*Battery life is great **Latest.Bike** Scooter . Love the different driving modes. It’s got a little headlight and taillight too. Gets lots of looks haha*
Looks great! The board is long and roomy , but why not extend the handlebars a little wider for a natural width? It would balance out the scooter with the longer deck. 👍🏼
Anybody considering copying this - don't use laptop cells, they are rated for 2C or typically 3 to 4 amps draw but the motor may take 15 to 20amps. Rescued lithium cells from 18 or 20volt power tools would be a good choice but you still need to match capacity with the rest of the hoverboard battery which will typically use 2ah or 2.2ah cells.
Nice build! But i wouldn't recommend using laptop cells as a replacement as they are rated for low discharge current (around 1A) an could overheat and cause fire. Use powerdrill batteries instead
Laptop cells are rated for 2C. Most common cells are around 2200mAh so they can handle around 4.4A max continuous. Hoverboard motor power ranges from 150 to 350W, what our guy has here looks like a 250W motor. So with a 36V battery that would mean around 7-8A max, which is less than the 8,8A that two parallel laptop cells can supply. I still wouldn't recommend using laptop cells because salvaged cells rarely have full capacity. Also the cells in the pack might no longer be balanced in terms of capacity. But the guy made a pretty cool thing and now has something to improve, which is good.
thank you for this inspiring video... i am building one for my 6 yo son based on his baby-kick-scooter. with one hoverboard hub motor... i m now not sure hoe to connect the charging port...? would you please briefly give a statement please? i hesitate to just connect the charging port to the batteries +\-... thank you💐
Man nice work! You only showed cheap scooters and saying that they are expensive.. 😄 the expensive ones are totally worth the money, especially the ninebots, you can get a used one for under 400 euros
Hoverboards underpowered as hell I had a Jetson rave with 400 watt dual motors only 12 mph scary ass hoverboard that I'd smoke with my 16 mph bird air 250 watt single back wheel drive motor having scooter I was just reading volts are what effect speed of course with whatever watts your motor can handle being your limit idk how amps effect it but I woulda make it have more range and speed if I made one

@@nuggetczsk This has less range and no power to go up a ramp. It's a diy scooter. Can't expect much from it. And it's also not worth the effort, money and time invested in it. I have read in the comments in another Utube that two hub motors, while can be controlled by one throttle, will have energy loss due to magnetic feedback. I wonder if you see this happening and if so, it doesn't bother you? how far can it go with one charge?
You can do it! Connect in parallel! But since there's only one hall connector you can not connect the other wheel. Since it is a scooter, both wheels should not behave differently. But still buying two is a bit of a better choice. An alternative is to reprogram the main hoverboard motherboard.
Battery and wheels are simply wired as per the controllers wiring diagrams. Red, black and green throttle wires are attached to first controller, green throttle wire is simply split in a 'Y' to the second controller 👍
Did you wired the charger port directly to the battery output ? I asked about this lately and everybody told me to not use hoverboard battery and not to charge it directly without overcharge and undercharge protections and a bms circuit. But i guess the circuit in the battery pack includes them all, right?
@@robmakes8824 thanks, it helped so much , and one more thing is, should i wire positive to positive and negative to negative or pozitive to negative - negative to pozitive to charge the battery?
Basically any switch will work on that method cuz these controller most of them use low brake levels wish works in the 4v or 5v system when u hit the "swtich" the brake it goes down to 0v and the controller sends message to the motor to brake. To Clarify Think about it as 2 cables + and - when u hit the switch the cables connect 0v and scooters brake.

At the time of building I had nothing suitable to extended the handle bars. The scooter seems to ride ok with the stock handle bars 👍
Please do a diy video on converting a knee scooter into a seated electric scooter. Please pretty please! I’ll bet you’ll go viral!
Maybe one day...

Very very nice applaud your creative skills and clean work.
Great build can’t complain
Great video !! i m planning to do this cuz i have useless hoverboard.
Did you ever do it? I'm planning to do it because mine has a dead battery and it's pretty scratched and stuff and I no longer enjoy it.
Amazing!! you deserve more likes on this video
ill never build this, just interesting to watch
Where did you find those cheap controllers? Can you share a link or something?

The charger should be matched to the batteries voltage. Also the battery should have a BMS installed.
I wish things were that cheap in the USA 🇺🇸

Can we get a top speed on this? I’ve seen a lot of people use a different battery to get higher amps to the motor how does the hoverboard battery do?
Top speed is roughly 8 - 10mph 👍 The existing hover board battery provides enough amps, however range could definitely be improved.

great job, how much km/h in speed
@@rachidbaaira9869 roughly 16km/h 👍
How do you wired it like how did you know which wire to solder to eachother
Did you wire the throttle in parallel?
Hi rob, could 1x 500w controller run both motors or is that not possible, I'm new at this and trying to figure out my options.
you maybe can but to be safe just use 1 controller for 1motor

what maximum speed can it handle?
Probably 20 km/h
And how far do you think it will go?

how do the controllers work with one throttle? special controllers? thats pairing or just throttle wire run and split like a Y? nice job btw

try to open the motors, and do a "DELTA" connection in the phases of the motor
