It's amazing how many different music players there were decades ago. So many options to choose. Now we have everything in one device but it lacks of that old magic.
This is my favorite mix tape. I’ve been listening to it on repeat while driving around the California coast and up to the Bay Area. What a perfect soundtrack for a beautiful scene. It’s cinematic! The 70’s were so classy and easy
What a nice and cool idea, to choose songs that share a theme or genre, and collect them together like this. I appreciate the thought and effort behind it.
You, Fardemark, are the real gem here. It's like Divine Providence has placed you and instilled within you the love for the sound and the tech of yesteryear so you could preserve our music for us.
I love how you have a wonderful assortment of electronics, mechanical clock and how you appreciate the older tech. I have both the Roberts RtoR and a version of the RCA 45 player. Keep up the good work. Love the music!
Fantastic Mix of rare unique 70s!! Thank you so much for your splendid work💕 We are truly enjoying your amazing rare Channel in the most beautiful nostalgic way! Truly heartwarming & uplifting.... especially for us Baby Boomers who miss those good old days when life was simple and people were real and music was truly Happening!!!!
I searched "1985 instrumental" because I was looking for a certain song whose name I don't know, and this came up. Well, I abandoned that for now. I'm going to listen to all of this. This is the magic you provide and I'm so glad I subscribed.
This is one of my favorite mixes. All the music is excellent! Perfect for background music while working. Thank you so much for the work you do! Please add a Buy Me A Coffee link. Thanks.
I am 58 and grew up seeing, and hearing, this type of "Reel to Reel" player it was set so high on the bookshelf I couldn't reach it Ha Ha Ha but we did ha a Magnavox color TV console we kids could mess with
It's Christmas Eve night 2023 I got the whole family over and of course me and the uncles are all chilling in my garage working on my project car (89 Prelude)... I've been playing this since they showed up and you successfully gave three Old-Timers a severe case nostalgia lololol👍
This is the best one yet ... very nice selection! My dad had a 4-track Reel to Reel TEAC back when I was a child. Seeing yours brought back those memories. 😊
Tracklist (work in progress): 0:38 Wavy - Janko Nilovic (Maze Of Sounds) 3:53 Shop Around - Brian Bennet (Kpm 1000 LP series) 6:20 Sky Train - Alan Hawkshaw (Kpm 1000 series: The Road Forward) 8:50 Princess - Piero Umiliani (Il Corpo) ... 17:55 The Fat Man (Instrumental) - Syd Dale ... 35:08 Cruising - Alan Hawkshaw (Kpm 1000 series: The Road Forward) ... 39:36 Soft Throttle - Alan Hawkshaw (Bruton Music - Sunny Sides) ... 45:30 Love De Luxe - Keith Mansfield (Kpm 1000 Series: Contempo) 50:08 Man of Means - Alan Hawkshaw (Kpm 1000 series: The Road Forward) 53:27 BALLADE POUR UN DAUPHIN - Janko Nilovic (Un Homme Dans L'Univers) ... 59:26 The Way I Want to Touch You - Arthur Greenslade (Muzak: More Than Music) ... 1:19:38 Good Vibrations - Keith Mansfield (Kpm 1000 Series: Contempo)
Ite amazing how great the sound quality is. Youre real good at these uploads and setting the volume correctly. This music never sounded so good, because those stores back in the day didn't have speakers as good as we have now.
Amazing. Great fidelity from this recording. Thanks for sharing this groovy recording from your Akai machine. Such an authentic 70s sound that makes my neighbors jealous of the super sound. May I ask who the artist is?
@@Fardemark Yes, especially that it still works! I know someone who has a clock like that, they have it on the mantle of their fireplace. It fits really nicely in the space.
One final feedback suggestion: before you upload to YT, expand or zero out the waveform in Audacity or Adobe Audition or whatever music program you work with when recording and creating a file from tape. It will reduce noise on our end while increasing dynamic range and making it so we don't have to increase our volume so much that other programs or sounds come blasting out of the speakers while listening. It's difficult to imaging why these tapes were recorded at such low volume, leaving far too much unnecessary headroom and background noise. Do you analyze your files before saving them? Otherwise, nice music once again and thank you for the upload.
@Fardemark: Did you have another mix like this on your channel? I seem to recall another reel to reel mix like this with similar music, recall watching it a few days ago but cant see it anymore, its also vanished from my watch history
You’re lucky to have an Akai/Roberts deck where the pot metal hasn’t fallen apart. I had to retire my M8 when I discovered the head adjustment cam broke on mine.
You've been playing records and reel-to-reels for a bit now, don't you think it's time for cassettes and 8-tracks? I think a lot of us would enjoy that. :-D Thank you in advance!
@@titmouse-distribution Wowee, huge nostalgia for me from childhood in the 1970's. Very cool. Some of the local tv stations in the NY area would use this melody from time to time for different purposes, so it became ingrained on my psyche. Sweet.

Yeah..and that old sound that's way real/better IMO...
Ditto!
Nice vibes.
Well said!
At least it's good to see the old style music players in use on these videos, gives you some sort of feeling of the old magic.
This is my favorite mix tape. I’ve been listening to it on repeat while driving around the California coast and up to the Bay Area. What a perfect soundtrack for a beautiful scene. It’s cinematic! The 70’s were so classy and easy
This is freaking fantastic. It makes you wonder what gems like this sit rotting away on other reel-to-reel tapes...
The tape is various tv and movie background library tracks put on a maxell 1200ft 7” reel of tape running at 7.5 inches per second
@John Reasonmill 💯💯💯❤️❤️❤️

One of the tracks was played during trade test transmissions and Pages from Ceefax broadcasts on the BBC in the UK.

Groovy, I really dig it!
🤩 That Akai is something wonderful, and,as usual, the music, too! ✨🎶🎵🎶✨🏝️🏖️🌆 Thanks for posting and a friendly greeting from Italy 🇮🇹🙋🏻♀️!!!

What a shame, when I hit pause/unpause - it doesn't make a mechanic "click"... But seriously, love it so much! Both music and atmosphere.
YT is so behind
BTW they should have added an EQ to the video player tools years ago

59:27 The Way I Want To Touch You by Arthur Greenslade from Muzak’s More Than Music
So glad I found your channel...love these classic timeless tunes, thank you very much for sharing!
12:52 - The soundtrack to cruising down an uncrowded boulevard at 5:30am in late April in a royal blue '75 Monte Carlo!
I am so glad you put this music up on youtube for all of us to enjoy. They don't make this kind of music anymore and I miss it more than I ever knew.
I had always wanted a reel-to-reel. A 10-inch TEAC. Very cool!
Alas, I could not afford it. Now, I can and have no need for it.
This is the best one yet ... very nice selection!

What a great spacy 70er sound and excellent quality on the Akai too!

Great background music to write fiction by!
I owned A Roberts tape deck like the above. It was very decent back in the day. I loved it.
Analog tape sounds so warm and creamy.
I love that description; reminds one of a smooth and comforting cup of hot chocolate.
Sound like the Life of My Dreams.... :-D Listening to your uploads every day. Thank you :-D
55:42 that guy was getting funky on that harp!
Ah, an excellent selection! Another great soundtrack for the day. Say, that's a pretty ornate kitchen clock.Where did you find it?
That’s an 1860s mantle clock I got for $45 at a yard sale it works but I don’t run it because it’s loud

I have a teeny tiny cuckoo clock in the kitchen but it doesn't run, unfortunately. Just looks cute!

Amazing HI-FI sound! Reel to reel tape is the best quality for music!
nothing beats a good reel to reel unit. I recently had one fully restored, new heads, the full monty. they really are amazing. expensive hobby though.
Thank you! This is beautiful!
i wonder if you got any real staticy radio broadcasts of this seeburg style music i just love that kind of radio so much
I love this so much.
Anyone know what's playing at 30:00? Such a nice brass section.
Beautiful! Well done 😃
Good work. 0 thumbs down, 111 thumbs up. This music deserves 111 more thumbs up. Thank you for the fine music.

Where do you even get various tv and movie background tracks? Would love to know the details of these. The sound 1973 - 1976 ish.
What a machine!!!

Thank you for the closest thing to "Time Machine"....
Those units are tall. They can tip forward and hit you in the face.

They used that model Akai in Viet Nam
The right ia rotating faster than the left.
this is natural, there're more tape on the left reel than on the right so the right one must revolve faster to absorb all the tape which comes in
