I said back in ‘2019’ with the “bloodbath” , They haven’t seen any yet . I had no idea it was 2024 , But I did say back in 2019 they hadn’t seen anything yet . 190,000 truck drivers, Here today , Gone tomorrow - (being 18Nov24).
What about when your at level 5 RTD process your not working(driving). Were do you go to get the UA done to RTD at level 5 and can't get anyone to hire you. When it was supposed to get done from last employment but didn't do it . R-2 Contractors Oregon US
@Sherwood-q8p I'm in the same boat this is why I hate the fmcsa and the clearing house I didn't everything I was supposed to do to fix it and now it's kinda just up in the air
It's an unfortunate situation but it's up to the driver to find a company who is willing to begin the RTD process as a condition of employment. Which can be difficult, but not impossible. It might be possible to ask their SAP if they know of any companies that they have worked with. Some of the mega-carriers are more willing to work with drivers if they have a good recommendation from their SAP.
@wardaddy5702 Ya I was told as soon as I got to level 5 I could drive again wrong you must submit a UA to Fmcsa after your pre- employment UA to FMCSA as well as to your SAP then your cleared but of course R-2 contractors tried some BS of submitting the UA token 2 days before which ws negative, don't surprise me knowing the source of the company. Glad it's behind me God has given me a way . Just pray brother there more power in prayer than any wanna be Contracting company
@OverTheRoadATS it's not that it's unfortunate it's unnecessary for pot when you get over the fact that pot isn't a reason to destroy someone's lively hood the industry will be better off until then the transportation industry can kick rocks
@ couldn’t agree more. Concessions should NOT ever be made for drug/alcohol drug test failures for commercial drivers. We already have far too many drivers with very limited experience and poor training (9day trucking school) for us to have to deal with driver impairment. Thanks for 👍🏻
Wrong ,anyone in prohibited status just lost CDL privileges in the state which issued said privilege. And will not be able to renew for five years. That’s when all violations fall off driver status.
You bring up a valid point, and it's worth clarifying the details regarding the FMCSA Clearinghouse rule change. As of November 18, 2024, drivers who are in a prohibited status due to drug or alcohol violations will face stricter consequences. Specifically, a driver's CDL privileges may be downgraded or suspended in their licensing state until the driver resolves the prohibited status by completing the return-to-duty process. However, the five-year timeline you're referencing pertains to how long violations remain visible in the Clearinghouse, not necessarily the renewal of a CDL.
To clarify I spoke with Colorado Department of Transportation yesterday November 25. The person I spoke with clarified the statement I made on YT. As of November 18 2024, if you are in prohibited status and have not resolved or attempted to resolve said violation you will lose driving privileges up to five years. Here’s the but, If you are currently taking care of violation (SAP) program Councilor will sign off on paperwork once therapy is done and return to duty drug test is negative.
@milehighmadman1 you are mis informed sir perhaps you and anyone else who thinks they know how it works should hear it from the horses mouth like the FMCSA who I got the real truth from yesterday December 8,2024. Surely they would not lie about like the rest of these idiots who think they know

Why does ANYONE with a failed drug test or refusal even have a CDL??? Ridiculous…..
Safety is extremely important to us, these clearinghouse changes should help make the roads a little bit safer every day.
