The Legend Plate "When used on a certain Pokemon, it allows that Pokemon to gain the power of every type there is." But what does that mean?
Apparently it means that Arceus can hit any enemy with a super effective Judgment - and destroy everything.

Edit: as it was pointed out, steel is super effective against fairy, but only base effective against psychic types. So it’s 2x damage not 4x. However, both psychic and faerie are weak against steel, so it makes sense that it was chosen for that reason!
Psychic types are NOT weak to steel types.
@@liltone9614 psychic damage IS weak against steel type pokemon. But steel type damage is not super effective against psychic type pokemon- just base effectiveness.

We finally have a movie accurate Arceus. I was kinda worried this would make Arceus literally all types at once, meaning it would only be weak against Rock, unless you use smack down, at which point it becomes super weak against ground.
@Is really toasty here because flying, fire, ice, and bug, are all weak to rock while grass, water, and steel are the only types that resist rock
@@HORRIOR1 Water and Grass don't resist Rock, they're just super effective. Fighting, Ground and Steel are what resist Rock.

thats ok. alls it need is to outspeed the rock user or smackdown user (which isnt a tall order at all) and use judgement. the weakness no longer matters.
If it were to change type when the opponent attacks as well it would be movie accurate , but this is the closest we have gotten so far
It's actually not just changing judgement into the most effective element against the pokemon you battle but he uses the legendary plate to change to the element he can be most effective against the pokemon he is facing,you can see it especially when he fights alakazam , he turns into dark type. You can see how he is changing his element, so he not only benefit offensively but defensively as well.
yes you are right, probably could have stated that more clearly- its basically its type changes and judgement is used in the same type that arceus is.

@@keepitsimple8568 It'll be AG incredibly easy.
Due to how gameplay works in Legends Arceus it is easier for opponents to combat the type change on switch it due to there being no turns + having access to moves supereffective against their counter type. This doesn't work the same in mainline games.
Choice Specs/Scarf Arceus with legends plate will be unbeatable, instantly changing to a 2x or 4x judgement stab with whatever it's fighting + having a speed tier that only Zacian (another AG Pokemon) could counter? It'd be insane, impossible to defend yourself unless you have a bulky Pokemon with pressure to wither away its limited Judgements. Either way, if that tank is already down Arceus essentially gets to takeaway 5 of your Pokemon for free without you being able to do anything, completely busted in singles format. In doubles it might also be quite good if you cannot predict what type it'll turn into.
@@SadMoribund in the main series, Arceus would still have to hold its plate, right? Not that a lack of a choice item is a huge nerf in turn for being able to switch into the ideal counter type. However, I think they should implement it's Legend Plate, as it's just a form it can still be used like usual while with its Legend Plate it's only playable in AG. That's is basically where Arceus deserves to be, in some way.
@@LupoTosk96 Good point, I forgot plates were held items. In this case Arceus essentially dominates every fragile Pokemon in ubers, its incredible bulk speed and attack mixed with essentially being able to counter every Pokemon in the game no matter the context is still remarkably overpowered whilst still remaining unpredictable. Max speed and offense investments would allow it to wreck havoc, fittingly so for the god of all Pokemon. The only possible counter measures in Ubers is possibly pressure users like Dialga who could switch in; take a judgement and leave it on less PP. Even then, Arceus' naturally incredible movepoll makes this impossible to determine. Since it could become a ground type after hitting Dialga and be carrying Earth Power, allowing it to gain stab and finish off Dialga whilst savoring its judgement PP. Endless amount of strategies on one rightfully busted Pokemon.
Legend Plate making Arceus rightfully the most powerful Pokemon, just be lucky it doesn't change Arceus's type to whatever takes least amount of damage or no damage when it's being attacked, like becoming a Ground type when about to be attacked by an Electric type.

He means like in the movie when Arceus insta changed when attacked so it would either be not very effective or immune to damage.
@@23Raind it choses the most effective type, if there is a tie it choses the one that resist or is immune to the primary type of the opponent, if there is a tie again it choses the one that resist both pokemon types and if there is a tie again it choses at random between the best ones
Bro would be immune to 8 types, resistant to all else and immune to all status except sleep from non grass moves and immune to prankster moves ☠️☠️☠️

Calm mind- for things that cant OHKO you followed by easy heal with recover to boost all your defenses
Recover- heal up after bulking up
Judgement- always a one hit KO
Mystical Fire- Good coverage, & gaurantees lowering opponents attack making it easy to heal & buff up using calm mind
Could switch out Mystical Fire for Refresh, as it will cleanse all status effects from you making it immpossible to toxic stall you and etc.

1:16 correction steel types are not super effective against psychic. Please read the type weakness charts again. It also take into account resistances. For your Gardevoir example the reason it didn’t pick poison type was because Gardevoir was psychic and poison is weak to psychic.
My bad you’re right. Both psychic and fairy type are WEAK against steal type- that’s where I probably mixed it up.

@@ItsShatter psychic weaknesses are only weak to dark, bug and fighting. But thanks for the tag. If you have a dual type like bug/fighting, the legend plate judgement will always choose flying because it’s 4x effective

Going forward this plate and the blank plate should be available in each game it’s awesome and the new animation for Judgment is cool
Not possible since the only reason there is a normal plate in legends is cause pokemon cant hold items like main games.
Hopefully in Scarlet and Violet, maybe we will get the Legend Plate at some point in the DLC.

If he comes to the main line games, no one will never be safe to switch on when facing Arceus.
Well good news is that legend plate decides the move type before the enemy goes so it might use the optimal attack against the original target and ignore the switched target

it doesnt need mega stones. it doesnt need a stat change. it doesnt need to undergo primal reversion. it doesnt need gigantamax nor dynamax.
all it needs is the legend plate and judgement. and suddenly.... were reminded why they dont call it the original one for nothing.
Remember, the legend plate is treated as a form changing key item like the gracidea or splicer, not a form changing held item. Because of this, we know that it will keep its form upon being traded up to later games, games where held items exist. This means it will be possible to scarf your legend plate arceus
If you invest in the right EVs and give it a speed raising nature after you trade it up, not many Pokémon will outspeed it. Due to its high SpA and STAB 100 bp move, it will be nearly unstoppable
Also this would be really predictable for switch ins

you can have infinite arceus but it may take a while because you will have to play through the game multiple times which takes forever but imagine having a full team of arceus and maybe in gen 9 we will be able to transfer arceus
And it's not even the real Arceus, just a projection of it.

Because each Plate has its own text to read. In this regard, the Legend is nothing unique.

This isn't even getting into how it benefits Arceus defensively: Legend Plate Arceus also takes into account the opponent's type in terms of defense. For instance, it will prioritize water or rock against a fire type since, even though Ground is also super-effective, rock and water resist fire. It is Judgement having a bit of Ultra Instinct applied to it.

Does this work only offensively? For example, if a fighting pokemon came in to revenge kill the arceus that turned dark to kill a psychic type, does arceus change defensively?
Nope. He only changes when you use the judgment move. So you do run the risk of being countered
Thats not a bad thing imo. Would be very very broken otherwise. Still even in the mainline competitive games you would need to outspeed which only s handful of pokemon do. Unless the mechanics change next gen.

The only time Arceus changes type is when it uses Judgment and is determined by the type of the enemy pokemon, not the type of the moves it is using.

Besides Normal type, I dont think Arceus can use any Ghost type Judgement when using Legend Plate since when opponents were 2x weak to Ghost type, they are usually 2x weak to Dark type as well, so Dark type Judgement is always chosen since it is more advantage in term of defence
just like againts Dragon, Arceus will change into Fairy type instead of dragon type
@@alterbolo3362 after writing that comment, I found out judgement did change into ghost type when against Gallade and dragon type when against Palkia
The Legend Plate has one minor flaw - it changes defensive type based on the _first_ type in a Pokemon's typing. For example, a Water/Dragon type like Palkia or the new Walking Wake would cause Arceus to change to a Dragon type of Arceus uses Judgement, not a Fairy type. Why? Because while Fairy is immune to Dragon, it is not super-effective or resistant to Water. Dragon is resistant to Water, even though it is also weak to Dragon. Therefore, a Choice Scarf Walking Wake could come in on Legend Plate Arceus and potentially win if it turned into a Dragon type.
Imagine this was allowed in the competitive games 💀.

that's kinda boring tbh. instead of letting you strategize which Arceus type fits better on your team and rewarding you for getting all the plates, it makes all other plates obsolete and you're basically stupid if you use them. I'm kinda curious what the plate would've done if abilities and the Tynamo line were in the game. probably nothing or would've changed Arceus to something that resists Electric and that hits it neutrally.
Nah Arceus needed the throne. Kinda stupid the god of pokemon was shit compared to things like Kyogre/groudon etc in older gens. Pokemon can still revenge kill him & judgement has only 5pp.
The legend plate cant be turned off? I used it, it activates, but not again to turned off...

You use a different plate (blank for Normal type for example) to “turn it off” you’re just switching to a different plate.
But the blank/normal type would be the closest to default Arceus from original diamond and pearl games
