@@nickmalvern6190 🤣🤣🤣🤣 On tomorrows videos we have the Old Filton Airport next door but that road is also the access to that site and it turns out they own the whole lot even the bridge. I thought if anyone would give the keyring finder hassle, it would be him. You will see what I mean on tomorrows video. (tomorrows keyring is not up that road for anyone else thinking of going on an early hunt) We get asked to leave so fly the drone from somewhere else. Phew, that was a long comment! 🤣🤣🤣🤣

All security should take note, this is how you deal with photographers. Polite to the point and UNDERSTOOD what was going on.

The access road bridge is New Road and was originally Victoria Park worker cottages as railway construction was ongoing early 1900s. At drone 6:10 the white building and level crossing was the taxiway access to Filton Airport, now closed and being redeveloped in phases. At 6.25 top screen at the end of the buildings, the railway enters a short tunnel hidden by the trees.
Into the early 1900s the area was mostly farmland and Victoria Park worker cottages. When constructed the Filton Airport across the tracks was censored on OS maps from 1935. The housing estate likely developed in 20-30s. The Airbus site likely developed during WW2 as post war the farmland area was censored till 1960s maps.

The Bristol 223 jets were built at Filton, the ones that were forced to be redesigned as a joint project with the French and given the French name Concorde.

The A400 M was developed at Filton, it is a military cargo plane, I think they make the wings there, not sure about the fuselage. Filton is a research and development plant.
Only the wings are assembled in Filton, the fuselage is built in Germany with the final assembly carried out in Spain, the A400m was developed by EADS in France and the Netherlands.
I've been to Filton 'Air Bus' as a Contractor and it has an amazing Canteen. The food thier is like living on HMS Queen Elizabeth, Free food and its Top Notch! Everyone is Polite and seems really happy.
Yes I worked for Airbus for many years. I used to get emails about the A400 M, just don't want to go into too much detail.

It maybe too late now as you’ve already visited Bristol, but the other side of this site is on rent to a film studio, who use the old runway to build sets for films and TV. I’ll upload a video I took a while back of a set for the latest Tom hardy film Havoc which was being filmed there ❤

Pretty good response from security. Except for the bit about having to report to his managers that someone is filming. Does he approach cyclists or dog walkers or joggers and tell them that he has to report their presence outside the site to management. Why handle photographers differently by approaching and potentially scaring them away with the statement about reporting up. No one should be approached.

It has always been a fascinating site. Security is always very tight. Worked there a few times. Aeroplanes.
Concord was built and tested there, there’s remnants of a runway there and whenever Concord went “home” for a service there used to be thousands lined up on the perimeter to see her.
I lived in Bristol for the whole of the 90’s and seen the Concord lads of time, shame she was put into retirement.

Saw and felt the SST land in Texas in the 70s. From the tarmac beside the runway. Awesome aircraft! One of the greatest ever. Paris to NYC Mach 2 all the way with 4 huge turbojet engines.
