Geezer Butler, the band's bass player, has variously said the song is about an incident where skinheads attacked Ozzy for having long hair and that the second half of the song is about LSD. In his autobigraphy, Ozzy himself says he can't recall what inspired the song. The most believable story claims it's about the occasion Geezer and Ozzy were smoking weed in a park and had visions of fairies in boots dancing about. Whatever the truth is, it's one of the most beloved songs among fans of the group. Thanks Miss Blondie and Harri.
In his book, Geezer says the skinheads chased him and the rest of the band came to his aid and they beat the heck out of the skinheads. Apparently, Tony was terrifying and very tough, when he wanted to be.
It’s hard to get much more real music in your face just old-school rock ‘n’ roll no tricks just jammin! They were all meant to be together in Sabbath! That band broke boundaries that needed to be broken. Music would not have been the same without them and other bands like deep purple.
Black Sabbath formula - transition transition transition. Love how they do it so seamlessly and get back to the killer original riff by the incredible Tony Iommi.
Incredible, early performance by these guys, that entire concert is worth a look. Like Led Zeppelin and the Who, these guys were blessed with someone on each instrument who is amongst th best ever, Ozzy might not be as great a technical vocalist as others but he is unique with a perfect style for this band and there was no more exciting frontman in the history of Rock than Ozzy Osborne. Also a shout out to the other 3 band members, Tony Iommi on guitar, Geezer Butler on bass and Bill Ward on drums, they are in my top 10 at each instrument, they are that good. Try War Pigs from the California Jam in 1974, 4 years and 5 stellar albums later make them an even better band by then, tremendous performance in front of a quarter million fans. Enjoy! 🎵🎸🎤🎸🎶
I was about 12 when this album (Paranoid) came out, and I was hooked for life. I was finally able to see them perform back in 2016, although Bill Ward (their drummer) sat that tour out. This is great stuff, and I'm surprised at how early this video was by Ozzy mentioning that if was from their "new album".
Thank you for such a enthusiastic reaction Harri Geezer Butler is easily in my top 3 bassists The whole band is killing it here especially the rhythm section Love and Music 🎵✌️🎶💜
From their 2nd album, "Paranoid" from 1970, a song apparently with LSD, and heavy pot smoking and Ozzy being called a fairy by skinheads who wear boots in a park. There were 2 tracks on this song that were released in America with an instrumental insert called Jack the Stripper. Tony Iommi's heavy riffs, with Ozzys piercing vocals and the prominent bass line by Geezer Butler adds extra layers of depth to this great tune. The dark enigmatic lyrics, with the heavy musicality show the power of Black Sabbath. Great reaction Harri. Thanks Harri and Miss Blondie. 👏👏 Cheers from Canada. 🇨🇦
Good one Harri. Yeah Tony injured his fingers working in a factory like a day before they went off on the long journey to rock stardum. Just about anyone else would have been stopped by that but not Tony. He knew it was his only way out.
Another great request Ms. Blondie...love Black Sabbath. My first album as a child was Sabbath Bloody Sabbath. I had a friend that had older brothers and sisters who owned the album...they let me borrow it and never got it back. Best song to me( on that album) is A National Acrobat. Thanks for the reaction. ❤ 6:18
Tony lost his finger tips just as the band took off. I think he used plastic bottle caps, melted and moulded into shape, and also de tuned his guitar with lighter strings which helped him find his unique sound.
As The Who is my favorite I'll give it them but Geezer and Ward are top tier The whole band are incredible musicians and Ozzie's voice is icing on the cake
@@missblondie2393 Tony Iommi is finally getting his due as he rises in various polls on best guitarists, he is often in the top 20 and O did see him in a top 10 last years. All 12 members in those 3 bands are.on the Rock Mt Olympus for me.
Metal before there was metal. The pioneers.
Yes yes yes
I love watching Ozzie headbanging to the music
Geezer Butler is a top tier bassist.
Oh he's incredible
My top 3
John Entwistle and Lemmy must get a shout-out

Phenomenal musicians. Hard to top.
These had real band chemistry.
Black Sabbath 1968-eternity🤘.I have so many live of Black sabbath from different eras but it's my favorite bootleg live.
I enjoyed this one Miss Blondie. The drummer is impressive and well, Ozzie is Ozzie. Nice choice. Thanks Harri and Miss Blondie. 🌺✌️
Glad you liked it Debbie
The rhythm section is incredible

Tony is incredible and often isn't mentioned for his greatness as well as the fabulous Geezer Butler
But those that know, know
🎵✌️🎶
I believe it was "trippin' and smokin". The studio cut says it the other way around.
MY ABSOLUTE FAVORITE! LOVE LOVE LOVE Black Sabbath! All of Ozzy’s music is incredible!

CLASSIQUE!!😅❤❤❤
Love this song! A band called Brown Sabbath covered it and it was fire. Normally not a fan of covers but holy cow it was amazing, check them out.
This whole concert is amazing.
I'm going to check it out
I was fortunate to come across this clip

I just recently found this video and couldn't believe how great they sounded live
Love Ozzie's headbanging too
🎶✌️🎵
You should watch their last concert ever. In London. You will see that Ozzy was truly a MASTER show man.
You mean in Birmingham , their hometown
Right on. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you for such a enthusiastic reaction Harri
Geezer Butler is easily in my top 3 bassists

Yes he lost part of his fingers on his fretboard hand in a good few years before this.
The energy and transitions are staggering. Of course, I'm digging the drummer. 1970 live performance. Wow!! Nice pick Miss Blondie. 🤘🤘🤘
Glad you liked it Imadrummin and I had strong feeling you'd love the drumming
Rhythm section was on fire here
🎵✌️🎶🥁
Bill Ward fun to watch
Good one Harri. Yeah Tony injured his fingers working in a factory like a day before they went off on the long journey to rock stardum. Just about anyone else would have been stopped by that but not Tony. He knew it was his only way out.
Omg, Harri!! I love this one. It's a great tune. Jazz/metal/psychedelic fusion of fun.
Thanks Harri, The fathers of metal showing how it's done. Thankyou bud.
Hand of doom from the same concert a must ,maybe one the first hiphop drum beats 🤔with heavynes from guitars and deep lyrics about Vietnam 😁👍
Great choice. This entire show is famous for how raw it is.
I recommend Children Of The Grave from the Reunion album. The best version of that song.
Geezer IS one of the best Bassist in the World

🤘😈🤘
Loved it, and at one point in my life lived it
This song is about the skinheads they saw wearing combat boots when they growing up. Geezer wanted to write a song about what assholes they were.
So cool to watch your face as it progresses! Amazing hey? Love your comments too.
The wizard is another interesting track to checkout imo
He’s already reacted to it.
Yes but perhaps others have not? @@shspurs1342
🤘
Tony Iomi played with prostetic finger tips. Lost them whilst welding
I remember when I learned how to play this and set my guitar pedal just right,. There is so many transitions from riff to riff.
smoking and tripping mate.dope and acid
Ozzy has a haunting voice…
These bruthas smoke! Seen them a few times.
The Torture Never Stops (Frank Zappa). Please!!
hand of doom ...
Name me a better rhythm section...Entwistle and Moon perhaps.
Yep 👍😁👊
Tied with the Who and Led Zeppelin, for me, what those 3 bands did is the standard for all Rock.
As The Who is my favorite I'll give it them but
Geezer and Ward are top tier
The whole band are incredible musicians and Ozzie's voice is icing on the cake

Ozzy definitely did too many drugs which is why he got kicked out of Black Sabbath silly Ozzy 😅
Quicksilver messenger service the fool please review this harrie
Always prefered Deep Purple! 😁😁
Okay 👍 good for you
They're excellent as well
Love them both
🎵✌️🎶
No match in the long run against the Sabbs
Gary Richraft flying turkey trot live REO Speed wagon best guitar solo better than Eddy V
Doctor said all he did was tripping and smoking
I alway thought this was an anti-war song but it's not.
War Pigs.
Faries wear boots was a dig at skinheads with their big boots. The band got attacked one day by skinheads
Ferrys wear boots makes me what to just go wild
