The bearded one goes better on the 80th anniversary Thor figure to show when he grew a beard after Hela ruined his face. The masked head is the correct one for this body because it's the Eric Masterson Thor before he became Thunderstrike. This is the Thor that fought Thanos in Infinity Gauntlet. ( It didn't end well)
Great review, I love that you do comparisons with other lines and also previous releases. I'm really shocked that both versions of the Destroyer are practically the same size, I was certain that the select would have been taller. I'm honestly going to give the edge to the Hasbro version because that one comes with fisted hands, which i think is more essential to the character than a sword.
Yes the only time as far as I know the Destroyer used a sword was when Odin spirit inhabited it and it grew Celestial size to duke it out with the entire 4th Celestial host in Thor #300 during Judgement Day. Otherwise the Destroyer never uses a weapon so fists are appreciated.
'80s, bro! '80s! That regular bearded Thor is some classic Walt Simonson, and could easily go on the classic Thor Odinson body. He definitely looks like a cleaned up Z akk Wylde. Awesome review, as always! 🤘🤘
It’s crazy how this new Destroyer scales with the Marvel select one seeing as how the diamond one is a 7 inch scale as opposed to the 6 inch scale in the Marvel Legend
Picked this up on clearance at Target and was not disappointed with the Destroyer. Thor was another story. The new Walt Simonson head sculpt is great but the joints are flimsy and soft. And the flesh tone paint is unnecessary and a bit uneven. I’m still trying to decide if I’m going to touch up the paint or clean it off to show the black plastic underneath. This is the first Thor figure I’ve ever bought due to only really liking Simonson’s run on the character. I was hoping for something tough and sturdy, instead I get flaccid Thor. I’m wondering if anyone else had the same issue.
I'm blown away by how tall the legends destroyer is like that's a game changer it's the same size as select. I feel if select re releases there destroyer I'd use it as my odin fig in my collection. Also does the select sword fit in the legends destroyer hand?
@@llllshadowllll I've done the same though I spent more time early on this yr asking for a mephisto re release and how big a opportunity it be with the failed haslab but they didn't listen either on that
@@turnermcnaughton5200 My guess is that they probably lost these molds or something and it's now too expensive for them to redo them otherwise they would've done it already but who knows really?
@@llllshadowllll see I thought that also but the destroyer and mephisto both are going well over a 100 on the secondary market so u could ask 60 for it and get some of the pie action. Just like how the watcher was released outta no where after the glactous haslab
The only reason I like the classic Thor with no beard is because that's how he looked in most of my favorite old Avengers comics that were drawn by George Perez and John Byrne. But this new 2-pack it is a pretty awesome set, and if I didn't already have the Marvel Select Destroyer figure I'd probably pick it up.
100% in on bearded Thor as well. Hate the baby face lol. Also the little piece of cardboard that came in the bag with the extra head was for keeping his wings separated 😊. Gonna have to pick this up
Whether it's the figures or comics I prefer a bearded Thor. The Thor figure here is just okay even with the beard. Yeah, that top looks odd and while I'm sure Thor wore it, I don't remember seeing it in a comic I read. The pins on the arms are a letdown too. But the Destroyer is just tremendous and I don't have him in any form in my collection so I'll likely get this. Good to hear that he's heavy and the spikes look great. I think I do prefer him to the Marvel Select which might be a little too bulky. Still an excellent looking figure though.
Man, that could have been a really good comic Thor figure if not for the chest plate issues. Everything else was good. Destroyer looks about perfect though. Very good figure. Well, would have been better with a sword, but still very good.
I was loving the ML Destroyer until you put the Marvel Select besides him. Obviously Marvel Legends looked at the Marvel Select since height is exactly the same, I wonder why didn't they match the beefiness as well.😢 Also what's up with the sculpted eyes on top of the face grill. Jack Kirby just did the top two rectangles dark but the sculpted eyes on top of the rectangles looks weird. I still pre-ordered this set and I'm excited to get it because Im not paying the price for Marvel Select Destroyer. You also forgot to mention the Marvel Select comes with an Odin head. The Thor is nice too but I'd prefer the torso costume as a separate piece like MOTU Zodac and pinless.
Thinking of buying from Game , this duo, but admit I don't like the paint job on Thor's torso. Love your reviews Anthony!
The masked head fits better with the new Thor since that’s the uniform Eric Masterson wore when he was stepping in for the god of thunder.
This is Eric Masterson
@@devinbullard7304 right you are.
I was thinking it was Eric Masterson too, that line work on the torso is horrible, hope that it isn't like that with everyone of them.
@@jeremygriffith2778 same here
They should have made Ron Frenz Thor not Eric Masterson.

Marvel Select Destroyer also came with the Odin head.
Isn't that Odin's sword?

That's I Good Destroy now we have two Destroyers in the line the more the better great review Kyle keep up the good work
This Eric Masterson Thor rules!!! Thanks for the look at this set!
Omg those paint lines talk about QC 😢😞. Like the face sculpt though .
I prefer bearded Thor. He looks more masculine and a little tougher with the beard. I can't wait to get this set and the Bruce Banner/Hulk set too.

@@turnermcnaughton5200 Now, it's going to be real hard to sell those Destroyers figures for these scalper prices with this new one from Hasbro.

WILD Kyle gotten the newt ML figs before most the other common ML reviewers.

We need a Walter Simonson Armored Thor…
HELL YEAH!!!!!!
Listening to some Thor only the Strong While Watching Kyle Review Thor and the Destroyer 2 pack 🤘🤘🤘 The Metal Avenger!!!!!
Bearded Thor's head is a version of the Herald of Thunder, but they added the beard and helmet !!
That destroyer going to get release with an Odin head or lots of retooling we could get a titanium man
You beat me to it: this Thor head sculpt looks like Zakk!!

The head with a beard and without a mask, can be used in Thor 80 years!!
Does the excalibur sword of destroyer in the select one can fit to the legends destroyer one in his holding hand?
I want that Destroyer. Want. WANT.
Looks like a very good set to me
cool figures. I think I prefer bearded Thor as opposed to the clean shaven one.
I need this released asap owwwey
Destroyer Select: Bulk
Destroyer Legends: Cut
Thats an awesome set! 👌
Didn't he have the sword only because of the extra head he came with of Odin

If no longer made it can’t really be scalper price it would be the market price at that point
@@KylePeterson1980 Yes, you are correct.
Where did you purchase that from?
Can you fit the Eric Masterson head to the Thunderstrike figure?
Yes
@Kyle Peterson last question, does the skin tone match? Im looking for a headsculpt to replace that screaming thunderstrike head.
Don't like or want that Thor... but really like and want the Destroyer
you look like The Big Show 🔥🔥🔥
He looks like AJ styles after he let himself go
They can reuse Destroyer for iron man suit called ‘THOR BUSTER’
This comment is to help the UA-cam algorithm

I like bearded Thor and I like ML Destroyer better than MS.
Would like the Destroyer without the Thor.
Should been a bloody head with no helmet..
You should bleach your hair to be like THOR TEIBUTE TO CHRIS HELMSWORTH ⚒️
Looking like Brock lesnar
God it looks so cheap when they paint on clothes.
ML the destroyer is like a twig compared to marvel select. Hasbro is terrible with super hero physiques 🤦🏿♂️
