Merry Christmas and a Happy and prosperous New Year to you, Jim! Based upon actual video evidence, there's an argument here that snow plows may be the work of the Devil.
This was fun to watch for a bunch of reasons and I’m glad to observe you openly disavowing your right wing fan base. Actively pissing in the face of your main demographic is the most metal thing you’ve done in a while! All that said, I can’t imagine how you believe any of this will help boost book sales (if that’s even your goal). Again, I encourage you to put all of this energy (misspent in my opinion) on self care and into creating game content. The desire to screed your opinions and philosophy into the void, hoping it will land on favorable eyes and ears, is an understandable thing. I’m just not convinced it’s the best thing for you. The stoic, enigmatic, underspoken game author/publisher who answers to no one would have been a better path/choice - but no one asked my opinion (the damed allure of the comment window!). You do you, boo!
Ah, a most curious musing indeed! Your words paint a lively picture, like a tableau of snow-swept streets, echoing cries and mechanical graunching intermingling with theological discourse. The very notion of Satan's role splits worshippers like the Red Sea itself. For some, he's a shadowy fiend, the antithesis of all that is good and holy, lurking in the shadows to tempt and corrupt. But for others, he's a rebellious rogue, a countercultural champion against the pristine white snow of orthodoxy. I must confess, that virginal snowdrift trailing behind you adds a touch of whimsy to the discourse, like a celestial metaphor for the purity some seek. And the unexpected scream, well, that merely underscores the cacophony of opinions surrounding the Prince of Darkness. On Augustine and Pelagius, those dueling titans of theological thought, are most astute. Augustine, with his grim pronouncement of original sin, paints humanity as tainted from the cradle, forever burdened by the inherited stain of Adam's transgression. Pelagius, on the other hand, offers a glimmer of hope, suggesting we're born blank slates, susceptible to temptation yet ultimately free to choose our paths. As an atheist, I acknowledge the complexities of these debates, a wise stance in this theological blizzard. However, to brand Satan as the sole source of human wickedness feels, dare I say, a bit too convenient. It's an easy trap to fall into, blaming our transgressions on some external entity rather than confronting the darkness within ourselves. This scapegoating, has led to some rather grim chapters in history, where mental illness was demonized as being caused by the devil. Instead, perhaps we should view Satan as a symbol, not a literal scapegoat. A personification of the normal human temptations and flaws that reside within us all. So let the theological snowstorm rage on! For in the swirling flakes of debate, we may just discover truths that transcend mere labels and doctrines.
This articulates why I feel using the term "Satanist" is cringe af. Modern Satanism is basically just egalitarianism as a non theistic "religion", using the name "Satan" because it attracts edgelords.
I still think Fuck For Satan is the best title for a book. Maybe sharing the position with "Owls' Butts As A Mechanism To Achieve Freedom". Which is also a real title.
Your understanding of the Bible is way bettter than of many so-called Christians :D Up to the point I could call you my "brother in Christ" :P Jokes aside, a biblical Christian prefers picturing Satan as "a usurper, a tempter, a trickster...", not as a joke, because making the enemy of humanity a joke, don't we cheapen, decrease the God Himself? Happy New Year, good luck to all the projects, especially the one mentioned in the last livestream :)
Jim, coming from a Norse Pagan who does oracular work and recently-ordained minister holding a doctorate in Divinity, who buys a lot of books from LoTFP, lemme start by saying that your game is one for which I have the most books, second only to Castles & Crusades and maybe Basic Fantasy. I still love the game. I love the in-your-face edge and the up front profanity involved. Like I said when we were talking on my show (and whenever you're ready to come back just say the word and that spot is yours) it's like going to a GWAR show. I'm gonna love it, someone else is going to be horrified and at the end of the day, the one conclusion that needs to be reached is, it's not always for everyone. For me, the way you push the envelope while advocating for free speech is what matters. I don't care for "sides" and I certainly will never ask you to convert and Hail Odin if you didn't feel the desire to do so. Your use of Satanic Iconography and evil in your games give players something to battle or fall victim to and I'm good with that. The fact that you don't shy away from that which some may find offensive is one of the attraction points for me, personally. For me, I say keep on keepin' on. Mad respect, continued support.
I understand your point. I have been through various religious and atheistic paradigms in my life. I know satanism from practicing it as a CoS oriented Teenager and later as a theistic satanist.Nowadays I can smile at my past from a spiritual occult viewpoint (this means I figure things out by myself not following preset dogma or truth). It is all a jolly game😊
Dommage que votre gamme n'est plus suivie en france j'adorais votre univers, bon courage pour la suite. ---------------------------------- Too bad your range is no longer followed in France, I loved your world, good luck for the future.
As an aside, knowing everything is essentially consequence less and meaningless, existential style, we find the fun in our activities, finding meaning in what we make entirely. The knowledge itself has ruined some folks. That's death to some, so the Apple warning was half-true. Anyway, we find testy games and dark tricks amusing!
Ah some of the same points of many of the stories in the bible were absolutely shockingly horrible. Bears killing kids for making fun of baldness, Job, heck the idea of Moses and his forces coming into your area to kill everything and everyone. I had an old mentor who pointed many of those things out back in my late teens. I had been raised in the bible belt south and never had any challenges to the theology I was strictly raised in. Just look at the world we live in now? Where is God is a frequent question of believers. I am barely a Diest traveling through this life. Keep up the fantastic well thought commentaries and the fight for free speech for all, even if you disagree with them.
Good that you clarify your atheism. What kind of consistent principles or core ethics do atheists fall back on? I was thinking nihilism, ammorality & statism or in other words: "whatever is convenient for your own self gratification at any given moment" would be a good working definition of atheism ?
@robbyslilshadow1984 No, you are wrong. Your definition of atheism is more akin to how a very selfish person (like most people who belong to a religion) imagines how they would act if they were left unchecked. Your comment is a true reflection of yourself without the fear of your organized religion or god to make you mind your manners. It’s almost scary that is the conclusion you jumped to; it sounds like you are seeking self-gratification at any moment as long as it falls within your religious rules. There are no guiding principles of atheists, they can range from the very selfish to the very selfless (just like Christians). Just like Christians there might be outside forces like society and peers that influence their behavior, or their very own moral fiber. The big difference is they do not think a sky daddy is going to punish them or that following the rules will grant them an ever-lasting paradise. Atheists are just like you; they just believe in less fairy tales.
@@roninjotatan (since GRAMMAR polished & re-editted slightl since 1st posted) Thank you for taking the time to make a passionate reply. I'd sure like to know to what degree made you so utterly convinced you know what I believe. You're making assumptions. Maybe you think you're psychic about what context each and every moment of my life I face and all the ethical dilemmas I've faced, am facing, that gives you the gall, and arrogance to assume I'm chasing a myth "fairy tale" / "sky daddy" . Who T.F. are you to play arm chair pretense you have eye witness moments of my life in my mind where you don't reside? It just so happens FYI, as a "rational deist" / "progressive revelationist" / monotheist, admirer of Jesus Christ and some other Great Heroic people, I'm a little beyond the hypocritical bible thumping Midwest / Southern USA fundemental 1980's evangelical hypocritical Churchianity Christians in my personal beliefs and all that Patronizing condescension that comes with that (which James Raggi IV grew up around and complains about in OP VIDEO). I take the time to respect a lot of different based monotheist religions specified as having Messenger's of God . That includes prophet founders of the Baha'i Faith ), Buddhism, Islam, Judaism, Hinduism, the principle of "balancing science and religion" OK. So now you have some clarification about the type of non-atheist I am . Here's a piece of my mind put simply WHY I despise most self proclaimed atheists, especially when they vehemently insist and claim there is no God. This simple Christian Verse in a nutshell Matthew 7:15-20 "15 Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.16 Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?" And the legacy of some the worst FRUITLESS tyrannical governments ultimately despising and persecuting people of Faith: Adolf Hitler, Maoist China, Soviet Union, Pol Pot's Khmer rouge are some all time worst. and now the USA and Canada, are all becoming more pathetically commy / fascist / faketriotic / predator capitalist, and hating Good Faith adhering people who Love consistent moral spiritual ethical principles of their Great Prophet founders to where those People of Faith in God act decisively and confidently and Unified. Contrast that to Statists & commies especially (who are usually disrespecting a Loving God, regardless of whether they believe in Loving God, but rather deify the state) have proven the test of time to be Dicktators running a country full of Conniving Ubiquitous Neurotic Tyrants. Ad hominem insults such as "sky daddy" "fairy tales" is an atheist statist tactic far more than you give it credit for with false idols of statism . I dare say atheists lap up whatever retarded scientism "trust the science" in blind obedience, never daring to bite "the proverbial hand that feeds"m more than the Deists with some rational sense of Justice.
@@roninjotatan It’ "Seeking self-gratification at any moment as long as it falls within your religious rules. " ? I don't suppose it occurs to you that it's totally rational to have alleged "religious rules" with provisions of "of self-gratification freely" provided that "gratification" results in mutual pleasurable interactions between 2 individuals, without inflicting harm on others?
If that is any help - as far as I understand it, the "I am spiritual, but not religious" spiel translates to "I believe in some sort of supernatural power, but I am very skeptical of religious dogma and/or institutions".
It's weird that you mentionned the svastika, seeing it was very much a corruption of an existing symbol that had, and still has, a completely different meaning.
I'm quite drawn to satanism as it seems to give a nice aesthetic and bunch of archetypes and myths to what I already believe and practice as a contrarian nihilist selfist with a penchant for decadence and socialism.
Satan is the Angel of light, so his ideologies will seem appealing. He doesn’t appear as a hideous creature. Satan disobeyed God and said I will make my own rules, I shall be as God. That is pure Satanism, rejecting God and making your own rules.
It's the NAT2 gene. Our genome is hard wired to believe in a higher power. Some of us have it as a dominant gene & others, like us, have it less dominant. As Satanists we worship ourselves. I worship myself. I am my own God. The master of my own destiny. I'm atheist. I am a humanist that puts myself above others. We live once & that's it. No afterlife. Although I do enjoy reading mythology. The most well known piece of mythology is the Bible. I don't read it, but some parts are interesting to me. If the story of Job was real, then God is just an asshole with unlimited power.
You can't really say we're our brains either. The brain has no real fundamental control over anything it does. It would be more accurate to call ourselves the current and ever changing result of happenings and deeds going back infinitum. The individual 'self' is ultimately a contrivance of convenience as well.
