Inshore Trout Haul Shows Fall is Here!

- A scorching-hot summer refuses to lessen its grip on the region, but the annual speckled trout migration from outside bays to the inside marshes is driven more by photoperiod and bait stocks than temperature, so this week, I set out to see if the fish could get me in an autumn frame of mind despite the warm air.
Fortunately, some super active and hungry specks did exactly that, escorting me in one morning from the season of barbecue, fireworks and baseball to one of pumpkins, football and super easy fishing.

Two menhaden fishing companies dumped an estimated 850,000 fish in the waters off Cameron Parish during three incidents over four days, the companies confirmed on Wednesday. The fish formed rotting rafts that either floated into deeper water or washed up by the thousands near Holly Beach, one of the few communities in the sparely-populated parish. Amid the dead menhaden, also called pogy, were hundreds of redfish, a species prized by recreational fishers but often snagged as bycatch in massive menhaden nets, potentially contributing to sharp redfish population declines in recent years.

Depends on water clarity, but lavender shad SB-57 is probably the one I fish the most

Did a blast and cast today,nabbed 2-man limit of fine blue wing teal and ran into ole AJ Lacava and his sidekick,Cisco. AJ donated his fish to my cause(had four decent specks one white trout)and me and my hunting buddy did get a few bites but no hook-ups🤪🦆🛶
Nice video nice fish. Do few fuck hunting trips outta few NShore bayous and had huge white shrimp land on my right leg this past Sun. Bayou fulla white shrimp making teal hunt tomorrow followed by fishing trip and last Sat,me and duck hunt buddy missed every fish that smacked our soft plastics,he used Matrix Shad LemonHead while I tossed Lunker City Shakers,possibly best soft plastic out there and appropriately named as both head and tail shake INDEPENDENTLY 🐠🛶🎣
