Lancia Delta S4 Martini Racing on Snow!! - The Ice Challenge Livigno 2018

- After almost 4 years since the last and only time I recorded some racing action on snow, I decided to go to the 3rd round of the 2018 Italian Ice Challenge held at the Ice Driving School circuit of Livigno. And as that year, among the various cars, there was a Lancia Delta S4 ready to be raced on the frozen racetrack.
This Lancia Delta S4 isn't a proper Group B-spec car but it features some mods made by S4-specialist Bruno Ianniello such as an increased displacement (from 1.8 to 2.0-liter), a demuffled exhaust and a few more that increase the power and handling of this monster.

Actually it's a original S4 Stradale converted to race-specs or one of the few built by Bruno Ianniello using original Delta S4 spare parts. So of course not a genuine Group-B but chassis, mechanical components and engine are original

Hey Bozzy. I just knew this one was going to be EPIC! Something I haven't seen for quite some time, so thanks for posting this kickass footage, bro! The Lancia Delta S4 with that beast of an engine and studded tires is totally in its ideal elements here... perfect environment for this car. The driver didn't hold back a bit either. I love the way he "backed it in" for several of those turns. That must be the greatest feeling ever to pull of a reverse entry with the car screaming as it gradually slows, then slingshots through the turn. Great job keeping everything perfectly framed. Fantastic panning work on this video and the sound was really nice, too. More of the same, please sir. Have a great day!
Hi Mick! So glad you liked this video. As you may probably have read in the description, this wasn't my first ice/snow rally event and exactly as 4 years ago there was this Delta S4. I'm always willing to go and film more motorsport action on extreme winter conditions but my hatred towards cold, very cold, makes me always hesitate a bit. And this tracks are always located in remote nooks of Northern Italy, so that means long and endless journeys hahaha But at the end of the day I am always happy to have been there! ;) More videos coming soon bro! Because actually it's mostly an original S4. Bruno Ianniello is well known for his work on these machines and he owns many of them (both Gr. B and Stradale version). But he's also a tuner so almost every of his S4 are modified and different compared to the genuine-S4 Group B. Chassis, engine and mechanical components are 100% original. This one it could be one of the few Delta S4 Stradale he converted to race-specs or one of the two he built from 0 by using only official spare parts
