Speaking to my friends in Montalcino I heard that also 2016 is an exceptionally good year. Now I have stayed there with them in 2016 and I remember that about 3 weeks before the vendemmia (harvest), we had two thunderstorms. At the time they were a bit occupied by that, but now they say it turns out just great because of these. Any thoughts on that?
That’s very exciting to know!! We normally would’ve tasted samples of 2016 in trade tasting last year (2020) but pandemic happened... I can’t wait to try them in the future when things go back to normal again!

@@angiesomm9511 If you know Montalcino you must know Banfi. We went there last year right after Lockdown and created a beautiful fairytale video there, and we were able to taste their Brunello at the same time. Really marvelous.

I visited Italy in 2019 and this region. Brunello di Montalcino was the first glass of wine I had when I landed. Beautiful place and wine.

@@angiesomm9511 Thank you! I’ll be visiting Montalcino in October. Do you have a recommendation for a tour?
Hi Angie, WSET says total aging is 5 year & CMS says 4 year for basic brunello & 5 year for reserva. What is your opinion ???
Please do a video on Barbaresco and Barolo!
Just posted a video on Barolo!
