Does anyone know why m shadows holds his ear when he’s about to hit high notes or scream ? I thought it was an ear monitor thing but it’s clearly out of his ear and he’s still doing that gesture
If you cup your hand around your ear like that, it helps direct your own voice into you ear. It's to help with hearing what your voice is actually sounding like as opposed to the way we normally hear our own voice through the bones of our skull. It's a great method of making sure your technique is good, especially in a loud environment like this where it's easy to lose yourself and fuck up your voice.
I literally just posted this question on another video 🤣 I think it's to get a blend of ambient and his own voice ... To help with his pitch. He's been doing it a few years now and it's really evident on the acoustic show they did with Syns dad and the orchestra at some hall of fame type place.... But I'd love to see a sit down interview with a vocal coach and M. Explaining his technique and what that ear thing is about ...
That last silhouette shot of M. Screaming is fucking A+ 👏🏻👏🏻

@@Roo_Tech I’m also trying to enjoy those shows at the same time. Sometimes I don’t even look at what I’m recording.
@@YouDontKnowMusic Haha awesome, they should hire you in that case!

If I remember correctly it helps him hear/hit a certain note.

@@YouDontKnowMusic you record at 4k 60 fps??
@@Lonelanceyt24 yeah. These were all 4K 60fps. UA-cam seems to choose if they max out at 1080 or 4K.
