Hey. That cage will 100% NOT fit. The only part of the M-Lite that we could make simmilar to the komodo is the two top 1/4" spacing. Hi, I just did the whole build when I did the test like you did with the screen and buttons on the outside. The camera lights up but the screen doesn't. Although the build went very well due to this tutorial I can't find anything wrong. When putting the screen back without the extention I have the same problem. Any idea on what is wrong? Help!!!
Hey, currently there isn't. Since you'll constantly have a dummy battery and 99% of the time a SD card in the camera, i don't see this as too much of a problem. We discussed making a cover, but it was deemed too much work.
Very nice, but what about cooling? This could be a practical reasoning for the build, but it is just a small fan in front of metal plate. Could be some heatsink right from the CPU ant then the fan
Hey, we considered using a heat sink but after testing it has shown there is not a single reason to overcomplicate it. Keep in mind the EOS-M heatsink (the metal plate) is designed to dissipate enough heat without any active airflow on it (since the LCD is covering it). Sure, MLV makes the camera heat up more, but our cooling system keeps the camera extremely cold. Thanks for the question! Tom
Hey. You need at least a 5V/2A Powerbank, ideally one that can do more. You can find nice recomendations on the MLV Facebook group, people talk about powerbanks there very often and know what works and what doesent. Thanks!

Also I've had issues with dirt/dust getting into another camera I owned when the latch started to wear out. I would be a little paranoid about that.
Hey. The SD extension was a bad idea mostly because of the current way the SD slot is utilised. With MLV you're maxing the slot and SD card, and adding another piece would make it perform worse. With a SD card and dummy battery in there are no places where dust could do any harm on the M, at least not any that i know of. Just realized that there is no access to "photo/movie mode" button. You need to switch to photo mode to update Danne's builds. Also, no access to shutter button.
Yes. You can get easy access to the photo/movie switch by removing four screws. The Shutter button is sadly just not possible with needing to have 1/4" at the top. We have some ideas on how to make a modded front plate to allow the button to be pressed too.
Also i read some info about it, citing Jon Pandone here : "You don't need to switch to photo mode for and update. Just copy the new build to the card. I think what you mean is you have to be in photo mode to set the boot flag on a brand new card, but you don't need that either. You can set bootflag on computer with eoscard utility"

I'd say most of this is pretty self explanatory, there isnt really some caveat that you'd have a hard time figuring out.
Good luck!
@@filmatura THANK YOU SO MUCH !!!
Why is it necessary to put the rear cover back on?
Hey, the rear cover is there because the little plastic button that presses the ON-OFF ribbon button is mounted on that. Without that the ribbon would get broken very fast.
I'm a little confused: the button for taking pictures is not available in this case?
Hey, you're correct. This is a re-house inteded for video shooting. There's just not any space to have an shutter button on the enclosure.

Might be a dumb question but this works for the M50 ii right? 😅 I’m new at this
No. This is ONLY made for the EOS M. No other cameras will fit, no other cameras will work!
Tom
@@filmatura I had figured it out after more research on cameras…I ended up buying an Eos M yesterday…so hopefully I can get this rig before y’all stop making them 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
Well that’s disappointing. Found this super cool product and bought the camera only to find out you shut down production three days ago. Late to the party again.
Send me a message on my website.
This build will only fit Eos-M, correct?
Yes, no other camera will work with this.
does it work on eos m2 ?
Hey, No.
how much and where can you get the extention lcd ribbon cable
Hey, the extension ribbon cable comes with the kit. You can buy it here : www.3dfocus.org/product-page/m-lite
@@filmatura I mean the extension cable separately not the kit
@@At_r34 You can buy one on our store from Europe, or from aliexpress.

You still making these
Yes! Link is in the description, they will be up for sale up untill 1st of September.
Tom
focus is killin me ! :(
Yeah, sorry for that. My sony hates to focus obviously lol.
Thanks for the videos! I want to do a small modification to my eso m but just need the ribbon cable. Do you sell just the ribbon extension or know where I can get the right cable?
Hey, we do not sell the LCD ribbon currently. Its a 51 pin, 0,3mm pitch ribbon. Im sure you can find it elsewhere!
Tom
@@filmatura thank you very much for the info. I think there’s some on Amazon.
DOES ANYONE HAS ONE OF THIS REHOUSINGS FOR SALE?
Hey, i suggest you join our FaceBook group, here and there there's people selling theirs.
In case you don't find one, stay tuned ;)

i want one
You know where to get it ;) www.3dfocus.org
@@filmatura defo will be getting one just got other priorities at the moment please keep this on sale I dont mind paying the extra because of all the work put into designing and developing this cool mod the active cooling and the pro cinema camera look is why I want one I would feel more than confident pulling this out in a room full of professionals it looks amazing and the active cooling is a great idea I need to buy another eos m that I dont mind stripping down might buy a second used c grade from uk second hand shop as I dont plan to remove it once fitted cant wait to see wat else u have planned for the m lite just a suggestion but maybe a slightly bigger unit with hdmi to Sdi converter built in would be a cool mod
@@ZeroBudgetDevelopments There's 8 units for this price right now, after they sell out price will be going up, but ofc we dont plan to stop selling these any time soon. If you join the FB group there's a bunch of "leaks" for new accessories coming out later for the M-Lite.
The HDMI to SDI is a good idea, however most of people using the EOS M are more budget oriented, and SDI is mostly more expensive. The converter itself would cost as much as the M-Lite haha!
Glad you like this project :)
Tom
@@filmatura will do :)
