I would like to say that I grew up with your Fifa videos... I got into golf about 1.5 years ago and fell in love and now being able to watch you golf by finding this channel is like discovering your Fifa channel all over again. Glad I could grow up and now support as an adult Andy.
Great video, gotta be the best indicator of what a good club fitting can do for a consistent player anywhere on UA-cam. I really hope you went straight out and filmed a break 80 vid as soon as the new clubs arrived! I reckon they'll all have to be break 75 vids pretty soon! Keep up the great golf content
Need to get used to my new iron distances And dial back in the short game distance control as the degrees of my wedges has changed But once I do that sub 80 is coming!
tbh I wasnt into golf at all, but since I started watching this I've been introduced to a very enjoyable side of youtube. keep up the brilliant content Andy!
Great that you cut in and out during the video to make it clear what was going on, as a keen golfer for years I was aware but for newer golfers I can imagine that was handy. Great detail, solid golf channel this. Nice one Andy, Dyche out btw. Up the blues
This has made me think about possibly getting my own fitting done when i can afford to do so, currently using my dads old Firesteel clubs from about 11 years ago because i cant afford new ones and im hitting a average of 53 on a par 37 front 9. I havent got a handicap but i did a full teaching course about 6 years ago doing a bronze to gold award that my grandparents paid for, this has now made me realise that now im alot better at golf it may just be the clubs
To itterate further on my comment my most recent game is now 47 on a 37 par 9, and I was about 56 about 6 years ago before I did my lessons -- would love to see the difference if I could ever afford to do the same thing as you Andy 😂
This is the best fitting video I have watched and I’ve watched a few. You asked all the questions other people never ask and I never think about. Discovered your videos last night and you’ve already gained a subscriber. Good job.
Great video Andy. I have been doing lessons recently and my swing has changed quite a bit with my club speed increasing quite a bit since I bought my clubs. Currently in all regular shafts and clubs not fitted to me. It’s wild to see in this video the change in your shaft weights and stiffness.
I’ve played some holes at my club, and I love them But I do need to get used to the yardages for the irons, and changing the degrees of the wedges has thrown off my short game distance control a bit Will film a break 80 once I’m dialled in
I need a full fitting so bad. Im using Stealth GI irons atm and a 12 degree Draw bias driver, this has explained a lot about why my club head speed isnt converting into distance with the driver (particularly in the wind) and why im launching it so fkin high.
You & me both need it 😂 I'm using my dads old set of Firesteel Nike clubs from about 11 years ago, and I'm hitting 53 average on a par 36 front 9 I need some fittings done 😂
damn cant believe i grew up watching your fifa videos, now ive been getting into golf and you've come up on my home page ahhaha.... loving the vids man
Definitely would have liked to have seen the wedge part of the fitting. Shafts and heads. Gapping. Plus the new opus wedges are like a thousand bucks each, so would love to have seen the comparison for you in the different Callaway wedge heads.
@@charliemarkert6480 I did use “like” cause I just meant that they cost a lot more than other top wedges. And I’m curious to see them up against the jaws. I own the jaws from a few years ago, and I’d like to see what they developed with opus.
Same mate Unfortunately someone else was booked in 2 hours after me and we ran out of time after the putter irons and driver Maybe I’ll go back in future
Went for a iron fitting after playing for 10 years.. saw massive gains in dispersion and distance. Just can't find funds for the £1400+ bill unfortunately
Belter of a video! I recently got fitted for my first set of new irons after playing with used clubs and they’ve changed my game massively, going from about a 30hcp to 18 in about 7 months! Question for you, did you learn anything about your game that you didn’t even expect to find out about during the fitting?
I learnt that I have quite a good driver swing But just didn’t have a club suited to it I thought my driving was awful 😂 and never had any confidence in it Turns out with a more neutral club and a stiffer shaft I can hit some bombs that actually go straight
That’s funny. I had the exact same set of ping irons when I got into golf with the same shafts as well. They served me well for a while, but as I got much better, they started to hurt me. I switched to Mizuno pro 243 irons in my handicap literally went from a 14 to 8 in no time
@@AndyCastellGolf the way u we’re hitting irons in this video you definitely can. I’m at a 5 handicap now and I suck with driver but my irons and wedges are great
Really enjoyed this and the detail was simple to understand. As a very short person who plays golf a fitting is so worth it. (Just don't go to American golf like I did for my first fitting)
The biggest mistake people make when choosing a putter, is definitely the type of neck. For me I need a slant neck for my stroke. If I try and use a plumbers neck, I’m constantly fighting it. I think people would be surprised how much easier a blade can be, if they have the correct neck. I personally don’t like mallet putters. The bulk of them doesn’t fit my eye, or the way I putt. I do have two blades, but I use a Scotty 2.5+, cause it’s a slant neck with a bit more forgiveness being a + model. I even tried those lab putters and just don’t get it. It’s great if they are helping people that struggle putting, but they are not for me. I’ll stick to my slant neck anser style head, it’s been perfect that last 20 years
A lot more relaxed atm I tore a ligament in my ankle just after filming the break 80 video 🫣 so I’ve not practiced much at all Very excited to get back into it especially now I have these clubs that suit my game
It’s not inaccurate it’s about balancing it for each individual (as he says in the video, what you’re doing and assuming it’s just one default rule for everyone is actually what is inaccurate) I was using a slant neck which has more flow than the crank hozel/plumber I ended up with I had predominantly toe strikes with the slant neck, and when I went to the complete other end of the spectrum with a double bend I got heel strikes Having the middle ground was perfect for me
I know the Callaway HQ is pros only (or I think at least) but how much would the same or similar calibre clubs and fitting cost those of us who aren’t lucky enough to be invited out to the Callaway, not a dig or anything just genuinely curious
I was fit at precision golf in London, they’re one of the top fitters in Europe, my full bag fitting was £300 in feb but think the price has gone up a little. Good to go to an independent company as you get the best clubs for you, not just the best clubs that specific brand has for you. I ended up with ping, callaway, titleist and Taylormade clubs in my full bag.
You can go there as a regular guy I believe you arrange it through your normal club pro, and then it costs 30 quid Guy after me was just a regular golfer
@@AndyCastellGolf That's insanely reasonable. Looking at the level of care and detail they go into, it's so worth it. I've had shop fittings before, and have never bought anything out of it, because I just didn't trust the process all said and done.

Love fitting videos, weirdly addicting 😂.
Got fitted for Ai smoke driver and 5 wood earlier this year, 5 wood is unbelievable.

Class Video Andy
i'm 5 months into golf, won clubs on a competition and got the ai smoke driver and its insane for me. definitely need a fitting looking at this
We need the unedited versions!
Check the description mate 😉
How much does this fitting cost and can the average golfer get this fitting?
I went to pxg for a fitting it was 25$ and they gave me a dozen balls for free so technically it cancelled out
@@nickk8206did you have the buy clubs?
Fittings from good places run about $250-500USD for a full bag. The cost really is actually buying the clubs.
Much for your old clubs 😂 Love the fitting video Andy
That difference in shaft with the driver was insane 😮

So how long did you wait before getting fitted clubs?
Did he give any tips on hybrid shafts

Hey Mate, what was the book you mentioned as a must read? Great video
Golf is not a game of perfect

You need to try the lab putters.
What does your practice look like now? Is it the same as it was for the tiger woods training you did or more relaxed?
A lot more relaxed atm
I tore a ligament in my ankle just after filming the break 80 video 🫣 so I’ve not practiced much at all
Very excited to get back into it especially now I have these clubs that suit my game
Face balance usually is more pendulum style, plumber neck is more flow from then inside. Putter part seems a bit inaccurate
It’s not inaccurate it’s about balancing it for each individual (as he says in the video, what you’re doing and assuming it’s just one default rule for everyone is actually what is inaccurate)
I was using a slant neck which has more flow than the crank hozel/plumber I ended up with
I had predominantly toe strikes with the slant neck, and when I went to the complete other end of the spectrum with a double bend I got heel strikes
Having the middle ground was perfect for me
How many balls did you hit the full fitting you reckon ? Would hate to get to driver and be worn out like if you do too much at the range
Only about 50-60 for driver and irons
when are you gon uploaded a fc 25 vid?
What driver shaft was the winner? I heard 60 gram X Flex Mitsubishi. Is it the Kal'ai blue?
That’s the one mate!
Love this content and the channel. But seriously the long socks + shorts combo needs to go 😂
As someone who cannot afford custom fit yet and is still starting out, is PINGs colour dot accurate to get some ‘custom fit’ far oversimplified?
I’m not 100% sure what you’re asking
But the dot system is the lie angle (e.g. my blue dot was +1)
Does this cost extra to do Andy? Cheers
Did you pay for the fitting? Looks unreal for a fitting tbh much more indepth than I've seen for a few I've had.
I didn’t mate no, was invited by Callaway
How much did it all cost?
For the driver do you get the max head or the LS?
Max 👌🏻

Did you buy any of the clubs or are you buying somewhere else but just know what you need?
I was very kindly gifted them from Callaway
Did you not have a look at changing the grip size?
Grip size is so important, not just for comfort but for hand pressure too which is so important in the swing
@@hadesigniteprobably the most important part of the club other than the shaft
Maybe one for the future
But I also have pretty small hands so can’t imagine getting bigger grips as everyone seems to be pushing 😅
