Just received my tax exempt letter for my new nonprofit, "A Safe Haven for New Beginnings, Inc. (Prince George's County Maryland) to assist displaced women providing a pathway to self-sufficiency through mental health counseling, vocational and life skills, as well as providing shelter, transitional housing, and rapid rehousing services. Need all the help I can get, and this was very informative. Thank you, and may you continue to grow.

We recently stood up a 501c3, nonprofit organization. We also own 7 acres of land. Our plan it to build an affordable tiny home community for homeless veterans with mental health services, a community center, and a greenhouse for the community. It's been a challenge to find capital. Faith of a mustard seed and hard work will get us there...with lots of patience.

This is exactly what I’ve been looking for. I came across this Chanel at the right moment. I had to quit my job as a teacher last month because the principal refused to accommodate my unpaid leave request to attend my graduation. As a first-generation grad, I wasn’t going to miss that. I recently graduated with my master's in Mental Health and Wellness not knowing what step to take but I love helping and teaching others. I did a bit of research and thought the best way to go about it was to start a nonprofit organization. Thank you so much for the time to explain everything. I appreciate it!

These conversations from you amazing humans has helped me more so in confidence, hope, and leaning on faith. Extremely inspirational and motivating. I am recently in remission from a 3 year flare up of my autoimmune disease that had me bedridden. I gave in and took chemo pills from my rheumatologist, and finally have begun to have energy, be able to function normally on a daily basis, be able to stand for more than 30 minutes at a time, my brain fog is beginning to clear up, it goes on. But my career was coaching and teaching acrobatics, dance, gymnastics, and cheer. Now I have no choice but to change careers. No one will hire me with my resume full of what most don’t understand is actually management and communication skills. No matter how I word my resumes, it looks like just a dance teacher. So I have been discouraged. After watching and listening, I have a different perspective and a renewed courage. I have to be resilient and determined. And also, let God. Thank you. 🙏🏼

I was able to get my nonprofit set up in a little more than a month with the assistance of a phenomenally young lady who runs a successful nonprofit and also helps others set up their nonprofit. It was a little pricey, but well worth it. It saved me months of headaches and time because I did not know where to start. It seemed like it was a lot, but she got it all done and in a little over a month and we have nonprofit and our website, but she is wealth of information, not only pertaining to the nonprofit but so many other things that are tied into it.

38:00 just so everyone knows when she says 40% is standard for operational costs, this doesn’t mean no employees salaries are covered by the 60% program costs. It took me a while to understand this.
Some employees, including the CEO, might be considered “operational costs” if they are the ones doing the direct service work.
So if the mission is to plant trees for the environment, and the CEO is the one planting the trees, their salary can be considered an operational expense.

Taking out a private student loan is actually beneficial because after 7 years or whenever the statue of limitations runs out in your state, you don’t have to pay on it any longer and it wouldn’t affect your credit.
    Great episode!

As a non profit founder, she is on point, one of best videos I’ve seen clarifying small details, and how they vary & apply on local levels. Also, it’s important to note most Foster children do have family, many times they’ve just been separated, temporarily. Parent may be incarcerated, sick or struggling financially. Thanks for the video ♥️
