      Agreed - I would prefer a slightly longer cut though - I think the editor cut a few moments short - especially when she was about to play. I felt myself saddened that I missed seeing that after the abrupt cut.

    I'm 2 years late to the party, but it's so cool to see Math Rock on the forefront of music now. I remember listening to bands like Maps & Atlases and Minus the Bear back in 08', thinking I was onto something esoteric. But amazing people like Yvette Young are making it more accessible and fun to jam out to for a wider audience, which is AWESOME

    Dweezil is perfect for this. He’s such a monster player and his musical heritage is that of some of the most cutting and pushing in modern music but with that said he’s so humble, open and genuine. You really see his honest openness to these incredible talents at the forefront of the instruments future, no ego just real exchanges and conversations. That’s what we need in art and the world.

    Lol Dweezil didn't dare play his guitar the whole time. Awesome! I'm more into early 90s bands and heavier stuff but I also love bands like circa survive, and Doug martsch's built to spill an modest mouse point being the whole math rock thing never grabbed me but I think Yvette's style is great. It's so much fun to learn parts of songs like hers so I can write my own cause it's a great way to fill in the gaps tonally when writing solo stuff.

    • @griffox
      @griffox 6 років тому

      Michael Inglis I'm a circa fan, too. But I have to say math rock just delights my neurons...especially once you get to know the songs. I Can't even tell what it is I like; it's just really satisfying. I think TTNG's music is probably the most accessible. Their songs still have a familiar structure, even if the riffs and rhythms are odd. I also really like Look Mexico's album This is Animal Music. That was the first Mathy band I listened to.

    • @michaelinglis8516
      @michaelinglis8516 6 років тому
