Just came across this video today so I know I am a little late but as a knitter I just wanted to add a recommendation. Eucalan Wool Wash is super popular in the knitting community as it is very delicate and is actually no-rinse so there is less chance of agitating the fibres. Definitely recommend that people check it out if you have wool sweaters! There are also other brands but I've only tried eucalan.
This is so helpful! Thanks so much for going through every little detail on how you handwash. So many youtubers barely explain how they do things but the clips at each step were really useful :)
Followed your instructions to a tee, used Eucalan wool wash on my Canberra and it looks exactly the same as before after 2 days of drying. I was a little worried because the wool smelled musty when it was wet but the smell went away after it completely dried. Thank you for this video!!
Although some may say the video is long and slow I feel that this process regarding ur fine wool clothing is just that, long and slow. Wool is delicate especially when wet as she states so gentle handling is required. The object is to clean without damaging not speed. If your into speed you may consider man made yarns or textiles like fleece (plastic). The creator does a great job my only qualm is the commercial she gently inserted within the video. Woolite, baby shampoo and other detergents will do the trick just fine. Less is more.
I hand wash almost everything…..a little tip you may consider is to gently place the heavy wet item inside an empty wash machine (not in a clump) and kinda place it along the outside circle of the drum then turn on the spin cycle. It’s will shorten the dry time considerably…..I even do this with cashmere. Small items I roll in a large, thick towel and press gently.
I can't imagine washing my sweaters every season..or even once a month.I was them after I wear them, I use lotions and perfumes all the time,so even if it's not super dirty, it would smell like a perfume shop 🤭🤣 I wash it gently, no rubbing. My tip would be also to not leave colored jumpers stained for long
Thank you for making this video! I can't wait to try this out. Do you have any at home tips for how to wash trousers, specifically from aritzia like the conan or tie front pant? :)
****EDIT****** LOL you answered my question in the video How often do you wash your Artizia sweaters? I wear them throughout the season of Fall and Winter and maybe wash them once or twice within that timeframe. They just require SO much effort and time to wash. Also, the less I wash them, the less they pill.
Haha it’s definitely a labour of love 😂 at this point I just accept that all my sweaters will pill sooner or later but having a de-piller has changed my life
so i have a vintage chanel style pink Adolfo at Saks cardigan, it needs to be cleaned to sell. Would you suggest i attempt handwashing or should i take my chances with a dry cleaner i dont know. Part of the reason for the question is i dont have much (any) experience with dry cleaners in general. it seems a gamble either way i go.
That's why I'm only going to buy a few, wool is a really good fibre for winter. But not only this washing carefully thing, but Moths also enjoy eating your clothes. They've wasted significant amounts of money for me and now I'm spending money to keep them away.... (But it's significantly lower than the money the moths will ruin)
Aritzia needs to put this video on their page!! The most non risky and easiest & quickest way to wash merino wool
Came here specifically because I bought a merino wool sweater from Aritzia 😁

I just thrifted a beautiful hand knitted, 100% wool sweater and this is VERY helpful, I was so scared to wash it not wanting to mess it up

Yay glad it worked for you! I've noticed the same smell too, I think it's just the way wool smells when it's wet :)

I actually own both the conans and the tie front pants and I just throw them in the wash on cold! They are both really low maintenance IMO ☺️
@@YukiWangUA-cam that's good to note. I'll try with cold water! 😊

Such a helpful video! Do you have tips for cashmere? Also would love to see a most worn jewelry video from you. You are always so chic!
I would follow a similar process to wash cashmere! And ty 🤍 my jewellery collection is tiny but I’ll keep that in mind!
This was so helpful thank you so much!! 🥰
Also what size is the rourke cardigan you are wearing?!
Thank you!! It's a size XS

Thank you! It’s linked in my latest video ☺️
I am tring to find the pattern for the cardigan on Ravelry. What is the name please? Can you please

Hi! What is the color of your cardigan?
hey i have a question…do you use softener?
Nope! Everything I do is in the video ☺️
@@YukiWangUA-cam okay thank you very much!!!
Haaaa I put mu cardigan on laundry they turned out bad if only I watch this video first😭😂
Haha oh no!! 😭
They may be salvageable. There are videos on gently stretching the wool fabric back to its original shape and size. Again maybe.
Would you recommended washing in cold water or lukewarm water?
I think somewhere in between is fine! I don't like using cold water because it gets too cold for my hand
very good tips!
Thank you ❤️
thanks big sis :)
Very helpful
Really helpful
That is why I don't get these kind of sweaters way too much work!!!!
