I had no idea the Grindhouse version also had a CD soundtrack copy! I must've missed that. I wonder how it compares to the old LP. Looking at it now it seems to be a version of the later GDM expanded reissue CD but with English track titles.
I love that soundtrack. I copied it to my iPod and was listening to it on a crowded subway once. When it transitioned from, "Run Man Run" into "The Wedding March" - I underestimated how much sound was bleeding out of my headphones because everyone gave me the strangest looks. Haha
I really felt some Naked Spur (1953) vibes in the movie, maybe is the bounty hunter thing Awesome movie, i remenber watching it in vhs dubbed in portuguese 😂
A few years ago I started tracking down as many Lee Van Cleef speghetti westerns as I could find because For a Few Dollars More is one of my favorite movies. The Big Gundown is my third favorite Lee Van Cleef film, after FAFDM and Death Rides a Horse. The Grand Duel and Day of Anger are also good. Captain Apache and God’s Gun, not so much. I have the Grindhouse blu of The Big Gundown.
I have both the US grindhouse release and the German release. I bought the German release because it offers the full Italian version with a original English mono mix just like you are talking about in this Indicator release. It has English subtitles for the scenes without the English audio. I wonder if the Indicator release of this is just the old German release?
I think they duplicated the work on their release. They do their own subtitles as well. I didn’t realize the German disc has that option so that’s good to hear.
A fantastic release. The only thing the Grindhouse release had over this was the soundtrack on CD.

The score of this movie is my favorite Morricone score ever. Better than the Leone masterpieces even. And it seems so few people know about it!

Just purchased this blu-ray last week and yesterday was randomly thinking you may have reviewed this....and BAM! pops in my feed today! Thanks!

Have you seen the grindhouse blu ray? Is it the same master/restoration?
I haven’t but it seems to be the same 2K master. I didn’t realize it had a CD copy of the soundtrack as well so I’d like to pick it up someday.
