  • As a sign of our appreciation for our amazing teachers, we gave them our away jerseys to wear for senior night. We are beyond thankful for you and your hard work!
Special thank you to Mr. Thomas Gilbert for orchestrating all of this!

Hey there! We are wanting to start this at our High School and would love to know more about this. Do the teachers actually keep the jersey or do they hand them in after the events/celebrations are over? What other traditions do y'all do?

Hey! I'm excited to hear that! Our teachers handed them in after Senior Night. As I'm not in high school anymore, I am not 100% sure what all traditions are held at West Ridge still, but I can tell you what traditions we started there during its first year (which was my senior year). One tradition we had was doing a parade of cars the morning of football gamedays. We would have the police "escort" our line of cars from about a mile outside the school all the way to the school... People would put flags on their cars, take pictures, etc... It was one tradition that everyone enjoyed a lot. Another is what we called Senior Sunrise. Towards the beginning of the year, the seniors met on the football field before sunrise and we all sat and watched it together. I think there was donuts involved... There are many other great traditions West Ridge introduced in its first year... I can't think of them all, but hopefully those can help! I'd love to see a video of your school doing this tradition, if you can! Feels good to know that this has inspired you!
