      Yaakov Litzman, Israel's deputy minister of health, who has previously denied the practice, will lead the inquiry, a spokesperson announced on Wednesday.
      The phenomenon was uncovered when social workers noticed the birth rate among Ethiopian immigrants halving in a decade. An Israeli documentary investigating the scandal was aired in December and prompted a popular outcry.
      It revealed that women were started on a course of contraceptive jabs while still in transit camps in Ethiopia, some without being told they were being given birth control and many having no idea of the side-effects.       "No, we didn't want to take it, we refused. We said we didn't want it," the unnamed woman recalls in the film. She agreed to the injections only because she was told her immigration to Israel would be blocked and she would receive no further healthcare in the camps if she refused.
      "This happened to many, many other women," Reuben said.
      More than 50,000 Ethiopian Jews have immigrated to Israel in the past decade. The fast-growing community has struggled against bias. In 1996, thousands rioted when it was discovered that the Israeli health ministry had destroyed all stocks of blood donated by Ethiopians on the grounds that it might be contaminated with HIV.
      Israel's health ministry has strongly denied allegations that the injections are part of a policy to control the growth of the Ethiopian community.
      "The Israel ministry of health neither advises nor encourages the use of Depo-Provera injections and if they are being administered this is in despite of our view," a spokesperson said.
      And yet Reuben claims to have discovered a letter from the health ministry to a clinic in Ethiopia in 2000 thanking doctors there for the large numbers of women they had treated with Depo-Provera.
      "Why are only Ethiopian women being given Depo-Provera in Israel? It's supposed to be a last-resort contraceptive. Israeli health authorities claim the injections are a cultural preference but in our culture, to have lots of children is to be rich," Reuben said.
      "It is my opinion that this is a deliberate policy on the part of Israel. They are taking advantage of women who are weak because they are new to the country, do not understand the language and who traditionally respect authority. It makes me more than angry."
      Dr Mushira Aboodia, a gynaecologist working at Jerusalem's Hadassah medical centre, said the majority of Ethiopian women she had met received Depo-Provera injections.
      "This is a policy that no one will admit. No one in Israel will take responsibility for the treatment in the camps but someone must have instigated it and it would not be in Ethiopia's interests to treat women preparing to leave the country," Aboodia said.
      "Something is definitely wrong here. I'm very glad the ministry of health will be investigating the issue. They will need to do a thorough job."

      @billygribble9939 you'd be silly to buy a vehicle past 2006, they're all trash and non really good. My 97 is about to hit 300k, my transmission rebuild costs $700, my engine I can rebuild for $400. Everything else is solid and sturdy. Don't buy modern crap guys

    There must be a design flaw with these ships for them to be tipping over so frequently, I would have thought that with all the modern computer systems that they would quickly figure incorrect ballast weights for stability, helping to elevate human error 🤔

    Anytime I hear about them, I shake my head. So treacherous. Years ago, that UPS flight in Europe crashed after lithium batteries in its cargo hold caught fire. The pilots did all they could but fire burned thru the controls. And remember the dive boat 'accident' off southern CA, some years back? In my view, that, too, was caused by > lithium batteries. The dive boat was an older vessel, and with 30+ folks plugging in their devices to charge overnite....it din't take much to cause that fatal fire.. 'Investigators' claimed they couldn't figure out what happened. Right.

      Them battery's are 9 grand to replace n need to be replaced every 500,000 miles that is insane them cars even last that long... no oil no rad fluid not even brake fluid n no gas sounds like alotta $ savings to me. My neighbor bought one n said it's by far the best decision he's made in his life... he said it's 10$ a month added to his electricity bill n he goes over 300 miles per charge for 2$ n to fill a gas tank of regular gas is 40-$50 for 300 miles if u don't have a hemi on it.. his Ford lightning 🌩 ⚡️ is all electric and has 480 up instant power it's like 0 to 60 in 3 seconds n it's a big truck 😅

    Nothing new I believe the MS Zenobia was the first RoRo vehicle transport vessel with ballast issues, it sank in June 1980 in Larnaca bay Cyprus

    It's amazing more ships designed like this don't capsize. It's a flat bottom. Kind-a-like trying to turn an iceberg on it's head; 90% of the ships weight is above water. A big wave or strong breeze should knock it over. Don't build the ship to fit in shallow harbors make the harbor deeper; easier and cheaper.

      My daughter’s an engineer. They’re having to repair roads more often than before EV’s became available, due to their weight being twice as heavy as ICE vehicles. It’s truly a problem that’s going to affect everyone’s registration fees, and increase state and federal gas taxes.

      @@denisek292 The most popular EV is the Tesla model Y, weight -4000-5500 lbs. Ford F250 pick up average weight-5600-7600 lbs. The average semi truck cab is 10,000 lbs. My point, the roads were getting beat to hell long before EV's. You truly need to stop watching FOX news.

You can argue Semi’s “beat up the road,” but they also are required to even their loads, and are regulated through weigh stations. ASCE, of which my daughter is a member, has done studies finding EVs an inherent risk to infrastructure. I love it when someone can’t find any other “insult” but “stop watching Fox News.” Guess, what? I HATE Fox News. I can think for myself, thank you very much.

    The $401 Million of cars represent price increases for all the cars sold. But not all unsold cars are here. Hundreds of $millions of unsold cars are dumped due to over-production. That too, results in price increases for cars sold.

    I like how people keep commenting about lithium batteries. You do know they are used in airplanes now? All of these boats are of the same design (Ace ships). Seems to me most of these accidents are actually stability issues with the ships, and over complicated ballast systems.

    I read .. stop the EV‘s … there are not the problems… problems are the pov used cars …
    .. , since about 3 years we are disconnected the starter battery after loading on Bord … and connect to unload …
    The used cars and trucks are a big problem…. open wires, Musik boxes .,, with no fuses … that’s the problem…

    The Vehicles in these massive auto carriers ARE NOT BOUND IN PLACE. As Straps would ruin these cars paint and DAMAGE very thing Metal and Non metal Panels
    So what is happening here is LOAD SHIFTS when the vehicles shift to one side THE SHIP LISTS. This is no mystery. What is required no car company wants to pay for is individual safe containers for each vehicle and these then would be LOCKED DOWN
    Not only are the containers expensive each car and truck would have to be hand packed in so it could not move.
    Then consider the way things are set up is each car today is driven on in minutes and at port driven off.
    Each vehicle container would have to be brought in by a special wide forked forklift the paths between vehicles are narrow so no more than 5 or 10 of these could operate at any time.
    This means DAYS OF LOADING and DAYS OF UNLOADING Just so all understand why nothing has changed since the first one of these ships were lost a few years ago
    At the heart of this is the vehicles tonnage make these very flat and very wide ships TOP HEAVY which can not be if one understands weight distribution in water.

    So... heres my question. Im mr Customer waiting for my car that ive already waited months for, only to find out its gone to the bottom with hundreds of others. ! Do manufactures or Dealers have a contingency plan in place? to make up for the shortfall and service the customers , seeing as now, everyone is out something, from dealer stock to customers and also including a ship. Seems like this is happening more and more.

    Too much is made of electric vehicles catching fire. I have had two car fires, both of them gasoline models. One was a Toyota and the other a VW. I have been driving electric vehicles for 5 years now. Not one issue involving a fire.
