    TC’s 94 autobiography was just great. An excellent read. Great seeing him here ( this would have been around 96, so he’s 71 ish here) He shines in this interview despite the poor interviewing style of the host, interrupted constantly, moving TC along just when he’s in full flow, but still he shines. Intelligent, very aware of his part in cinema. Some Like It Hot, Spartacus,The Defiant Ones, The Vikings, The Boston Strangler, The Persuaders reflect his wide range of acting skills. He really was the real deal.

      Agreed, it was an excellent read. But the interviewer was Skip E. Lowe, and that was just his style of interviewing, as annoying as he could sometimes be.

      His best performance was in Sweet Smell of Success, with Burt Lancaster, who was also great in it. Tony was a very talented actor, who didn't always get decent roles.

    Once I could kind of get past the odd hair styles I began to enjoy this interviewer's programs. There is a very strong pattern to his method of questioning. It works well. He also keeps the interview moving along so well. Very brisk pace. Thanks so much for posting all of these. These are real interview shows. They are not puff pieces or what we have on US TV today, brief appearances by celebrities for the purpose of advertising something. Sad. We used to have interview programs. The best ones today are on in England.

    Best Curtis interview I have seen. Hungarian Jewish background: wonderfully talented race of people which rubbed off on Curtis, obviously, artist on and off the screen. Read Hitler's Gift by Jean Medawar. Offers in-depth profiles of the talented Jewish scientists who fled Nazi Germany after Hitler's rise to power and assesses the seminal role these scientists played in turning the tide of World War II to the Allies favor and in transforming the evolution of twentieth-century science and technology. Amazing. Saw him filming once. Real pro.

    Marilyn's half-sister, Berniece, would differ with Tony on how Marilyn died. ("I don't think she committed suicide. It could have been an accident, because I had just talked to her a short time before. She told me what she had planned to do, she had just bought a new house and she was working on the curtains of the windows. She had so many things to look forward to and she was so happy." Source: Wiki) A documentary shown on mainstream TV and available on YT claims Marilyn's forensic evidence disappeared from the morgue locker over the weekend. Those who believe Marilyn committed suicide may want to investigate that claim, which seemed reliable enough. Why is her diary (or was it her psychologist's journal) unavailable to the public until 2039?

    One of the great actors, very good looking and Elvis copied his hairstyle. I'm a big fan of Tony Curtis.

    • @BalanceTechDetroit
      @BalanceTechDetroit 4 роки тому +1

      Actually, Elvis copied the hairstyle of the Midnighters, as in Hank Ballard and The Midnighters. They are Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductees. They were 'rounded up' to play at Elvis' coming home party when he returned from the military. They were touring and had a lay-over in Memphis. The state police came to their motel and requested they attend and play at the coming home party. They did, gladly, after getting over being 'invited' by the state police! Billy Davis was the lead guitar, he was a mentor to Hendrix too, and loved Elvis like everyone did. He wore his hair like that - mutton chops - actually until just about five years ago. The hairstyle came from the way Hank Ballard's band was wearing their hair just as Elvis returned from the military and could grow out his hair, he saw what the band he admired was wearing their hair.

    camera is wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy to close does never create a good effect
    skip lowe.....for some reason feels the need to repeat words...to remind everyone he is still there and knows things
    tony really tries to be honest and is more intelligent thus perceptive then he seems with this fool lowe who never learned the art of interviewing is the art of listening.
    NO WAY I COULD EVER WATCH THIS GUY AGAIN. he is annoying... distracting to the point of creating anger

    This is a phenomenal interview! My dad took me to the movies 🎥 when I was kid and saw Lepke which was one of my first Tony Curtis movies 🎥. Some like it hot was an amazing movie 🎥. Rest In Peace, Mr. Curtis You certainly were one of great actors of your time!

    people bag on skipe-e for his interview style and frequent interruptions..including me.. but he has the ability to book very prominent guests and, i must say i really get a good sense of their personalities because of his interview style.

    Who is this weird interviewer? He talks too much, interrupts too much, says dumb things and is disorganized, and barely lets the man talk. Curtis has interesting things to say when he gets to talk.

      He married wife #6 Jill Vandenberg in 1998. He divorced wife #5 Lisa Deutsch in 1994. So this interview was between 1994 & 1998. Wish he was allowed to finish his sentences & tell some stories about his life.
