month later I got a call from a lady whose shoulder Joujou landed on & whose friends saw my sign on their way to synagogue.
When does this happen? I got my Bird back.Bird bonds are tight! I had 2 other birds , but that's a whole other story.

An escaped pet in Japan was returned to his owner after repeating the owner's name and address.
And she does mimic a lot! Great about the owner in Japan being able to get his pet back :)

No I did not republish this - just update the video title. That would be funny if we could teach her that and now wanting to try :) Not sure why it kept buffering. My wife used her cell phone to do the video and I kept spinning the fidget :)
