I can't find a good link to purchase a new one anywhere. Just used ones are available right now on Amazon and eBay. It seems like a brilliant idea, but I'm concerned that it isn't more popular... Do these fail often or something?

@@genjimane7966 Not so good. Pretty sure it’s not 67 waterproof as I went through 3 units all returned each time with water damage inside the solar cell/battery part. I wound up cutting up the bracket and installing the camera inside my back window where it’s dry. I built a small bracket by cutting it down and using 3m tape to secure it to my hatch. Other reviews on Amazon have same issue with water damage. Since my mod It’s been working great, since it’s dry. There is a Solar version 2 that’s coming out soon. UA-cam has some videos on it but no links yet. I’d stay away from version one as even car washing can damage it.

You should demo and review some Hikari 9005 LEDs, I want to see if they work good for DRL and highbeam
If you have DRL that run off of the High Beam headlight, they will blind oncoming traffic. LED's cannot be dimmed to lower wattage like halogens can. DRL's that run off the high beam have their wattage dropped to 7.5 watts from 65 watts.
Grizzleback07 the 9005 led bulbs that I have, have 2 different chip sets so one is drl other is high beam

Can you replace the battery in the licenceplatebracket? What kind of battery isin there ? No rechargeable battery lasts forever. Is it four AA rechargeable batteries? A lithium ion battery ?

They’re easy to install but they’re not waterproof like they claim. I’ve now gone through three in the last year and after a few car washes, they stop working because water gets in the solar panel. Even tried waterproof tape over the rubber cover where the pair button and USB input is but it still gets in. Just gonna throw in the towel and have a cam hard wired into my car.
Does the screen have to be plugged into a power source to work or does it have a battery built into it?
It has to be plugged into an outlet

Does it work at night time since it is solar?
Yes, the solar is to used to charge the battery. The unit does not run off of solar. As long as the battery has a charge then it will work.
Installed on my Chevy Silverado needed to extend the license plate bracket. Camera is fantastic when it works, seems to have a mind of its own. Very disappointed in its reliability.
what do you mean needed to extend the bracket? what are the measurements between the two holes at top and from bottom to top...it looks like the solar panel would be below the bumper on my '05 silverado

Why does my camera not work its saying no sigmal
Make sure the unit is fully charged and is paired the camera and monitor is paired.
How long have you tested this? My unit was out of power after sitting on my truck for 5 days. Which makes me think the solar doesn't work and that the camera never turns off regardless if you're using it or not. My truck is always parked outside in full sun except night off course. I have noticed that red light below the one for charging comes on for 10 or 15 seconds while not in use and just sitting, after I charged it again and had it sitting on my table waiting to be re-installed. That makes me think its constantly on, and using power?
Bought to brand new, one not turning on, 100% charged
I tested mine recharged it fully three times. It never stayed charged more than three days. I ended up sending it back for a refund. They would have sent a new one but I decided it didn’t meet my needs. I was trying to see the ball hitch on my trailer. But I couldn’t get it to angle down enough on my truck. But as a backup regular use camera I think it was fantastic if it was staying charged from the sun.
@@TheLastRanger mine solar function is not working i think, back end face sun all day it didnt charge anything... dont know why
WARNING: may not be suitable for colder climates. I have 2 of these cameras; bought one and the company replaced it when it stopped working. Both are non-functional now. I'm assuming there is some correlation between cold weather and the cameras malfunctioning as the wintertime was when they both stopped working.
