Hey jedd, I do a lot of body weight strength training but I never really focus on grip. Practicing nail bending seems like a really old school and unique way to build hand strength as well as body tension. Would you say it's a good skill to implement into my training and give me added strength on the pull up bar?
That would be a stretch. While the grip and lats are important in a bend, I do not see a lot of carryover from bending to pull-ups in that way. Mental toughness? Yes. Pain tolerance? Yes. Hand toughening? Absolutely.
Hey Jedd. Im looking to get into nail bending and of course was directed to you. Just curious as to the main differences between the ebook and dvd asides from the obvious visuals haha. Is it the same info but for visual learners? Does the dvd have updates that may have been missed in the ebook? I do not think I am able to get both at this time thats why I ask. Thanks again!
Personally I can't get the bar under my chin like most benders. partially due to an old elbow injury that limits my range of motion. So I have to bend nails with my hands in front of my chest and elbows pointing down. It's worked for me so far.
+John Augustin That method sounds like something I call chicken winging. It works fine for lighter bars, but when it comes time to bend bigger bars, people often get handcuffed. I'd love to try to work with you to get your technique figured out through one of my coaching programs. Message me if you'd like more specific info, I think i recognize your name from Facebook, although, it might be someone else with your same name.
Well, I prefer underhand cuz it seems to be much harder than DO. Whenever I see someone starting to put a nail under his chin I just turn off the video. I'm not saying DO is easy, it is very very very very very difficult to even learn its technique, but I love doing something that requires much more effort. =)
All the Best For the Competition Jedd! 2HP RECORD!!
Thanks for this information! Hoping to get my first bend later tonight.
Awesome man. Keep me posted on how it goes brotherrrr.
