Benefit of skill based damage: good players who dominate will most likely keep playing regardless. Bad players won’t get dominated and won’t quit the game.
I understand that is the objective, my issue isn't even with the methods. It's the concealment, the obscuration, the lies. If they were up front, and especially if they offered a 'pure' ranked mode for people to play? I'd be forced to let them go ahead without objection. Because there's people out there that want it that way.
Here’s my take for the justification of SBD… It’s simply a progression of SBMM. Simply rig the game on the fly rather than have players quitting games and lobby surfing. Activision know players who are happy to spend money on dlc, so it makes sense to target them for a better gaming experience. Plus long term, it can limit the amount of servers that are needed to host all these skill brackets, especially when it affects ping. Also, golf and other sports have ‘handicap’ systems to balance games. Why not do the same to video games? Players will never truly know because vague gun stats and server issues will always create the smoke and mirrors needed.
My counter to the 'company would never do this because it won't make money' is that it happens surprisingly often: A company makes a decision that turns out to be the wrong one. Effectively, someone made an argument that this thing (skill based damage) would be a net benefit to the company's bottom line. The management accepted this argument and whatever (if any) evidence was presented to that point, invested the resources and... it's not having the effect they wanted. History is replete with examples of this happening to businesses, governments and organizations.
I wouldn't put it PAST them doing this, but theres no concrete proof of it, and thats the problem. Horrible damage dropoff, 0 headshot multiplier, shitty wallbang damage, bad servers? yes! sbd, no.
I think you are missing the point. The financial benefit for skill based damage is plainly obvious to me. Because they have done it in the past with proof of it being done with sbmm. Put your average player that plays win or lose 2-5 hrs a day up against players that hop on only when a new skin or new season starts. These average player that normally don't spend in the store but on occasion will be matched up against sweats that do spend on skins and operators in a bid to get the average player to buy that skin. Now take it with skill based damage. A skin or skins they want to push all of a sudden keep winning out over other guns and versions of that gun. It's not boosted damage but its the damage of the ones not using that skin that get affected. Think of it as buying that skin take away the damage handicap.
I think if I was still playing warzone I would just unload a mag on a wall. Then go engage enemies. Maybe that will help. Lmao. I quit MMOs probably around the beginning of this year. Went back to single player games. I dont regret it. I might get black ops 6 for the campaign once I can see some reviews, and move to my new place.
name a weapon load out, it takes a split second to check what you named it, imagine if every shot fired had to go through the same process, skill based damage it not a thing. but another player putting a few shots in before you makes all the difference

It's not even that complicated. Based on the patents I suspect that when you buy skins skill based damage favors you.
Blame Truth recommended you in a video. Subscribed for sure.
Love that guy.

I just want to be clear, i say it all the time when i KNOW i won because of SBMM. Even gunfights i KNOW i lost but somehow won. I aint biased

This garbage has absolutly no place in a gale with a competitive scene
