  • A two-putt from 60 feet on the final hole gave Tiger Woods a one-stroke victory over Phil Mickelson at the 1999 World Golf Championships - NEC Invitational at Firestone Country Club in Akron, Ohio.
Tiger Woods' chase for Sam Snead's record of 82 PGA TOUR wins began at the 1996 Las Vegas Invitational, his first TOUR win in just his fifth professional start. Over 20 years later Woods' excellence has seen him raise a trophy in six countries and 16 different American states.

Incredible how he can fight an old swing tendency during a tournament as he’s rebuilding it and still win. Just baffling how he spent the entire week hitting essentially just knock down irons.

You never saw Tiger hit a 2 iron off 18 again after this round. Thankfully he had a 2 shot lead headed to the final hole.

I guess N. Price was supposed to win, he just didn't know that playing for second was usual!
