@@hanma3291 I would say go back, had to stop listening to ChilledCow because I missed these tunes. They don't sample anything now for copyright reasons... I only know eevee tho, so this is the only artists that played on chilledcow back in the day that I can find and listen to.
Exactly... the meaning of lofi was for the music to have audible imperfections. It's totally diverged from that path for better or for worse. I definitely prefer the early days of lofi hip-hop.
@@its.moonjc yeah! ironically there's too much high fidelity in the lo-fi music right now, just generic reverbered guitars and piano over a pretty well-mixed beat, it's literally like listening to a Pink Floyd's Marooned remix.

This lo fi will always hit different then modern day lo fi sitting in your apartment on a cool afternoon and here this was this shit can’t say the same for modern lo fi attempts
man...summer 2016, would wake 7:00, sun already shining outside, smoke a blunt with a cup of green tea, then walk 8 miles to the building site i worked while listening to this mix non-stop, had my mind travelling way out there...icicles was always my favourite track. such a great tape!

For information Eevee use youtube for diggin' / sampling and FL Studio for producing. She recently use a SP-404SX since few weeks, but it's little used.

glad all i gotta do is search "2014 2015 lofi mix" and i get this oldies back i miss those days when i heard lofi for the first time in its infancy i dont like the modern versions tht much it doesnt feel or hit right like these ones
yeah the 2014-2016 lofi has that specific sound. New lofi isnt even lofi, its all clean and commercial. This is the raw real lofi!
