A little note regarding the ending tests. It seems in the very specific double geo Hu Tao team, Yelan’s application of hydro cant keep up with all the geo stuff/reactions happening. Seems that for most other teams, she’s basically an upgraded Xingqiu though.
Also, I’m aware pyro res doesn’t do anything for her, and any other atk buffs. But it does work for our main DPS (Yoimiya in this case) and the other units, so my point there still stands. IMO the extra 12% max hp is only worth it if your team doesn’t suffer for it (mine would have, no benny, no pyro res).
What if you try both xinqiou and yelan together with hutao🤔
No she is not an upgraded xingqiu, xingqiu is still better
@@ishananchit677 First that's and opinion and second it depends on how you're building Yelan/ Xingqiu, and because there is multipule ways to build 1 unit stats may vary depending on said build used for the unit. So you're not wrong but not fully right

Fun fact: You can actually equip her with just level 1 r5 stringless. 😆 She only need the stringless passive. Lv 90 is good though with that EM.

xingqiu's rainswords also applies hydro, so when hutao charges she will be the one who vaporizes. the problem with yelan is she doesn't apply as much hydro as xingqiu where geo constructs from zhong and albedo can steal the reaction via crystalize.

I still am not over the fact that Yelan's max health increases if you have more different elements in your party and all her damage comes from health. That's insane
If you say it that way, her passive really sounds similar to Yunjin which is a support for Yoimiya. So does that means that Yelan is actually made for Yoimiya to be paired with Yunjin?

Pryo resonance doesn’t do anything to yelan except boost her normal attacks, the 4 different elements are much more worth it since it affects her breakthrough shot, skill, and burst

I feel like yoimiya is indirectly being buffed every version. First yun jin, then Echoes of an Offering (almost same damage as Shimenawa, but you have burst) now Yelan
Honestly, she has had buffs in like 3 of the last 4 patches

@@fangservicex2964 ofc it is a good thing! I didn't play when yoimiya came out so I din't know that she was hated at the beginning. All I know that I've wanted her, ever since I saw her easily defeating specters lol. I hope she is getting a re-run soon!
Explanation as to why she doesn’t work with Hu Tao:
unfortunately the double geo of albedo and Zhongli removes the hydro mark. This is because she fires 3 water arrows, while XQ fires four. So albedos blossom and Zhonglis pillar proc and remove the water mark. She works fine with hu Tao, just not in that team.
P.S in the God mode would you think about trying her with Keqing? It’s just that I main her and I’m not sure if they work well together
Don't forget the melee rain swords which apply another hydro instance.
i've tried them together and it works pretty well if you're going for a tazer team
moreover, yelan ult is triggered only by normal autoatacks not charged ones so her main source of damage does not vaporize
she works if you main an electro keqing , otherwise there's kinda... no point in using them together

I highly recommend pairing up Yelan with Yanfei and Xiangling. I have Yelan with my Yanfei and she is SO good! Highly recommend giving her a shot with Yanfei. And same thing with Xiangling. It acts as another Xingqui, and maybe could be a nice replacement for the Xingqui/Xiangling combo.
Edit: I wanted to add that Yelan is kinda like a combo between Fischl and Xingqui. I play her like a Fischl, and she’s pretty dope.
Yeah, i can't wait to get Yelan to pair her with my c6 Yanfei! They're gonna be perfect together on my team

That's how I'm using her too, even though I have a well built Hu Tao, I prefer using Yanfei for dailies and whatnot bc of her AoE and ranged attacks

Moga remember that atk buff like thrilling tales and pyro resconence dont buff yelan at all since She scales with hp. Only Hydro dmg buff and resistence shread make her stronger.

It's insane how a character can dismiss Base ATK all together. Impressive how using 3 star weapon are more viable than most 5 star for Yelan.
Right? Xlice did a good breakdown of all the weapons that will work for her, and she has so much flexibility. It makes her a good dps/sub dps option for f2p players or even support dps, and she's fun to play.
Pairing up Yelan with Xingqiu in HuTao comp is fun and strong. You drown enemies with hydro and you get yelan buff as well.
Hu tao can actually vaporise every charged attack with yelan, but that depends a lot on your team composition. The issue with yelan is that she doesn't apply the same amount of hydro units as xingqiu, so the hydro she applies gets eaten up by albedo's blossoms. But if you put hu tao and yelan in a team without albedo her vapes would it would be far more consistent.
Whether it's a loss or not to leave out albedo from hu tao's team is up to you to decide.
fun fact: xingqius damage reduction from the rain swords actually increase the durability of shields

Xingqiu can actually apply more hydro cause his swords around you and his constellations. I think Yelan needs c2 to make Hu tao vape consistently. Also Albedo and Zhongli take away some of the hydro aura with their crystallize reactions. Maybe a different team without them two can be enough for hu tao to vape her charged attacks
C2 doesn't make her apply as much as Xingqiu but it's being tested if c2 is enough application for Hu Tao

Yelan is indeed a great unit, but a slight problem with the hu tao team is that the geo application is to powerful and yelan's burst has a weaker hydro application than xingqiu

She’s fun most everywhere, regardless of synergy, but “Blue-Tao” is definitely my favorite team.

Honestly, I think Yelan’s pretty cool. I like bow characters and how they work, so she would work great with my account. Especially my team. But I also love Yoimiya and I’ve already farmed her materials, so I might just wait for Yelan’s next rerun.
I want Yoimiya too... just pulled Yelan today though but I think I can still have enough for Yoi by the end of this patch. I usually have enough for my next character after saving for an entire patch, considering that I don't buy welkin or bp and lose 50 50 and only get a 5* around 75 pulls.

I'm also waiting for Yoimiya. Prefarmed all her ascension Material and have enough to get her Talents very high. Yelan looks fun and a 2nd Xingqiu is always useful but she'll come back way faster than we can imagine

She's also a godsent to that pesky first floor on floor 11 in spiral abyss as you can use her E to get those spread out enemies fast.
So now you have other options besides the anemo suck 'em up.
We finally have a character that can apply hydro as quickly as Klee applies pyro so I'm really looking forward to trying that

@@dimyog She applies hydro quicker than xinqiu, but because of his constellations he applies more hydro which is why most attacks are vaporized

My team is Klee (main dps), Zhong (shield), Fischl (support), and Yelan (support)
I was wondering about how Klee would perform if you had both yelan and xingqiu, because one of klee's issues was that not all of her attacks could vaporize even with xingqiu burst. So maybe have both xingqiu and yelan would fix that? Idk if it would be worth it in terms of the whole team but I think it would be an interesting thing to test

@@pehndaa i'm 16, i have my own job as an assistant at a vet, my parents said its alright if i spend it on other things. I also help them go on groceries and ect, my parents are pretty stacked so even if sometimes i borrow a bit of money they still have plenty for me and my siblings
When you use her bow her burst DMG will bump up to over 9k no buffs or reactions. And since vaps from hydro does more DMG than vaps from pyro, enemies will get one shot with Hu Tao. Both of them will do DMG.
Practice to start the charged attack away from the enemy unlike with water boi who we hug the enemy.
I've also tried using both xingqiu and yelan with hu tao and it was amazing, you're always going to vaporize while getting the dmg buff from yelan's passive. I think I prefer that over the geo resonance

I use her with raiden Benny and sucrose for quick swap. It's a really fun team with a lot of reactions i recommend you try it

For all those wondering, Aqua (passive on) is like 3% more damage in freeze Ganyu and 6% less damage in melt Ganyu when compared to Amos bow (full stacks) in an optimized setting. Without full stacks on Amos, it is like 3% less damage than Aqua in a melt team.
Calcs are done by Ganyu mains server using KQM standard.
TLDR: Aqua BiS for freeze Ganyu. Amos BiS for melt Ganyu.

And even with lv.6 talents she is SLAPPING
She is also great DPS

You could try a Hutao team with both Xingqiu and Yelan, I've seen some other people doing and it seems like it works well
It feels like yoi's firework team with the amount of particles and effects. Really effective too
btw in the Zhongli Bennett Yelan Yoimiya comp, start with Yelan Q and then E, and then Bennett. This is because you get to the higher dmg% as your dps window starts later, also bennett ult will last longer for yoimiya
My Yelan is doing 35k vaporises with her E with a 3 star bow and 0 EM. Her potential is just insane
same she did 25k for me though, level 60, 3 star bow and 0 em as well she’s so good
you should try xingqiu and yelan in the same team with hu tao and yoimiya, i heard it's great
Yelan and yoimiya are the best pairing ive found. I just throw diona and yunjin with them and the team feels great.
I already LOVE using yoimia against single target enemies but seeing her with yelan too is INSANE

I had her at level 50 with level 1 talents and she did 10k with a viridescent hunt and 2 piece millilith and 2 piece heart if depth
same because i couldnt even kill the stupid ruin serpent bc of resin but now she’s 60 and she did around 20k on her e, she’s rlly good at low levels even with a 3 * weapin (recurve)

I've been trying out QiQi, Yun Jin, Beido, and Yelan with Yelan as main DPS. I liked the idea of a 4 element team working together -- so Yun Jin and Yelan. And then Cryo gets some nice freezes going since Yelan has to be kind of close to basic attack. Since Yelan's basic attacks are not element infused, I figured the super conduct from Beido/Qiqi would be helpful too, as well as the electro charge. I don't have QiQi, Yun Jin, and Beido raised very high, so its a bit weak at the moment. But Yun Jin's C6 also seems good here, especially since Yun Jin's buffs are all for normal attack damage, and not ATT buffs.
Man Yelan is really tempting me to pull, but i'm waiting for Kaedehara Kid since i already prepared everything for him
Kazuha was my second 5* and has been one of my two mains since his banner. I really enjoy his playstyle; he's the most fun character that I've tried. I will say that everyone tries to box my boy into a purely support role, but it severely limits him and takes away so much of what I think makes him fun. I recommend a hybrid build for that reason. Good luck with your pulls.
I use her with two piece tenacity and two piece HoD and with sringless and her damage is very good she dose 100k only with vape and her burst dmg 9k per arrow and at max stacks she dose 13k pre arrow try her with this build oh and mine has 36k hp
Xingqiu's rainsword around the character makes the vaporises more consistent

I wasn’t so lucky farming for emblem pieces so i put a few god pieces from noblesse and HoD, she performs really well and doesn’t really need that much ER to have her burst back on cooldown from what I’ve seen

After bringing yelan home, this video just showed me, how much I need yoimiya, can‘t wait for her rerun
From what ive seen and heard, dps yelan really benefits from barbaras c2 as its boosts hydro dmg and synergies better than if you were to use benny to buff
Moga you could try Yoimiya Yelan Yunjin and a last one that is a healer but not Pyro Hydro or Geo to get Yunjin and Yelan that perfect boost
That could be a use for Kuki when she comes out since she seems underwhelming on paper but sounds good with these characters.

It makes sense for her to scale off of hp since the prev new hydro (Ayato) also scaled off of hp

The HP with Ayato does not really matter, same with Yae and EM - it is just a small bonus that is not worth sacrificing attack for.
Yelan is a different case and definitely wants that HP

For the people wondering icd(internet cool down) has a basic rule that it'll only apply hydro every 3 hits or 2.5 secs so water boi swords hits 5 times (c6) and his water swords (the one you see on your active character applies hydro also that's why it can stop burning)while yelan burst hits 3 times at c0 so basically water boi has more opportunities to apply hydro causing a vaporize there's probably smarter people that can explain it in a smarter way so research if you're interested

she's actually the most misunderstood character (based of the people who knows some leaks saying that she's gonna be hard to use), i didn't expect her dmg would be big lol
It’s because she’s actually a DPS with support capabilities. she’s is really sick
That because she can't benefit from most Atk buff since all of her skills scale with hp meaning that she almost reached her max potential. And this is why her dmg is so high, it's the similar case with Hu Tao since she can't work with Benny so her raw dmg is really high

she is only outclassed in vape specifically for hu tao , rest diluc and yoimiya work the same with both so yelan is better and klee and yanfei already apply too much pyro for both xq and yelan to keep up , in freeze and taser teams yelan is better due to 5* stat scaling
her skill on e makes her propable best character to move around the map
Moga, you can try the Raiden National team for the god mode. Benny, Xianling, Yelan and Raiden (I think in that team is better to start the rotation with Yelan so her DMG bonus passive is stacked by the time you switch to Raiden and do her burts)

in actually just cleared abyss with hu tao-yelan-xingqiu-benny and it was so much fun! the vapes were consistent, i didnt have to build as much er on yelan and could focus on her personal dmg. can recommend lol
My xingqui does 100k with E and like 300k with Q, if he got outclassed by yelan, I'd be sad af. But happy at the same time, cuz he can actually go neck to neck with a 5* character

The geo constructs resonating and Albedo flower procc removes the hydro before Hu Tao can vaporize it. C2 might fix that issue with the additional ult shot but you would have to look into that more
I play her with my main dps lisa, especially cuz of her passive, and because I use the lost prayer to the sacred winds on Lisa, that's just yet another buff for staying on her and attacking with her for a long time, so she's essentially also a buff for my Lisa which I really like

Another aspect of Yelan is that she attacks based off of hp so if you build her with a massive amount of hp then she may be a bit more consistent. She most likely will not be as consistent to pair with Hu tao, however, I have my Yelan paired with Klee and that duo is so op! Xingqiu is definitely better for Hu tao, but with launch attack users (bow and catalyst) Yelan is much better.

Yup, the timing on the hydro application with Yelan does not work as well as it does with water boy. But yelan works better with Yoimiya and Klee. Its as far as i can tell a timing thing with how the Bursts work, and that slight delay on Xingqius water swords makes Hutao more consistent from what I have seen and tried myself.
Going through a crisis…. I wasn’t planning on pulling for her bc I want kazuha but I played her trial run and I love her so I ended up wishing, lost the 50/50 and now I’m guaranteed a kazuha but still… 🙁 (I got her! I couldn’t pass it up lol, I love her very much)
Same thing here thankfully kazuha is two months away and we will probably be getting more events as well in the meantime to stock up
Something about watching people putting all their resources is just so satisfying, like damn rip but good character

i dont have hu tao myself, but from looking at hu tao's playstyle i'm pretty sure that other than the double geo team, the reason xinqiu does more vapes than yelan is because of, as you said, the swords have a bit of a delay so its better for vaporize hu tao
both yelan and xinqiu dont do the ult attacks on charged attacks, only on normal attacks
hu tao does a normal attack before charged, so xinqiu's ult delay is perfect
where as yelan, her ult attacks are so fast that it only vaporizes the normal attack before charged
On hutao tests, zhongli’s pillar and albedo’s flower are consuming water left on masanori. Elemental gauges theory explains it very well
The geo crystallization removes the hydro so sometimes yelan doesn't vaporizer with hu tao while double geo is on the team
You should try and hu tao/yelan/xq comp. Yelan does decent dmg and increases HP and with both of their ults up hu tao would be able to vape evrything
I'm using her as a main DPS with Raiden for the coordinated atks. Ganyu as a Support for cryo and Sayu for swirls. I like that team a lot.
Yelan and Xingqiu are good together and help with consistency. Try Hu Tao, Yelan, Xingqiu, Zhongli maybe.
I would recommend for the sans you get an hp sans, because barely anything scales off of attack for her

You can try the same hutao team, but now with xingqiu instead of albedo so he can be a battery so Yelan can focus more on dmg and at the same time another hydro applicator for hutao so there’s two ways for her to get vaporise and thus both combined will be more consistent
The team I've been using with her is thoma, Diana, and Yun Jin. I think it's pretty good
