The lack of a "Monster Manual" is one of my favorite aspects of LotFP; my players never know what they might encounter, and that keeps them on their toes.. I have one "thing" that's impervious to physical attacks and magic, but suffers horribly if spoken to using incorrect grammar, lol. That one was generated using the "Random Esoteric Creature Generator for Classic Fantasy Role-playing Games and their Modern Simulacra" by James Edward Raggi IV. I highly recommend it!!
Yes, I was thrown for a moment on the lack of monsters, but then once I understood what he was doing I thought it was great. Lol...I feel that there should be incorrect grammar monsters...I could use one at least twice a day!
This isn't set in Sweden, it is set in what is today Germany. Sweden's army was a fearsome force within that region during that time though. Sweden was (and is) a Lutheran Protestant country and participated on the Protestant side of the conflict. Not that it mattered a lot in that conflict, various countries switched sides despite their religions.
@@ImmortalsInc I am Swedish and a history buff so this campaign appeals a little bit to me but at the same time it feels a bit too wild for a low fantasy historical setting with all the glass tigers, invisible insects, giant heads and so on. Not to mention the sorcerers and their pet monsters who work openly. Is it set in an alternate history where people in general are aware of all the weirdness and accept it as a part of reality?

first time I ran this, two of the players had just come back from Sweden and were enthusiastic about fighting Swedes
Lol...okay, that is funny.
Great conversation! I own several LOTFP books, and i find them to be high quality, enjoyable reads in and of themselves.
They are really great. They are not for everyone, and they give plenty of warning on that, but they are perfect for fans of horror and dark settings.

Thanks. Lol...I don't know if you can tell but I am barely hanging on with the historical references and time anyway!
