Another great video Roy. Thanks so much for posting it for us all to enjoy. What a fantastic selection of traction on show - those were the days! Well done BR and well done Roy for capturing it all. Vivian.
There were a lot of specialist wagons on display there that day and subsequent open days. I know because I put them together and begged stole and borrowed from everywhere to get them ! We tried to make it as varied as possible of course back then we had the Speedlink network to rely on to get the vehicles from all over the country. You could not do it now.
Great vid. Watching those two Cromptons with people stood near by, Heath and Safety would have a fit now! Open Days from the 80's were great.
Well said!
Thanks for the film Roy, proper open day. I guess there is nothing left now, all trace of the railway gone from this site.
Yes, all we are left with is our memories.
What a selection. Brilliant.
Looks like a great day was had. Shame it's all gone now.
Thanks for sharing Roy. 👍
Yes it was Ian, H&S would have a field day if they brought them back!

Glad you enjoyed it Vivian, The BR open days were very popular back then
That Shell wagon (TOPS Code PXV, number SUKO50000) at around the 1:50 mark is a training vehicle for staff handling LPG wagons.
Thanks for the info Neil, I didn't know that.
