Your the best my guy. You have so much whimsy and personality that shows in your art, from the red noses of your characters to the bold background it’s so filled with emotion and years of an artist’s work. Your never scared to try new things and take a leap of faith and I really admire that.
Your style is in your color. The way you layer tones and shades over each other to produce a work is stunning and unique. Your line art adds depth and feeling to your subjects that can be hard to accomplish. My art is somewhat similar as i mainly do realism, and I understand the feelings of being "basic" or "unoriginal". Realism is still art though and is a form of expression! I love your style I want you to know that your style is an inspiration to me and I really enjoy all of your work!
Exact opposite for me, I struggle with anything other than basic flat colors. My pencil sketches tho are so stylized and often toss out anatomy to get something cool. Thing is, I wish I could paint like Scott!
They also have a really nice graphic quality to their line work. Where they put weight in the lines and the places the lines are unconnected convey a nice sense of depth that isn’t just from copying a photo.
Part of your unique style is the red nose, ink lines, the way you do hair. To me, your unique style in the second photo is the way you do the face colorations with watercolors and the black lines you add afterwards. Always a fun twist that’s unique to you!
I really feel this feeling you're describing. Every time when I'm making art I really feel bad about "coping" picture or just drawing something without any creative elements, but I think every artist gets through this kinda phase/feeling. But also, every artist has to remember even if you're "just coping" your references, it's your art style, that is making your drawing unique. Every line you draw, is a line, that no one else can copy.
To me, your art style is so unique! I love the way you place color on the face especially, and let there be defined areas of shadow and highlight and less emphasis on blending between them (something I can't figure out, it always looks a mess when I try 😂), and I love the way you use blues, purples, and reds in the face to give really lovely brightness and fun to your art. It's especially unique to me in your watercolor art. I know we can hear a compliment a thousand times from a thousand people and it will never be as loud as a teardown from our own inner voice, but I just want you to know how fun and unique I find your style. Thanks for continuing to push through the negative inner voice, I know the struggle all too well lol

Your art is NOT just copying a photo!! You’re one of my favorite artists ever BECAUSE your linework, and expressive coloring, and use of just pure black has always stood out to me and it’s something I could never do right. It seems like you’ve perfected that by now, though!
I totally get your insecurities and the frustration that comes along with trying to venture outside of the box! It always makes me feel uncomfortable but then I feel with what I'm good at, and gosh it take time to move forward or move outwards. But I don't want you, even for a second, to think that your art is boring or that you're just "copying a picture" because you add so much depth to an already existing photo, your colors are so vivid and they make each photo lively and unique! I hope that you get where you want to go in your art

If I'm honest your art is never boring, you always find a way to draw new styles and colors to your drawings, they're unique in their own way :)
seeing your videos and seeing you talk about the doubting and negative things you have about your art sometimes really helps me a lot as another artist who also struggles with this. it’s nice to feel less alone in these thoughts about our art. and its also nice to see vulnerability, it’s nice when people can be vulnerable where it gives other people the chance to see that they are not alone. thank you 💗
To me, your unique style in the second photo is the way you do the face colorations with watercolors and the black lines you add afterwards. Always a fun twist that’s unique to you!
I really feel this feeling you're describing. Every time when I'm making art I really feel bad about "coping" picture or just drawing something without any creative elements, but I think every artist gets through this kinda phase/feeling. But also, every artist has to remember even if you're "just coping" your references, it's your art style, that is making your drawing unique. Every line you draw, is a line, that no one else can copy.
To me, your art style is so unique! I love the way you place color on the face especially, and let there be defined areas of shadow and highlight and less emphasis on blending between them (something I can't figure out, it always looks a mess when I try 😂), and I love the way you use blues, purples, and reds in the face to give really lovely brightness and fun to your art. It's especially unique to me in your watercolor art.
I know we can hear a compliment a thousand times from a thousand people and it will never be as loud as a teardown from our own inner voice, but I just want you to know how fun and unique I find your style. Thanks for continuing to push through the negative inner voice, I know the struggle all too well lol

I totally get your insecurities and the frustration that comes along with trying to venture outside of the box! It always makes me feel uncomfortable but then I feel with what I'm good at, and gosh it take time to move forward or move outwards.
But I don't want you, even for a second, to think that your art is boring or that you're just "copying a picture" because you add so much depth to an already existing photo, your colors are so vivid and they make each photo lively and unique!

The way you layer colour is so unique and and you focus on little details that provides such a high quality and ease to look at, which I think is what makes good art. If you opened a little art boutique I would definitely spend way too much money there and that is a compliment 💗
