Finally the problem with my one was a 5V regulator, power was only on for half a second each time but it was enough to see that there was one regulator that did not want to hold steady voltage. I also cleaned the switch but it's a different system on the v630. I changed some questionable caps too. Now to fix the volume hardly responding.
Is this going to be what i think it is? I have a rx-v630 here. Can't find anything obvious. But i measured the resistance of the speaker impedance switch and it was around 1 ohm. later i read in trouble shooting that the cause of not powering on can be that the switch is not fully switched over, i am wondering if by cleaning it the unit will function again. Horrible amplifier to dismantle, almost everything is soldered together. Just got to get motivated to put it all back together and test. failing this i will de-solder the main dc out cable after the regulators and bypass the start relay to test for current draw etc.
nice work. greetings from Antwerp Belgium
Hallelujah......you helped me find my Yamaha V795 problem. Good Job.
Great to hear!
Great video man. A lot of these otherwise well made receivers can be saved because of a bad speaker ohm selector switch.
Very true!
