What a powerful speech. This has giving me inspiration. What schwatta said is true there's no shame in crying no man should suffer in silence. None of this harden up or suck it up it's ok to feel sad it's ok to feel vulnerable.

I've learned that in this world no one cares and it's a dog eat dog world especially for men and fathers. Silence speaks volumes. Talking about it leads to exile from your community and extended family.
I've asked and no one helped. Why?
The game that I loved as a child to now Aussie Rules ruined my life. I wanted to not be here anymore.
It hurts even to today. There's more but now is not the time. No judgement please.

It's unfortunate that it takes such a sad loss of a legend for such an absolutely incredible speech on something so very important for all our current and future boys. Thanks Spud, Wayne, and peace, love and respect to anyone else who suffers also.

Then a day or so later everyone forgets the message they just herd! People who forget the past are destined to repeat it! I have schizophrenia but i live alone! People dont realize alot of mental illness is permanent and people just think your having a bad day! Or get some medicine all fixed! If you have cancer everyone can see your suffering but not mental illness! Its the worst illness you can every Imagine! As you live it alone!

@@baddazzgarage2953, I feel for you. I have severe depression, anxiety, and to top it off, I am an alcoholic. I haven't had a drink for over 5 years now, but it is all part of the same illness as I abused alcohol and other stuff to treat my disease. I still can suffer depression really badly, and I take antidepressants to help but it still sucks. You are spot on though, no matter how much people try to use a tragic celebrity death or something like this to spread awareness, it does get forgotten quickly. Most people will feel so sorry for cancer, or other known disease sufferers, and their are heaps of treatment centres etc. money raised to help them, but alcoholics, schizophrenics, people with depression, personality disorders are still frowned upon by too many. Too many people, including many so called professional people, still think people like me are just weak, lazy, or even worse, just lying and making up excuses and are not sick at all. It sucks my friend, but the good thing is, you are not alone, so many people live with these very real diseases, and the best help is talking to others living it, and helping each other. Even just talking to someone similar is 1000 x better than wasting time and money going to doctors etc. I hope you are OK and that you find your way in life. Cheers

@@jimmydeats9901 wow James you explained my life to a t! Im also a recovering heroin addict about 4 years clean! My own family frown upon me! Its all my fault because i used drugs and alcohol to aid my illnesses! I get called lazy, selfish, i only care about myself the list goes on! Some nights i cry myself to sleep! Why is life so so cruel ! I applaud you for your sobarness and your inner strength to continue on! Its funny they call us weak but if they only new how strong you have to be to get up every day and continue on only then would we get the understanding we so richly deserve! All my life i was lead to believe it was all my fault but its taken 20 years for me to finally realize i have a disease and im deserving of love and understanding ! And yes even doctors really dont understand they get frustrated with you when you dont respond to treatment! I say it loud mental illness is the worst kind of disease you can ever Imagine because you do it alone! Im proud of you for speaking your one in a million and i hope you no that its crucial you do! Im hear if you need a chat! Much love Glenn

@@brockmitchell5641 he only spoke about his struggle for 2 minutes the other 9 were about spud and helping others! I have schizophrenia i no all about mental illness what he said was of high importance! Every word was perfect and he touched on all the subjects equally! And spud would have wanted him to say adzactly what he said 100percent!

    • @brockmitchell5641

BADDAZZ GARAGE it was definitely important, and all very well said, but to me it could’ve been more about spud, but to your point, you’re right that spud would’ve wanted all that said. I don’t understand mental health as I don’t suffer from it, but if this speech meant something to you then that’s all that matters in the end, I mean that genuinely.
