- Black Swan Just Became a MASSIVE Game Changer in Honkai Star Rail. There has been a lot of debate regarding how good Black Swan is, and whether or not players should pull for Black Swan or save for Sparkle. She will be the first limited 5-star Wind Nihility Character coming into HSR v2.0 focusing on the DoT (Damage over time) mechanic! She also comes with her own signature type of DoT, Arcana, that excels at debuffing the enemy while still doing incredible damage. This plays a huge part regarding her place in the meta.

I still wonder if I should pull for her. I don't particularly like dot playstyle and so I didn't invest in any character associated to it, however, I was thinking, that situations can come up where the game kinda forces us to use dot related teams, like current PF, and I'm sure there'll be others, so it might be a good move to get a dot char that is pretty good out of the box, without too much reliance on other members. (So without requiring another 5 star dot)

Couldn’t pull Kafka for the 1st or 2nd time lost both 50/50s 😭 might just pull Swan incase I get her in the future.
Got her using the free 10 pull. Now i just need to do the events so I can get some leveling materials😊
I have a genuine question! Only character I have build that has bleed is Argenti. I have a lot of units that I could work on, but my main team usually consists of Argenti and three supports. Would have only Argenti and Black with two supports also work since he applies bleed? Also thank you for the info!
I usually use her with Kafka + Lightcone, Ruan Mei E1 with Lightcone and Fu Xuen (no Lightcone) this helps a lot with sustainable while also getting her damage up a lot without worrying about healing 😊

she can be totally fine w sampo too
She is ok without Kafka, but Kafka makes her a beast. The difference is pretty big, but you can still clear everything without Kafka

won her 50/50 at 81, but then got gepard at 6 pity right after so hey, that's great. Gonna go for E1 then if i get it early imma go for her LC. IF i get all of that i can just keep saving till HH rerun since i got Gepard so my sustain issues got somewhat fixed.

She is my queen. I got her to e1 and and her light cone, and a failed 50/50 bronya, in 100 pulls total which is amazing.
Got her built and put her in the new memory event we have running and literally her dots along with the mechanics of dots. I just sat there and did nothing as she went off
Running my dot team now to clear story mode, (her Kafka hua and ruan) and it is just so much fun.
This weekend when I have time I’m thinking about running them in simulated and trying to be risky of running a full dot team with little to no support and seeing if they could survive on their dots alone, (as long as I get the heal buff, speaking of Hoyo, maybe a support member who heals based off dot damage for us maybe?)
Im stuck on who to pull, i would like black swan cuz i got kafka, ruan mei, houhou, but sparkle's banner is also nice. Her banner has Qingque, & sampo, who i can try to get e6 for both since i wanna focus on my second team now like mono quantum. Should i just go for Sparkle for now? & have sampo stand in till swan's rerun? & ofc i want Fu Xuan 😅. Any opinions & suggestions would gratefully be appreciated if any 🙏

I wasn't planning on pulling for her at all but I always use the free 10 pulls they give out for updates...I got her. I'm not mad but now I'm back on my 50/50 for my next char ; __ ; I plan to use Welt and Asta with her for speed fun

Got her in 40 pulls, which was nice. Then I pulled again hoping to get Misha because I don’t really have ice dps and ended up getting Misha and e1 Black Swan which was also nice.
I also use her on my Blade team instead of Pela. The extra damage and weakness break is so good!
I plan on pulling mainly for enhancing my DOT team. Best thing about the new patch is exploring the new vibrant world.
I got black swan just after obtaining silverwolf, argenti, ruan mei with f2p currency. I am having some real good luck lately. Next to try my luck on sparkle and archeron.
Though I have failed on getting Kafka for the second time, which I know that sucks, I felt like I was given up, However I still feel like I have what it takes to make a comeback, so for Black Swan actually being a high anticipated character is something, I hope she would also work well with Archeron is a later update.
Why Acheron with BW, you could just use Pela as a def shredder if you really needed one.

dude i lost my 50-50 on dan heng and got clara so i was mad asf but next day i got dan heng and today i also got black swan and welt all in just 3 days so here for the guide now lol
Took 150 pulls but got Black Swan and her sig lc. Goes great with my e2s1 Kafka, huohuo s1, and Ruan mei.
Just won my 50-50! She’s only level 68. Ended up pre farming the old nihility talents 😐
So I Got Black Swan At 31pity, And I Want To Pull For Her Lc I Am At 20 Pity On Lc Banner And I Finished All Almost All Quest So A Quick Question If I Go All In On Lc Banner Would I Be Able To Get Acheron And Her Lc On Her Banner? (I Am Going To Skip Sparkle And I Do Buy Subscription Every Month)
I got incredibly lucky on her banner. Going in, I already had her guaranteed, but ended up getting her to E1 in 40 pulls. I got both her and Misha in my third multi-pull. I wanted just one Misha eidolon so I pulled and immediately got Black Swan again haha. She's my first ever limited unit to go beyond E0! I had a bunch of pulls left and no interest in Sparkle so I went ahead and pulled her light cone. Her damage is insane! When paired with Kafka, it's not even fair haha. My favorite team at the moment is Kafka, Black Swan, Ruan Mei, and Luocha (as an SP battery haha). They absolutely melt everything and I'm not even done fully building Black Swan's traces.
I got her E1 + her sig LC….but have YET to get a single effect hit rate body or speed boot on the DoT set…..I’ve been farming for TWO WEEKS 😭 I might go insane

Can you explain how the IPC planar set works? I've always been confused about the up to a maximum of 25% part? Like if you have 100% EHR then you get a 25% ATK boost but if you have over a 100% you don't get a higher ATK boost?

Already won the 50/50 but I'll leave the like anyway and to give a shoutout to the great exploration, it enabled me to get her LC same day and I was only low pity and guarantee so that's alotta free stellar jade.

Man, I am so confused right now, I really want to save up for Sparkle, but I already have a bunch of OP harmony (E6 Tingyun, E1 Ruan Mei, and a few more pulls and I'll have Bronya). meanwhile, I lack DOT characters to clear Stage 4 of Pure FIction. I can't decide. Can I run her without Kafka?
No, you can't. You will get damage like from Dr. Ratio or Jing Yuan from her without Kafka. Don't pull if you want to clear the last stages of endgame and if you don't like the character because you will miss out on characters you like and you will only gain like no more than 5 pulls from the last stages of endgame.

Best build for bs is as high spd as possible. If you can by some miracle reach 2 turns first cycle. Your pretty much looking at guaranteed ults with err rope+penachony set+huohuo.

She's so pretty! Always wanted her when they revealed her design WAY, WAY BACK. The hype kind of lay lowed for me over time but it kind of came back when her release got close.

Yes you need Kafka to get the most of her. You can do without Kafka, but your team will be a lot weaker than someone who uses Kafka
You can try her out in game....
But yes, she's nowhere near as strong without kafka.

That's your fault, everyone and their grandma was saying how OP Ruan Mei is. You can use Asta but it won't be anywhere as good. You will still be able to destroy any content though.

She's a no brainer really, everybody should pull her. Had the pleasure to experience her trough support from my FL and she's just broken imo even without a meta group, I just got kafka in my group and then my trailblazer in preservation & Natasha and I just breeze trough enemies.
That said I'm on 80 pulls already and I lost the first change. so let's see how many more jades/passes I can get before the banner disappears.

They said E1 and S1 is almost the same damage increase so go with E1 because it also increase other forms of damage (DOT)

I love how her weapon looks as it’s like my Astro weapon in final fantasy xiv. Also ironically she’s how I make most characters look in games minus the long hair and hoods
I managed to win the 50/50 on her and on her lightcone, taking her straight to the moon.
I lost 50/50 at 8 pity. I then got her at 9 pity after that.

I didn't have Kafka and i pulled for her then I lost and got Yanqing then I pulled 1 pull and Got Mommy Kafka back to back 😭 , i was really speechless and shocked , and after that something even crazier happened and got Mommy Black Swan at 20 pulls .. at this point I Lost my mind and got freaked out .. i mean now I have the Two best Women in HSR 😎(btw i got three 5 Stars characters within 80 pulls)

Definitely pulling for Black Swan. That's why I went my way to get Kafka, which I did, but unfortunately, I couldn't get her signature LC, but because I got Gepard's LC instead, Black Swan's LC is guaranteed when I do the pull for it.

but but but, Welt isn't great is he? As long as you get the 7 stacks you want them to get a turn to detonate it. It's the synergy-anti synergy problem like xyuei and RM. Unless you reliably delay them so much you can keep stacks at 50 with the ult and Kafka to detonate the multiplier, that would be something different i guess.

I failed on getting Kafka just like so many others, should I pull for Black Swan or IL Dan Heng? I'm quite new to the game, and I don't have a dps character for either type.

If u dont have kafka then neither black swan or IL might be worth it. Dont forget we all got a free dr ratio so u dont need an imaginary dps.
I suggest saving this entire patch and waiting for acheron for a crazy busted dps
I’d say upgrade misha, he’s a pretty good ice unit and dps! He needs a bit more investment tho, but he’s sufficient in super early game
You don't have Kafka so pulling for BS might not be worth it, I'd say go for IL and Sparkle since they work so well.
IL Dan hang is a no brainer if you have no dps and really need some his perfect still one of the best units in the game

Moon should I pull for black swan for my kafka team or should I get E2 Imbibitor Lunae? I have a guarantee on my next 5 star so I'm debating which one to pull for since they are both so good.
Dan heng IL is the strongest dos in the game so if u like him go for it
Bonus points if u get sparkle
E2 Lunae is the strongest character in the game period, his E2 is stronger than the other DPS E6. You decide based on who you like more.
I'd personally build for two teams.
