The frontside 50 50 grind on the pool coping is sick! Keep it up!

Showing exactly all the scenarios of what may go wrong while gradually improving and how to fall without seriously hurting one's self. Really great stuff. Very much inspired to get a move on while I still can.

I wish I had more time to share and practice. I love it and during coving started again and skated every day I had a chance. Now it’s only ones a week some times even ones every two weeks.

A good 5050 is always a great feeling. I learned to frontside 5050 in pools by carving into them (don’t lift the front truck) and using your momentum to push yourself up on top of the coping (i have a short on my channel of me doing one). it seems like it really shouldnt work but it does and it takes away the scary part of missing the coping and going heels over head into the bowl

Brilliant video. I keep coming back to see you advancing marvelously. I try to keep up, really 😂. Right now im still stuck at simple backside grinds in a low pool. Im gonna battle for those corner grinds and taking your tips with me! Cheers!

Many thanks Jon. Yours grinds look rad! It inspires me to try again the stall 50/50 (after 3 successful attempt I had 2 slams on 5 foot bowls. I was injured for 5 months (right shoulder as I am goofy footer -58 years old). Now I understand why: my right back wheel is going to far from the coping, and my left back wheel touches the coping, and when I renter the bowl it makes the central part of the truck to be hold by the coping...
    Thanks!

Good in depth video mate 👍🏻 the issue with the worry about hanging up on re-entry with the bs 5050 can be completely nullified if you take the same approach you described with the fs 5050. Use your back toe side wheel against the coping and push against it as you go back in, you won’t hang up if you are leaning into the ramp properly (and if you’re not that’s what you are doing wrong) also this makes you turn your shoulders adequately to not do the unplanned feeble , your shoulders are then closed enough to carry way more speed and follow through with a smooth carve re-entry especially when going round corners. So many issues solved in one small adjustment. All of this has also proved invaluable to me when doing them on vert because you need to employ a much more “get on & get off” smooth flow as there isn’t time to be making many adjustments when you’re up there it all happens too quick. Carving in and out of them in the vert pool can help with this but it’s still a very different scenario on the vert flat walls imho. But one major key point that you touched on with the pool vert which is even more the case on the vert ramp is not to stand up too high when you’re getting on it so keep your knees nicely bent in the grind and squat the turn out to avoid the weightless fall back in.

Some solid slams in there Jon. Great commitment 👏 I'm trying to get the back side 50 around a pool corner. Have similar issue with going into feeble. And struggle to get consistent lock ins. Any tips on how to cross lock?

Great stuff dude, yeah I find it’s a combination of leaning in more than I think, combined with not pumping as hard as I think combined with committing the front shoulder round more than I think 😂 I find it hard because somewhere in there is the sweet spot, but if any one element is off, it won’t work ??’

No pain no game! Looks like you deserve the 50 50 grinds from all those slams 🤙
Must of taken you days searching through all of your footage for these clips?

      Hey dude,
      Many thanks for tuning in!
I archive all the clips in folders so it’s quick and easy to compile. For some reason I can remember what I’ve done and where, so I can also search the place if I’m missing something?
