I just learned about Dr. Faribood Setna of Karachi passing away. I am sad to hear this news. I am also sorry that the Parsi community in Karachi is getting smaller and smaller. Some time ago, I was in Sukkur and while strolling about town, I came upon an abandoned building - at least it appeared that way. Upon further looking about, I notice the words “Mama Parsi...” inscribed on the front of the building. I imagine, at one time, many, many towns in the Subcontinent having an established Parsi community-center.

I just learned about Dr. Faribood Setna of Karachi passing away. I am sad to hear this news. I am also sorry that the Parsi community in Karachi is getting smaller and smaller. Some time ago, I was in Sukkur and while strolling about town, I came upon an abandoned building - at least it appeared that way. Upon further looking about, I notice the words “Mama Parsi...” inscribed on the front of the building. I imagine, at one time, many, many towns in the Subcontinent having an established Parsi community-center.
Mama Parsi is a popular school in Pakistan and is owned by a Parsi, the most famous universoty of Pakistan NED university is owned by a parsi, and Avari tower is one of the tall buildings of Pakistan and is also owned by a Parsi

@Abhijeet Das this is not the case. Hindu population was high in pakistan during partition. But after that majority of Hindus moved to India and when Bangladesh was separated from Pakistan. 10% of Hindu population in Bangladesh also separated from Pakistan which reduced overall Hindu % in Pak. But still millions of Hindus live in Sindh province of Pakistan and not a single hindu muslim riots in Pakistan after partition. Wheres India is notorious for mass massacare of Muslims stilp recently including Gujarat and Kashmir.
