The Purcell School presents Mica Levi, Beethoven & The Planets at the Southbank Centre's QEH

- On Thursday 1st December 2022, under the baton of guest conductor Otis Enokido-Lineham, The Purcell School's Symphony Orchestra performed Love from ‘Under the Skin’ by alumna Mica Levi, followed by a remarkable performance of Beethoven’s Piano Concerto no. 4 with alumna Magdalene Ho as solo pianist. After the interval the orchestra returned for Holst’s The Planets Suite which came to a triumphant close with an off-stage chorus from the Symphony Choir.

The Purcell School is one of the worlds’ finest schools for young musicians aged 10 to 18 and the oldest music school in the UK. Based in Hertfordshire, just outside of London, the School provides a rounded education with music at its heart to around 180 talented students, most of whom go on to the top conservatoires and colleges for music, often with scholarships.
