NGL I was expecting the scene to go like this instead of just one shotting the next wave, I picture Firefly to go Ham with her two swords, slashing the bugs with so much ferocity, until her armour is covered with bug blood and then she explodes them off
Yes but she is like the last of her kind people person in her planet it’s probably like she is the only one left to inherit the energy of it all (not sure but trying to find logic behind my tears 😭)

They animated the swarm perfectly.
So we had it easy because we faced like 1-10 swarm bugs but Firefly faced like thousands to millions of bugs during her entire battle expereinces.....
No we basically faced that swarm mother each run so ofc if it's not like a turn based game limit of 5 enemies it would've had fuck ton of summons

Millions? Nah, it's closer to infinite. The swarm infested 2/3 of the universe, and it took several Aeons to stop them. She and the Cavalry were doomed to die from the start when the first few bugs reached their star system. At some point, destroying the planet along with the bugs was the only way.
this just shows how devastating a swarm disaster is
The SWARM Disaster reminds me of Wreck-It Ralph about Ralph's going to war to fight insectoid monsters known as Cy-Bugs for Medals in Arcade "Hero's Duty"

From this animation alone a lot of things were made clear if it's already weren't
-The Swarm was a threat that current era are lucky that they don't have to deal with anymore. Aeons had to ganged up just to kill Tayzzyronth and a batallion of walking nuke mech are next to nothing to them
-We're lucky that what Ruan Mei create can only lived for a minute
-Firefly's desire just to live a simple life after all the death and horror she witness and went through
-Firefly and Mei desperately needed company the most after all the crap they suffered
another thing to note several aeons actually revealed themselves to fight tayzzronth
And 2 Aeons were gone afterwards

Fun fact, it took a total of 5 to do it, and they DIDN'T EVEN KILL TAYZZY, Tayzzy is still alive and just sealed within amber with the potential to return later.
Fun fact boss and for anyone who doesn't know yet and is guessing that she got that upgrade because of yaoshi: Her mech upgraded because of her powerful Will. It was mentioned in her Keeping up with star rail by Welt and Owlbert. ELS isnt a product of her upgrade (cause other CCs and other people somehow seems to say that) but ELS is like a failsafe against all the clones.
And Yaoshi wasn't even a thing yet back then

Watching this, it makes so much sense now why Firefly and TB created such a close bond to one another before the events of the game. Both are artificial humans whose destinies have never really been theirs to decide. Both also seem to be the sentimental sort using goofball tendencies (garbage diving and practicing bad-ass lines) as masks. And, both (at least now, but in the past for TB are destined to) wield power capable of literally shattering planets.
Romantic or not is up to personal interpretation, but aside from Kafka literally being their destiny, Firefly was definitely the Trailblazers closest companion. I can only imagine how hurt Firefly was when she learned they'd lose all the memories of their bond. Not to mention how painful it must have been to finally see them again in Penacony, but with no recognition in their eyes.
Ruan Mei wanted to clone THAT??? Geezus, this brings a whole new meaning to "Ruin Me" (Ruan Mei). She would ruan an entire planet if she wanted to, granted if she succeeds.

There's a reason why I'll always love the dark and depressing bits of story and lore, and the reason why it can be so important to convey an emotional story that has a lasting impression of readers/viewers, which is why I'm really happy with this trailer cause it felt like a hit close to home to my mind as a writer myself. Seeing Fire Fly’s animation short, it only gave us a glimpse of just how horrific the Swarm Disaster was in the past, and some of the Swarm still exist today. Her home planet is not more as well as the Empire, thus she had nothing to lose when she destroyed her planet, because it was already gone. And, looks like she is the last and only survivor

scorched earth operations is a supposed final attack but as you can see even if it killed the swarm mother the other swarms are still on their way to attack again. So theres no other way than to blow the entire planet

Shaoji is a freaking liar. Anytime he claims "happy and wholesome story" expect the exact opposite of that: tragedy, grief, and depression. Having watched this video technically 3 times, I finally broke and cried

The animation was so damn good, but I do gotta say I feel so bad for Firefly cause it seems she was born just to fight for Glamoth but in the end Glamoth was already gone and she ended up being the only one left (probably).

If... and I say if because I can't find total confirmation... if this takes place during the Swarm Disaster, then Firefly spent over 100,000 years in stasis floating in space among the ruins of that planet before being found by the Hunters.
Actually this animation took place after the swarm disaster, when Tazzy already has been seal, because Glamoth was no more but in the glamoth set, it said glamoth survive the Swarm but then be destroy after that. So yeah this is just the desperation of all Firefly tried to protect a no longer exist Glamoth because of the misson that already implant in their mind since born.

I just realized that the mask wasn't actually a bomb, it seems more like a targeting system beacon for an orbital strike... but if Glamoth is gone, who are the commanding forces that the Fireflys talk to? What's shooting that nuclear strike?
Apparently the "Glamoth is gone" isn't a literal thing. Someone said that the Glamoth empire was just a construct by the Glamoth republic to keep in check the clones
Maybe an AI targeting system. Since swarm blocking the sky. Chad SAM used his mask to become a beacon so when Firefly hit the button it would just shoot at that specific place.

We all know that the Glamoth Empire was a lie of the Republic of Glamoth and Titania is a puppet queen for them to control.
I watched a breakdown video and apparently the "Glamoth Empire" was just a fabricated lie. And the clones were told that lie, I'm guessing Firefly said that cause everything she and her comrades were serving was just a sham
I've hard time to feel emotional toward HSR, and this mainly because I don't feel enough attachment toward the characters. But ever since we met Firefly, get to know of her personality and the crushing fate she had to bear, I knew she'll be one of my favourite characters, but again what happen to Firefly in Act 1 still doesn't hit me enough.
But then this drop, this freekin animation. To witness how tragic her life actually was, and how brokenly painful the war really is for her, and start from this moment 1:57, everything hit like truck, as even I can't help but on the verge of tears myself. This is the first time it ever had happen to me since I start playing HSR during the game release, the emotion that I used to only experience in Genshin, HI3rd and PGR story.
Firefly deserve a true happiness for once, and I wish Caelus/Stelle can give her that. Please.
The whole soundtrack direction also reminded me of the anime called Eighty-Six. Coincidently, the battle environment of that anime kinda resemble the battle in this anime.

@@QuangHaMinh-hg8vs You basically just summed up Abyss sibling life, Xiao's Prelude quest, and Focalor/Rukhadevata sacrifice cutscene. Yes, they DID reach this level of emotion multiple times. Unless you forgot or skip the story, I can't really say much as I really hate to argue in a place where we weren't supposed to.

And same, music direction reminded me of SO MUCH of 86 it had me all teared up and emotional, being forced on this seemingly uphill battle, Sawano OST 🎶 coming in, the squad all saying their goodbyes to Lena and disconnecting, all of them one by one falling at the end of season 1. And MOST OF ALL the end where she found the letter they addressed to her. “If, one day, you make it to our final destination, would you please leave flowers?” (I see you Raiden Bosenmori Mei & Tiernan) and “Avid” OST starts playing 😭

1:15 "Fun" Fact, unless I'm wrong that thing is a True Sting, or at least it looks really similar to one... so uh yeah, the SU boss really downplays just how massive those things are. Granted we should've known this already considering a True Sting ate the Astral Express in Argenti's Companion Quest and we didn't even realize it until well after the fact.

It's interesting how this further implies she's a Kallen Kaslana variant in HSR (or at least in many ways connected to her).
- Got stabbed through the chest by the Meme on Penacony as we saw like Kallen did with that Honkai beast.
- Is one of many hundreds of clones of someone who was the genetic base (the original is probably very much dead) for a clone army of warriors trained to pilot an army of S.A.M.'s to fight an unstoppable force. Similar to how Otto cloned Kallen multiple times after her death while continuing to fight the Honkai which at some point led to the creation of Theresa and Amber.
- Was trained to be an ultimate warrior like how Kallen was trained to be the strongest Valkyrie of her time.
- Etc.
Honestly after the Jingliu companion quest and Jing Yuan began listing off all the events Luocha was involved in other than The Xianzhou, it honestly wouldn't surprise me if 3 worlds later Luocha runs into her and reveals he was involved in the cloning program.

Considering how nameless they were, a gravestone like that is more than they would have ever asked for. An entire moon, shattered as testament to their sacrifice. Glamoth fell not with it’s ruling council, but with the fireflies that they trapped and used for their own purposes.
Reminder that those are the bugs/the swarm disaster that Ruan Mei tried to bring back

I believe at this time glamount has already fallen, the knights are fighting on a small outpost planet and when hearing the capital planet has fallen they decide to suicide attack to the last one, they have no where to fall back to anw
That orbital attack and scortearth policity probaly a planet breaker, aiming directly at the mother bug, making the planet it self unstable and on the verse of destruction. That final burst creating a chain reaction, like poping a bubble, the unstable planet exploded.
Am I the only one that thinks Hoyoverse should make a scene where the Trailblazer and Firefly siting next to each other and the Trailblazer gives her a hug of comfort for all that suffering 😥? She really needs a hug🫂
Yes. I'd give Firefly a hug if the game let me, but it doesn't. Not even an animation for ingame where you can choose to "headpat" her during one of the acting challenges in Penacony. Best I can do for Firefly, is to go for her Eidolon(s) and maybe Lightcone too. (F2P player btw) Something I never do for limited 5 stars

@@Hinasis ....The mech itself is also a medical cabin. That's why they stay in it so that the ELS don't fully kill them. So by her donning the mech at that moment as it upgraded, her body got healed on the process as well.
