How to Build an Earthen Oven for Free
Вставка
- Опубліковано 21 чер 2020
- Hinako and Tsugu share how they built an earthen oven with natural and second hand materials for free. They built this oven to be more self-sufficient and source their own energy. This video not only shares their example, but teaches you how you can do it as well.
Hinako and Tsugu in Japan are a wonderful example of people striving to live a more sustainable life. They are repairing an old Japanese style house with natural and scrap materials. They have a composting toilet, grow and forage some of their own food, preserve and ferment the abundance and have installed solar panels to create electricity.

Love earthen ovens, Little Tip: if your pizza is sticking to the floor, try putting a little corn flour on the bottom
That’s very good to know I wanna make my own oven. Pizza will defiantly be made too haha
@@12cyberninja breadcrumbs will do the job as well 👍
I am so inspired by this video that I feel like throwing away all my electrical appliances. 🤣🤣
Keep it coming!!
Beautiful oven!!! I just finished a tiny rocket stove made with mud... I´m letting it dry. I can´t wait to see how it works. All these things that you do on your own, are not only good for the environment but for yourself. They make you a better person. That´s for sure! Thanks again Rob!!!!😀
I have a small bit of pottery experience and it is SO refreshing to see someone who lets the clay dry before firing!!!! Yay!!! 😊 You HAVE to let the clay dry naturally to prevent major cracking. Even to the point of placing some damp cloth over the top to keep it from drying too quickly. This will help the oven last much longer than one that has been fired too quickly.
That's actually really cool
No, it is hot, it is an oven!
She was so well spoken.
Charming couple. This was

Wow~
Great video
Nice..
You got me. I'm doing it.😍😀✌👍
Berry lovely
Her voice is so beautiful
Wow, amazing job. It's so beautiful and you didn't have to spend any money. It really is lovely and there are a lot of people who will be able to use this, and have some spare wood lying around or a place to get some.🌝👍✌️🌟
Thanks for this video I am making a similar stove and this helps me to get to see how they do it. Why spend hundreds of dollars on something that isn’t even cool. The money saved alone is a motivation for some. Just being able to cook out side on a dirt stove is good enough reason for me.
Wow 😲 very nice 👍🏻
Hey I have been eating sheep and wood sorrel for weeks thanks to you!
You both had done a very good job, I would do one at my farm house in Vietnam. 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
Thanks for sharing the step by step info, you should show how to make the pizza dough n baguette as well, looks good
Love you too❤️
Good video 👍🏼💚

Amazing sharing dear friend I am your new subscriber friend
enjoyed this video very much as I am a diy person. I however wished they spent more time on the when and how of the chimmney . Thanks again - makes me want to bake bread! my grown children commented one day that was one of their fondest memories. when I would bake what I called Teddy bear Bread. Rich Brioche receipe shaped like teddy bears with raisins for eyes. Kids don't need stuff just your love and thoughtfulness . just go bake something!!!
wow , that's so easy to make, and it's durable. Can we move it inside our home during winter or rainy season?
❤️❤️❤️
Rob, I just found your channel and LOOOVE IT!! I live in NE Saint Petersburg with my wife and 4 yr old and would really like to get your specific input on how I can improve the usable space in my yard that I have. Please let me know if you offer consulting or just plain friendly advice in regards to improving one's yard spaces. Nameste my friend. I hope to speak with you soon.
Very nice! What's that underneath the wet sand castle? It looks like wood? And what's the advantage to making bricks, instead of a wetter mixture and just plastering it on?
You use a sandier layer in th einterior of the oven because the clay is then a better thermal accumulater heats more and holds the heat better. The straw filled layer omn the outside makes a layer which is more insulating and stops the heat from getting out, at least i think that is so.
You can make the outside waterproof by painting it with a paint made from whitewash (or store-bought cement + water) and boiled starch (i.e. wheat flour, rice flour, mashed cooked rice, cornmeal, even mashed potatoes). The Great Wall of China was made by mixing into the lime (quicklime) mortar, sticky rice soup, which made it waterproof and almost as strong as modern cement. If you have an oven in which to make pottery (terracotta), you could use a cup with loose dirt powder (ideally sieved), you can make terracotta powder which is easier to crush than normal terracotta, to mix into the cement/mortar to make cement/mortar which is stronger and also cures underwater (if you need that).
❤❤❤❤
I will make it in my konten
