Pat Symonds on Senna, Schumacher, Alonso
“Fernando was incredibly competitive, had the same total self-esteem of Ayrton and Michael. They know they are the best. He was a great racer, not quite as outright quick as Michael, maybe, but still very, very quick. At the times I worked with them I’d say Michael was the quickest, then Fernando, then Ayrton."

Joan Villadelprat on Senna and Schumacher:
"Senna was in the best team, which was at that time, with 100 more horses than us who had the Ford-Cosworth engine, and we ate it ... until the accident came, but we were ahead in the championship. And it was not just because of Schumacher. It was one of these sweet moments, Benetton was in shape. In tire changes and pit-stops we were the fastest. In fact, we won several races for this. There was a change of regulation where we prepared ourselves better. It would have been nice to see the fight between Senna and Michael, but I am convinced that Michael would have won. Because seeing Senna, so many years and knowing him, knowing what it cost him, how he got out of the car, etc. and see Michael after races at 50 degrees, win them and get out of the car as if he had had a coffee ... The physical form that Michael had at that time and his mental strength, however natural Ayrton had, by a lot of skill, I would have overcome. For Ayrton it was a much greater effort than for Michael."

because he has been for 20 years, like no other driver, at competitive level, at age 37+ against kids half his age. Yes, he is that good. Often people forget he was 23 years old in 1992, thats a loooooong time ago and his energy was spent against Senna, Building Benetton and Building Ferrari.

Ferrari had not won anything in 10 years before Shuey came onboard. Williams was the best car most of his career. And later Mclaren. How many races did his teammates at Benetton or Ferrari win? He out qualified his teammates by almost a full second sometime. Senna finally got his wish to drive Williams. Shuey still beat him, in a Cosworth ford.

At minute 1:24 appears a shadow on the left side of the car, on the track. Its a kite. Some guy threw the kite in cars. The mechanics of Williams take it at minute 2:24 of Montoya's car. It was decorated with the flag of Great Britain. I know all this because I was there that day. The kite remained in the sky two hours before the start of the race.

X Leonardo.

The stewards used to let that stuff go. You could swerve all over the track and cut people off. Schumacher was famous for squeezing people at the exit. If you tried to pass him and you didn't get far enough up, you were going for a trip onto the grass every time. The tires used to be bulletproof too, they'd snap off a front wing and do the rest of the stint no problem.
