    I'm sure it's the right route for Russ but don't be afraid of doing the slower traditional route either if that works for you. For me it allows greater absorbing of info.

    Simply amazing. That timeline is very impressive. What you and John have done with Airplanes & Coffee is also very impressive. Proud to know you.

    👍✅ Great story, takes lots of courage to take that leap. Was that Jay and Rudder in the group photo?

    Of course this is highly fast and impressive. But always think, that’s all theoretical and you passed. You did the math. You are licensed. But now built carefully your practice and practical experience. Built your flight time with care and responsibility. Great story.

    Love your pilot story as I am currently a middle school principal who is making a career change to aviation (Commercial Pilot and CFI). I applaud your mindset to leave education as a school principal and take that JUMP. Would love to chat with you more about your journey if possible. Way to goooooooooo.

    Proof it can all be done in the minimum hours the FAA has set. I was told the average at my 141 school for PPL was 50-55 hours. I did my XC solo in about 50, but had over 80 by the time I took my checkride. I was flying 3-5 days a week sometimes double lessons in a day and scored 90's in the ground school. Schools are milking students for hours. There's a clear conflict of interest.

    In 3 months with American flyers and have CFI and multi CFI that was minimum 100k

    so what's he doing now and what is his annual income from flying?

    • @kimberlykeith1476

      He and I retired from education and are now REALTORS. John, Russ and I are The Flying Real Estate Agents. The income from flying is based on meeting our clients at various airparks or flying them there to show properties in Texas.

      Wow that's fast.. I could have never did hours a day as a student.. my instructor always wore me out a couple hours of flying as a student and I was done for the day.. great job

    You can't do 8-12 hours of learning a day and expect to retain all that information. I'd be very skeptical of flying with him and how much he knows. Yes he's got the hours, but does he have the experience

      Licenses are just licenses to go learn. Thats why airline and charter require well over 1000 hours. He mentions he instructed for years which locks in a lot of knowledge. He also mentions that this marathon of learning was 18 years ago.

    • @FlyingNDriving
      @FlyingNDriving 15 днів тому

      @@RustyCoon he never got his license from the FAA, they don't give out those. I don't care how many years of instructing he's got now I'm talking about how weak he would (most likely) have been to a ppl who took a year and did 3hr lessons instead of firehosing and remembering enough to pass. [They issue certificates]

    GOOD for you Sir !... but as I've heard from others ... "All is well until All is not well"... one little medical issue etc. in the path of life and KABOOM,..... no more Coffee or Planes.... consider yourself darn lucky up this point... ... ask me how I know.

    At any moment you can become medically unqualified.
