if I have a donor of property to our non-prof can the donor get a deduction for several years? A single year deduction may not benefit them enough if they don't have high taxes. Thoughts?
I feel like this could work, you already have a personal bank account aside from your business and having a business savings and checking account would work. I wonder if you create a salary or contract or yourself will it be ok, I feel like the percent will keep you at a honest rate off what revenue you bring in. Allowing you to get more if you make more
My son also has an autism diagnosis 🤗. When thinking of creating a nonprofit in which there are already many serving the same population, make sure your mission is set apart from others or addresses a current gap that is out there. Many times you can be more effective partnering with an already existing nonprofit unless of course you have a really innovative solution to the problem.
Board of Directors will vote on and approve an ED salary but EDs are responsible for setting and budgeting for the operations budget including salaries. To be able to pay other staff you must start with yourself and many people start nonprofits with no salary. This method is a good way to start putting aside money for your salary so you can make a case to the board of directors that you have enough to sustain being paid.
Do not donate money to anyone. It's a scam. 80% goes to people in need not the 100% . Paying your self for non profits is disgusting. 100% needs to be paid to people in need. Scam scam scam

With a donation of this size it is imperative that the donor contact a tax professional regarding the best way to maximize their deduction.

Thanks awesome information!
How about to open a Bank account?
Can you state or document your projected annual salary even though you are not making that amount yet
Sure, but document it where? I would document and agree on it with your board with a plan to get there that you all agree on.
Do you do any coaching or one on one sessions?

I thought your board of directors controlled the salaries?
