The main reason the Churchill tanks are so slow is the engine is governed. You cannot rev it over a certain rpm. Guess it was meant to prolong the engine.
I always run the Black Prince with 30+ APDS because you are going to need A LOT of them lol. And also try to engage in long distances, just so you don't have to take 20 mins to get to the front and at longer distance, unless you get hit by a HEATFS, not many things can hurt you
The infantry tanks like the Churchill and the black prints are designed to escort inventory that’s why they’re called inventory tanks so they don’t really need to go faster than you can walk and that’s why they are so slow
@dd-gl2qf aye it had flaws but aleast it wasn't the German approach of making every single tail unrelated to each other and making them also have more armor at the cost of transmissions and resources
"We penned his manlet what?" say hello to a 17 pounder with APDS. also the reason it's so slow is because of intentional design influenced by doctrine, the churchill series are infantry tanks meant to support infantry so we never made them much faster than a person can walk. the doctrine was heavy armoured tanks with infantry to break holes in enemy lines then very fast very thin armoured tanks to exploit those holes. the doctrine ran headlong first into reality once the war kicked off and we couldn't retool or redesign our tanks because of our factories being bombed and the fact almost nothing was standardised so we had to stick with the designs even though we did change our tactics.
The reason for the 350hp is because the tank was a proof of concept, not a battle tank. The only ones built were prototypes. Production variants were supposed to have a supercharged Meteor engine of 950hp. The standard engine was used just to allow the prototypes to move around.
There was actually a proposal to put the Meteor engine in the BP, they estimated that if they mounted it on a slight angle and modified the crew compartment firewall to make room for the starter motor it would have fitted, but it never got off paper because the centurion already existed

50% of the time: bro I hate this slow tank I hate it so much
The other 50%: *_YOOO THIS TANK IS FIRE_*
I always run the Black Prince with 30+ APDS because you are going to need A LOT of them lol. And also try to engage in long distances, just so you don't have to take 20 mins to get to the front and at longer distance, unless you get hit by a HEATFS, not many things can hurt you
Hey spookston did you know theres a button you can press to increase the gear and automatically drive
The infantry tanks like the Churchill and the black prints are designed to escort inventory that’s why they’re called inventory tanks so they don’t really need to go faster than you can walk and that’s why they are so slow
I mean, the Black Prince is underpowered, unlike the Churchill
yeah but that design principle is stupid and we quickly figured that out and came up with the 'universal tank' concept
infantry* not inventory
Gotta protect the inventory
@dd-gl2qf aye it had flaws but aleast it wasn't the German approach of making every single tail unrelated to each other and making them also have more armor at the cost of transmissions and resources
Attempt 3 at getting Spookston to do some CAS in the Wyvern
Play the M42 as a td
It can pen tiger one side
Who needs a tank engine when you have five car engines or three bus engines?
Me see UA-cam
Me watch Spookston
Me happy
I think i would like a spookston podcast:)
Spookston just wanted to say thank you for inspiring me to make warthunder videos
13:19
Rheinmetall: Yes Sir🤭
The reason for the 350hp is because the tank was a proof of concept, not a battle tank. The only ones built were prototypes. Production variants were supposed to have a supercharged Meteor engine of 950hp.
The standard engine was used just to allow the prototypes to move around.
3:12 Spookie's back, tell a friend
I wonder if Spookston likes listening to Eminem🤔🤔
@@ahmadrifqisusanto6008 lol
That M46 acted more like a raid boss than it did a Patton.
There was actually a proposal to put the Meteor engine in the BP, they estimated that if they mounted it on a slight angle and modified the crew compartment firewall to make room for the starter motor it would have fitted, but it never got off paper because the centurion already existed
I think that you should try the ST-A1, this tank is very underrated, but its very good.
11:44 im certain its a WT thing. Mine will stutter like that when planes, helis and drones are spawned. Ngl it kinda feels a little cheaty because i can loiter off to the side and wait for a stutter then begin my intercept.
Spookston your probably not gonna see this but your voice is very relaxing
t-34-100 with a -3 mph reverse gear 🤝black prince with a -2 mph reverse gear
Video 83 of asking Spookston to play the LAV-AD with HEAT
Play the Chi Nu 2 its insanely fun has a nuke shell and a great gun for its BR. Even uptiers are fine
Spookston single handedly ends the british tank industry
Meanwhile the Churchill VII shares the same sentiment as its enemies - They find each other very hard to kill
Your tank getting perforated in real life: “Shit we gotta bale”
Your tank getting perforated in War Thunder: “It’s only the 3/5ths of the crew, keep going”
I sprained my ankle from a nasty fall off of a mean ol bronc from a rodeo but damn its sure as hell good to watch some spookston lol
You know what's not hopeless? The odds of you doing the Dozer Blade video.
You WILL do it Spookston. It's only a matter of time...
The first 20 seconds of gameplay all I could imagine was a Tuba playing that "fat man walking" kind of music.
