Relaxing ? I always watch the old RE gameplays when i wanna be scared and feel so alone that i wanna be in a dead menacing environment where everything wants to kill me ^___^. Hmmmm now that i think about it..... you're right, it's really kinda relaxing.
The Saturn version is a little bit more charming than the PS1 version was and I said that and my favorite console of all times is PS1... and Im french !
i'm still torn between which version is better this or Remake , but i honestly prefer the original , there's an oldschool early 3D charm , character and different kind of Immersion in these 5th gen games that's hard to explain. it was a very experimental generation where huge leaps were made and technology was moving so fast. everything was so awkward yet unique and lo-fi ish. i think i prefer the grittier imperfections of this version , i love the uncanny valley look of 5th gen games in general. both version are top notch though. i feel the same way about RE2 , original PS1/N64/DC versions beat out the modern remakes imo. it's all stylistic preference but unique 5th gen "uncanny valley" realism with tons of character wins over ultra realistic clean character for me , i just get more atmosphere and immersion in the former.
Yeah. I like what you're saying. The 1996 graphics allow you to fill in some blanks with your imagination while still getting photorealism in the cut scenes. I feel that it's good because it allows you to use your imagination more and even put yourself in the hero's shoes a bit more either as Jill or Chris because their faces are a bit more obscure and the sharp boundary between in-game graphics and cut scenes is great. When the graphics get super-realistic and the need for cut scenes with live actors faded the visual world of these games arguably became more one dimensional.

Games had completely different meaning back then. Entertainment for nerds. In 90s we could only watch cartoons, then play Super Mario, then Sonic, and then BOOM - Resident Evil. It was epic. And it was getting better and better...
@@GSS1Sirius I just beat the original PS1 version for the first time and loved it. It was goofy and the voice acting was terrible but it has a kinda of charm. Yes and No. The Saturn version has a better rendering in the game environment (which are 2D), while the Playstation version is better in the 3D models (cleaner and more defined). Anyway, both versions are superb! ❤ 😊 ✨
you can't go wrong either way, but if you were to compare the character models between each version, you'd notice that the sega's models are less detailed compared to thier playstation counterpart. The saturn's advantage was that it had the battle mode and the playstation did not. At the end of the day, if you own a Sega Saturn already and you just so happen to own a Sega Dreamcast, then the Saturn version is definitely the version to go for. That way, you can play resident evil 1, 2, and 3 as well as Code Veronica without having to buy extra game systems and hardware.
Even so, the version for PS1 is better, and even the transitions to loading rooms are noticeably faster there, loading opening doors .. and you can also notice that in the version on PS1, 26:46 looking in inventary the blue 💎 crystal it is noticeably better worked out by programmers than on Saturn ( for the Sony version the crystal is glossy and transparent, on Saturn it is simply matte.
@user-ey7uy5qz2u In his early life, as an adult, Chris Redfield joined the United States Air Force, where he received flight training for both planes and helicopters. He served in a unit alongside Barry Burton, whom he befriended. Redfield held strong convictions that often put him at odds with his senior officers, and he either resigned in protest or was discharged for insubordination. During this period Redfield also trained with a variety of weapons, including knives, and was known for his skills in hand-to-hand combat and marksmanship, which he won a contest for. After leaving the Air Force, Redfield was scouted in 1996 by the Special Tactics and Rescue Service (S.T.A.R.S.), a special law enforcement unit in Raccoon City. He accepted the invitation and was appointed point man for Alpha Team, where his flexible talent for precise handling of multiple firearm types earned him distinction as the unit's top marksman.

@Gustavo M. de Oliveira The reason why I turned on my own axis for a few seconds after killing the large "Black Tiger" Spider on its egg sack is because after killing the large "Black Tiger" Spider, a huge amount of "Baby Spiders" will emerge from its parent's egg sack. That way, you can walk over the Baby Spiders and crush them while they are emerging from its parent's egg sack.
There’s tons of reasons why the Sega Saturn failed and the PS1 succeeded. First of all, the PlayStation was Sony’s first entry into the gaming industry and this gave them a clean reputation to start off with, meanwhile Sega made some embarrassing decisions such as the Sega CD and Sega 32x which was really unnecessary especially since the try we’re making the Sega Saturn. The Sega Genesis was great for its time, but by 1994 it was basically being milked. Secondly is the processors of each console, the PS1 architecture was pretty much going out on 3d games and they only used one processor to make it 3d. And Sega however used two custom Hitachi processors, one for rendering 2d and the other for rendering 3d. Because of the PS1 having an easier dev kit than the Sega Saturn, this made developing games on the Saturn difficult plus the two processors kind of like the N64 except the Saturn sold worse than the N64. Why exactly you might be wondering? Well it’s because they thought it would be a good idea to not announce the console and instead surprise launched it at the first E3 1995 with a price of $399 while the PS1 was $299 and the N64 was $199. The Sega Saturn also didn’t have a main Sonic game other than Sonic R and Sonic 3d blast which are spin off games. This is because Sega spent most of their time porting arcade games to their console such as Daytona USA, Virtua Fighter, and Sega Ages. In other words, Sega not only made a console that’s hard to develop games on by giving a over complex architecture, they made it expensive to buy and only made a dozen or so original games for it and as a result most games on the Sega Saturn were third party games ported from the PS1 , N64 or arcade. I’m not even finished but lastly let’s talk about marketing, we already said it had a surprise launch well even the advertising sucked, Sega Saturn launch advertising is amazing but later in the years when N64 came along, their advertising got crappy, the commercials didn’t explain how the Sega Saturn was better and instead said they have more games the N64 without explaining what makes them good, and their attempt at roasting Nintendo or PlayStation were really lazily made and unfunny. Meanwhile every developer wanted to make games for PlayStation because it was cheaper and less time consuming. But wait there’s more! Sega used quadrilaterals instead of triangles for rendering polygons on models because it would allow them to use less polygons and make rendering time faster this instead made the architecture even more unfamiliar with developers. The Sega Saturn definitely wasn’t a bad system because it did have good games made by Sega such as Nights into Dreams and Bulk Slash, however most of the good games were only in Japan and that’s why it was more successful in Japan and the Sega Saturn was discontinued for the Dreamcast before these games could be ported over to America. If Sega was more smart with designing the Sega Saturn and spent more time with making Saturn games instead of making Genesis add ons and porting arcade games, the Sega Saturn could have had a better chance against PlayStation and maybe Sega could of stayed in the console market because the Sega Saturn pretty much tarnished Sega’s reputation with its audience.
