Andy is using the Superstore sample data in Tableau and has it pre-filtered to December for one year. Drag Order Date to Filter and select "Month / Year" and select December for one of the years (or any month and year combination). There is a blog post that outlines the steps in further detail here. www.thedataschool.co.uk/anuka-teggart/how-to-create-a-calendar-in-tableau/. Andy also has two other videos on the topic that you might find helpful. ua-cam.com/video/uAWnXuC8vo8/v-deo.html and Lorna's video here. ua-cam.com/video/eN47qPZRPo0/v-deo.html
Custom Shapes are loaded in Documents->My Tableau Repository->Shapes->[shapes folder]. You can put in PNG, JPG, etc. The reason they came up automatically is because Andy preset them, so he didn't have to click on each one in the presentation. Because they are assigned once already (color and shapes), when he used the Name field, they auto assigned again. So the extra step here would be assigning each name to an individual shape once you have them loaded. Hope this helps.
Good eye! This was not using the new Viz in Tooltips method. It was created using an old method of using ASCII characters to make bar charts in the tooltip. interworks.com/blog/interworks/2010/09/29/charts-inside-tooltip-yes-we-can
Ting Yuan Here is a blog post with links to download the grid files. Starting with Tableau 2018.2 there is now a show grid option and setting in the Dashboard menu.www.dataplusscience.com/DesignGrid.html

At 16:00 minutes a calendar is created. The worksheet already has a filter to begin with; how do I create that filter?

Wait what? At 19:50 he just pushes the shape button and photos appear. Where the hell did they come from? The Excel file?
Custom Shapes are loaded in Documents->My Tableau Repository->Shapes->[shapes folder]. You can put in PNG, JPG, etc. The reason they came up automatically is because Andy preset them, so he didn't have to click on each one in the presentation. Because they are assigned once already (color and shapes), when he used the Name field, they auto assigned again. Just made a map using this function for soccer teams. It turned out great. I though the whole shape thing was for the paid version. Guess not.
Many thanks!!!
