- Vincent Willem Van Gogh was a 19th century post-Impressionist era Dutch painter. His innovative artwork used vivid colors and expressions bearing high emotional quality. Van Gogh’s prolific art had a powerful influence on modern art, especially 20th century painting styles using abstraction, fauvism, and expressionism. In his brief career, Van Gogh produced more than 2,000 artworks consisting 1,100 sketches and drawings and 900 paintings but managed to sell only one. His fame came only after his demise.

The colors! Oh the COLORS !
My fav ones are autumn landscape, another pair of shoes, branches with almond blossom, chestnut tree in blossom. Otherwise, i love them all!! ❤️ ❤️ good job, Vincent!!

My favourite is The Siasta. Love the way the way the wheat fields are painted. Look like a fields fill with gold

I had no idea he painted so many. They are really beautiful. I love all of them but if I was really forced to choose one, it might be 'Undergrowth - 1887' for the beautiful morning light. (It would have to be morning light...?) Oh Vincent, how beautifully you saw your world. Bravo.

I focus on one stroke -where is the next? or which stroke could have been before it? and my eye is drawn in the stream of color until my eye grasps another color and the focus shifts to following that color's strokes....following the strokes puts the painting in dizzying movement

Nobody would buy his paintings in his days so he got frustrated, he was so poor and could hardly buy his materials ,he asked his family not to distroy his works and for that reason we are able to admire his works,just a pitty that he lived in that time!!
