YUM. I've now watched this tour twice (yours, and Nicole and Mico's) and I'm sold-- we've got to make it to Kolkata on this trip! (Currently traveling around India for around 3 months ourselves.) Happy holidays from Mumbai! :)
Do come to Kolkata if you want to see the old India. It's not the prettiest but people are warm and kind and chill around here and everything is cheap even compared to other Indian cities. And Bengalis got some great food.
Glad you tried bengali food 🩷 visit santiniketan and mayapur. It's spiritual and so peaceful. Also try listening to rabindra Sangeet sometime. Also read the Nobel award winning novel Geetanjali
For Best Bengali food please go the Aheli Restaurant in Peerless Hotel located opposite to the Oberoi Grand Hotel in central Kolkata, near the New Market.
Hi Benjamin,l bumped into an interesting article written by you some time ago on eating beef in lndia, where it is allowed(buffalo)or not and why,l also enjoyed your clear -cut explanation about castes and such, not to mention that my english skills were substantially improved...wish l could some day visit lndia..all the best..and greetings frim Havana,Cuba.
Hi Ben: Nice video of street food of Kolkatta. I am definitely in awe of your capacity for food. Congrats in advance for the approaching milestone of 100K subscribers.
Kolkata is famous for it's sweets. You could have dedicated just 1 video for the different varieties of sweets from the different famous sweet shops all over kolkata.
Indian cuisine 5th best in the world in a recent survey. But then Indian cuisine is so diverse. My mouth was watering for the rossogollas and Sandesh that are Kolkata specialty. I liked what was written on the back of the tee of the tour guide "eat eat repeat".
It's a mouthwatering video 🤤🤤 Must visit newtown part of Kolkata and do watch the match of mohunbagan at Saltlake stadium. 28th December 7:30 pm onwards
You should try different mode of transport here in kolkata. One of the unique transport system available is "Tram".And trams are also verge of extinct here in kolkata. Plz try tram here in kolkata
You have landed in Kolkata where the people speak in Bengali,; the sweetest language in the world. So you can try few words or small sentences from your guide as a sweetest memory in your life's journey . Please enjoy in fullest. (AMI TOMAKE BHALOBASHI - I LOVE YOU)
In Kolkata we call this type of food "mukho rochok" (mouth watering). The experience of water coming out of your mouth happens generally when young and you have no control. But here in Kolkata it happens even though you are an adult. That is the beauty of Kolkata street food. But Benjamin you haven't even touched the surface.
Really enjoying your videos, thank you ... we are travelling to Kolkata in March - although I'm vegetarian the street food tour looks well worth doing not just for the food but to sit in all those amazing 100 year+ restaurants/cafes - do you think there would be a veggie option in most places on that tour?
Dear Benjamin, I appreciate your work. Calcutta really is an amazing city. If you don't mind I'm requesting you to make vlogs on rural West Bengal. And if you do then try to come to our village Kulakash, Hooghly. It is a wonderful village but not many know it With regards, Anik Shaoo
Today you have committed a grave crime against humanity by showing us the visuals of such delicious food and making our tummies grumble. May you keep on feasting. Happy New Year in advance. I also hope you go to the North East.
Ben start a travel agency and u can be a good guide to American who visit India it's a whole new world for American who are not rich to travel out of US love to visit a new country in cheap
@@bjenks Sorry probably could not explain. "A Cook's Tour" is a famous TV series by Anthony. And was not that written on your guide t shirt. I pointed that out. Just search by the name I have given now. It's very interesting.
Benj, my house is stone throwing distance from Golbari(round house, where you had the spicy mutton). I have been following you since you arrived first in Chennai and I tried to invite you to my hosue. Unfortunately you didn't respond.
This street food vlog is amazing. I like the editing and the background music. However, I have a feedback for the Chef's Tour guide person. He's obviously knowledgeable, but he does a copy paste job, which is bad for a vlogger. Exactly same vlog was done by this guy for another vlogger and that's floating in UA-cam alongside with this. There are so many other alternate similar options of street food in Kolkata which are equally the same standards as the ones displayed here. The guide should work and research bit more
Lastly, please see if you eat authentic eelish-maach, the Hilsa fish that is a specialty in West Bengal and Bangladesh. The crazy thing about neighbor Bangladesh is that you have the population of United States of America living in a country the size of Illinois state!
@@bjenks Trying to get a Bangladesh visa in India and making a trip there might be worthwhile. Dhaka is one of the most crowded cities on planet earth!

I just enjoy the noise and crowd when I go to India. You are courageous for trying all that street food
How can the tour guide miss the most iconic kolkata street food..the kathi rolls
Kolkata: The city of joy. I live here. ❤️😌
Avik the guide is really good. And of course the food😍

It’s my hometown. Thank you for exploring Kolkata. I’m away for the past 14 years now, however, my heart is still there.

Love your Kolkata sojourn, Ben! Please compare Kolkata Puchka with Delhi's Golgappa and Mumbai's Pani Puri!
Good idea
Kolkata one is probably more crunchier, spicier and tangier. Just saying as I have stayed both in Mumbai and Delhi and now in Kolkata.
Kolkata Fuchka version is sold in London streets as well. So it's the best.
Love from Kolkata
I just look at the face of guide when Ben eats 🤣🤣
lmao me too
Haha I was checking too
