First heard this version in or around 1970,….This is the best cover of House of the Rising Sun ever recorded…the use of overdrive and Wah Wah is incredible…..this is a staple in my play list…😎
I thought that Frijid Pink was long since gone, never to be seen again. Than one day while driving through Allen Park I saw a billboard with an announcement for a Street Fair and to my surprise the feature act was Frijid Pink. Needless to say I was there for that show and I'm glad I did. The show was amazing. The band still does limited appearances in the Detroit area. I highly recommend if you're in the area when they're performing you should see the show...
Yes their original 1970's version blasts thru the roof!! Kelly Green was their original singer, Tom Harris on bass guitar, I forget their lead guitar who was amazing, Rick Stevers on drums is the only original member and the band owner. Everyone else here is fairly new. I agree - No one could sing FP's House version better than Kelly Green!!!
Sorry...i thought the guitar work was a little weak on the opening. He wasnt even true to original recording on that part. He couldnt get the sizzle on the feedback.
No... these are all new band members except for the original Rick Stevers on drums who is also band Owner. Lead Guitars: Ricky Houke, Ricky Z, Bass: Brent Austin Keyboard/Vocals: Chuck Mangus
Loved this when they released this in 1970. This, however, does not capture either the electrifying vocals or searing guitar. At best, just mailing it in without really feeling it, like just another cover band at a local club. Just watch/listen to the black&white video of their youth. Now, its ho-hum.
@@dday9257 these aren't the original band members.. except for drummer Rick Stevers who is the only original member as well as band owner. He's in his late 60's and almost all of these new guys are in their 40's-early 60's.
All those years they wanted me to addition for the come back, but I always believed if you can't improve on something enjoy what's been done. And truth be told most bands will tell you their 1st couple albums pretty much covered it. I loved those records but I miss who some of them became as men.
I'd put Frijid Pink's version of this up against any Eric Burden and the Animals version any day of the week
You are correct. Not even close!
Check out 5 Finger Death Punch's cover. Very different, but really good. Gary Ray Thompson is still the best guitarist ever to play this song...

Yes indeed. Rock on. APHS and MHS , 1970.
In 2018, this still sounds as badass as when it first came out. Some of the most superb guitar work ever.
Nobody sang this like Kelly Green!! He can never be replaced. RIP Kelly Green the nation, and the music world misses you!!
this is the best version of this song ever!
Then you never listened to
The Animals.
Joey baby. You are so right. That riff at the start just rips through my guts. Unbelievably good.
@@LOUIEMISHEFF I've listened to the animals version. Still like this one more.
Wonderful !👍👍👍I'm from Hanoi Vietnam 🇻🇳🇻🇳🇻🇳Thanks !🌷🌷🌷🌹🌹🌹💋💋💋🖐🏻
Loved this version when it first came our 😎
Frijid Pink one of the Motor- City's finest! May they forever ROCK!
Music of other level.
So badass....these guys are a throw back to the 70s and still sound great. Hope they keep playing and I get to see them.
Fantastic!!!! ❤️👏🏻👏🏻
Great Cover yall!..First I've heard of you guys! Way to carry the notes on vocals! Guitars are awesome too..well all together! everything works!
Brutal!!!!!saludos desde Barcelona!!!rock and roll never die
wow I had no clue this band still exists. their firsttwo albums brought me to listen to progressive rock.
какой мощный вокал, обалдеть можно
Pas tout à fait comme en 1969, mais excellent quand même, merci !
Super band
Great performance
Their 1970 version is awesome, this is a little off but I suspect age does that. Still like the Animals version but love Frijid's version.

J'ai toujours le 45 trs. C'était une super version.
Amazing he still got the voice.... sad that they didnt do anything the nearly matc
hed this greatness
Sounds good!
Perfect
... still has some nice pipes...😎🎶 🍻
The original singer Kelly Green left the band many years ago. He died several years ago. ⚘RIP
Best version. Beats the Animals... hands down.
Nope.
Sorry...i thought the guitar work was a little weak on the opening. He wasnt even true to original recording on that part. He couldnt get the sizzle on the feedback.
I agree. The sizzle fizzled out with this recording.
Can't beat their 70's original version with Tom Beaudry singing!! ("Kelly Green" stage name)
super Song, i like this song about 52 year,
Tom Beaudry sang the original.
Indeed. Stage name: Kelly Green
He died a few years ago if I'm not mistaken. Girls would literally weep when he sang!!
49 ans après ! Ils pètent la forme ! \m/
*GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD!*
Like this sound track then the earlier track. This had a rhythm guitar in the background.
Woooohow please go to black and white for their earlier recording👎
Yes it's THE BEST!!
@@truthbtruth8559 Glad you agree :)
Amazing live vocal - and that guitar sounds like his ass is on fire 🔥
great to see the old blokes still kicking it
Different members over the years except for Rick Stevers on drums. He's the only original member and he's the band owner.
I first heard this version when I was stationed in the Falkland Islands in 1991.... From a guy called Peter Parker..... 😂😂
what happened to the original. singer. in color video. still here. ??
is. that original guitarist.
Детройт РОК СИТИ!!!
🩵🩵🩵Rick!
Great sounds but the pictorial montages are annoying.
Oh I didn't know, is anybody from the motor city, that's not good, GFR included!!!
Grand Funk is from Flint not Detroit.
I love the Nuge....
FP always had the best version of the House, but... are these the original guys?
No... these are all new band members except for the original Rick Stevers on drums who is also band Owner.
Lead Guitars: Ricky Houke, Ricky Z, Bass: Brent Austin
Keyboard/Vocals: Chuck Mangus
I doubt any of these guys are the original members. The lead guitarist looks way too young-he certainly learned to play it right, though…

What do think happens when you get old?
Exactly.
@@36karpatoruski They still sound good. I'm 64 years old so I know the original.
This is beyond awful. A cover. Plain and simple. Thats not the original band. The opening guitar riff is pedestrian as hell.
@@dday9257 these aren't the original band members.. except for drummer Rick Stevers who is the only original member as well as band owner.

Pas mal mais çà ne vaut pas la version 69

В 70 м было лучше...
Guitar is pretty good. Vocalist not so much, no falsetto. Glaringly missisg. Otherwise this is a passing cover of a cover of a cover...
La meilleure version, le son au top !
Hey brothers, how kick ass is it to be the Godfathers of heavy metal? Y'all still Stomp Ass!
