I once fished the Battenkill in Vermont just over the border from Massachusetts. I let my classmate and good friend hold the pole as he was there just to observe. He felt the heavy tug of what felt to me like a 2 or 3 pounder to me. The line broke off at the hook as he passed the pole back to me. Back then I only used worms, now often do fly fishing. A great fish story that my friend got to experience too! And thanks for the advice about the electric green caddis. Superb visuals!
Wicked man!! Made my night I greatly appreciate it the kind words! Hopefully I can cook up something good for Fridays video this week! Have a great week
Next time you’re in the area stop at orvis’ flagship store and the fly fishing museum of America! All in Manchester and across the street from each other
Really nice looking browns! Gorgeous colors and frisky and healthy releases! Thanks, now I’m itchin to get back out again. But, the furnace will be starting back up soon. Looking forward to your next vid down in the Del! Good luck and tightlines!
Good one, Dan! Glad to see the water temps are ok. Those mid-90's had me worried. Think the forecast has more 90's coming but with the rain lately hopefully that helps.
Oooooo this coming week looks like the inferno is back! ☠️☠️☠️…. Was nice to get in a small session! Hopefully fall is a good time! Let me know if you ever find time to get out!
@@DownstreamDownrange I was just telling someone yesterday that I haven't been out since I hit the Ausable in June! Ugh... I don't know how that much time slips by without going... Seeing the river in this video really made me want to be out there!
You did very well fishing in mid-summer, mid-day, gin clear water. The flies you chose worked great. I'm curious to know if you have exclusively barbless hooks on the flies you use.
Gorgeous water . And you can wade without dying. I gotta fish that sometime. Good to see some video of that river that shows trees. All the old pics I saw made it look like it was all wide open meandering farmland water with bridges. and thousands of Orvis Heads flailing at brook trout that were too smart to catch. Did you stay at a campground and if so how much?
Do you put your stonefly on the bottom? Figured it was a dry-dropper and that was your dropper... If not, is the stonefly your point fly, and a caddis jig your dropper? Thanks!
Stone is the bottom! Caddis jig is the dropper fly higher up on the line! Same thing with orange crush. I’d have stone bottom…. I personally always have heavier fly on bottom
Respectfully I have to keep any type of locations a bit harder to find. But... I will name what rivers I fish from time to time. Thanks for taking a look and have a great week
Hope y’all enjoyed this mid summer mid afternoon session. Grab some Caddis Jogs! Web: ddflies.com

Yep! Caddis jig is barbless and the rest I crush in the vise when tying

I was watching and wondering if you ever hit any trees and WHAM it happened 😂 Nice Browns!
Hahahahah!!! Oooo yah 😅
Hello Dan! Great video! Really enjoyed it!
I appreciate you taking a look!!!
Love to see some bass on a fly rather than trout which a horribly stressed this time of the year.

Another top video. Not looking for any secrets, but are you in the special regs section?
I’ll name certain rivers but that’s about it! Vermont was the state
@@DownstreamDownrange Thanks….I’m on board.

What camera do you use for those underwater shots? Sweet fish!

I have never seen that section. Were you on private property?
